Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

You need to spend a long time going up and down to adapt your body to the altitude; during this process, you certainly can’t transport those supplies by yourself.

There’s more solo climbing on the south slope, that’s because the route there is easier, with fewer vertical ice walls to climb, and one person can complete the pre-storage of supplies.

But even so, climbing Mount Everest solo is still very difficult, and on the north slope, it’s simply impossible, right?

Women tend to be more curious, so she asked directly, ”Are you planning to stay here for a few days and then go down?”

Li Younan glanced at the woman strangely and shook his head, ”The climbing window for Mount Everest is almost here, of course, I’ll make a determined push to the summit.”

The woman was even more surprised, ”You...aren’t you going to adapt to the altitude?”

Li Younan smiled, ”The supplies I brought aren’t enough to squander. Three days, if I don’t reach the summit, I’ll run out of food.”

The woman was dumbfounded, ”You...you mean, you plan to rush from here to the summit in one go, without acclimatizing to the altitude at all?”

Li Younan nodded.

The woman still wanted to chat a few more words with Li Younan just then, the guide over there called her, ”Come over to eat.”

The woman answered, hesitated a bit, looked at the pressure cooker Li Younan carried, but didn’t invite him over in the end.

After all, Li Younan wasn’t part of their commercial team, suddenly inviting a stranger to their team is not a wise thing to do at this altitude.

”What’s your name?” the woman asked.

At that moment, Li Younan was wearing snow goggles, his face was not visible.

”I’m Li Younan.”

”Li Younan?” The woman clearly recognized Li Younan, ”I know you, you’ve climbed Gongga Mountain before, you’re...you’re attempting Mount Everest again?”

The guide over there started urging, ”The food’s getting cold.”

”Coming, coming.” The woman waved to Li Younan and rushed over to eat.

Li Younan watched the woman over there with some amusement, their conversation floated over from afar.

”What’s for dinner today?”

”Dried rice with miso soup.”

”Oh...”

Li Younan couldn’t help but think of the snow...a wave of nausea hit him, and he quickly picked up his bag and headed to the place he had previously planned to get ice.

...

While Li Younan had walked several hundred meters toward the ice wall, the live stream room indicated a connection request.

Li Younan knew it was the host of the live stream online again, then clicked to agree.

The screen showed the host and the guest of the live stream.

”Younan, how do you feel today?”

Li Younan waved the bag and the ice axe for fetching ice, saying, ”I feel pretty good; I’m about to fetch my water supply.”

The host and guest seemed a little puzzled, ”Why do you need to go so far to fetch water?”

Li Younan paused slightly, sighed slightly, and said, ”The snow near the camp isn’t very sanitary.”

The host looked baffled, while the guest with climbing experience quickly understood what Li Younan meant, then started explaining to the host and the live stream viewers.

Upon hearing the guest’s explanation, the host looked surprised and asked Li Younan, ”Younan, is that so?”

Li Younan nodded, ”Indeed, at such an altitude, if you have stomach issues, the climbing plan might not go smoothly; it’s necessary to avoid these impacts as much as possible.”

While speaking, Li Younan had already reached the bottom of the ice wall.

And here, you can actually see some signs of previous presence, so Li Younan thought a bit and said, ”To ensure the safety of drinking water as much as possible, we need to climb to a higher place to fetch ice.”

The host hurriedly said, ”Younan, be careful!”

Li Younan smiled, and without concern, started climbing up.

He didn’t climb very high, about two or three meters, Li Younan secured himself with one hand and started chiselling ice from the ice wall with the other hand, quickly filling a bag.”

Just then, the guest suddenly asked, ”By the way, Younan, don’t you need to pre-store your supplies?”

Li Younan secured the equipment for fetching ice and said, ”No need, I’m planning to rush straight to the top.”

The guest was too shocked to speak.

The host asked curiously, ”What’s wrong?”

It was only then that the guest regained composure and explained earnestly what Li Younan’s actions meant.

”A couple of years ago, 4 former British special forces members used xenon mixed gas to aid breathing, and completed the summit in just 5 days.”

”Technically speaking, they used technical means, so it wasn’t a completely oxygen-free state.”

”Even so, it has already refreshed human understanding of limits.”

”If Li Younan can complete the summit on the north slope in entirely oxygen-free conditions, in just a few days, then undoubtedly, even without the ski descent step, Li Younan would be the undisputed first person to climb Mount Everest.”

”Even if you rank the combination of Li Younan’s physical fitness and technical ability at Tier 0, then the next Tier 1 has no one, not even in Tier 2.”

”Is it that exaggerated?”

”Are you kidding? Climbing directly from C1 to the summit of Mount Everest without acclimatization means this person simultaneously possesses inherent high-altitude adaptive ability like the Sherpas, and world-class mountaineering skills and fitness; it almost represents the physiological and psychological limits of humans under extreme conditions!”
