Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

This training method can also be combined with drones. There is quite a bit of research from abroad showing that with only two to three weeks of training, the flight speed of owls can be increased by more than 20%, and muscle endurance is significantly enhanced.

And more advanced training involves multi-target recognition, long-distance flight with weights, and theoretically, owls can act as messengers like carrier pigeons.

Harry Potter did not deceive me.

However, counterintuitively, commanding an owl to pick up a specific item and bring it back, which seems relatively simple, is actually somewhat more difficult.

Unlike dogs, owls are not particularly interested in objects casually designated by humans.

Training it to fetch a piece of meat is relatively easy, but training it to fetch other items will likely be ignored.

But seeing Liu Li’s demeanor, it seems like she has succeeded several times today, so Li Younan looked over with some anticipation.

The pen fell to the floor, lying still for a few seconds.

The owl didn’t even glance at the pen, instead tilting its head and looking curiously at Li Younan and Liu Li.

Gradually, Liu Li’s expression froze, as she picked up the pen again and waved it in front of Tuantuan: ”Pen! Over there! Watch carefully.”

This time, Tuantuan was quite cooperative, its gaze resting on the pen for a few seconds.

Liu Li then threw the pen again to the side.

Tuantuan stared straight ahead, completely unaffected by the pen, even raising its head proudly when looking at Li Younan.

Li Younan couldn’t help but laugh heartily.

Liu Li stomped her foot: ”This afternoon I told it to fetch something, it was obedient!”

Seeing Li Younan laughing happily, Liu Li gave Li Younan a playful hit.

Then she went over and petted Tuantuan’s head, ”It must be because Daddy is back, so it’s distracted, right? Let’s not bother Daddy; he’s bad, let’s go play over there.” With that, she picked up Tuantuan and sauntered away.

Li Younan blinked and suddenly his gaze fell on Tuantuan’s wings, thinking to himself: ”Its little wings should already be healed quite well.”

Liu Li was startled, turning around and said, ”No, no, I think it needs a bit more time.”

Previously, Li Younan had told her that although Tuantuan could legally stay with them, it was still a wild animal, belonging to nature.

If it really recovered completely, they should attempt to release it back into the wild.

Liu Li thought Tuantuan was not even half a year old, and since they had raised it for so long, it definitely didn’t know how to hunt; if released, it would definitely be bullied by rats.

However, Li Younan understood that while joking about this was alright, if Tuantuan truly wanted to fly away, it couldn’t be confined to the tiny RV forever.

At this point, Liu Li didn’t say anything further.

When it was time to sleep, they still placed Tuantuan’s nest on the skylight of the roof, but this time, Li Younan didn’t close the ”door” to Tuantuan’s home, leaving it wide open, the intention clear.

He petted Tuantuan’s wings, sighed slightly in his heart; indeed, they were completely healed.

At this moment Liu Li was already in bed, murmuring inside the car: ”Isn’t it ready yet? Come to sleep quickly.”

Li Younan petted Tuantuan’s head once more, then as usual, ruffled its feathers, chuckled mischievously, and said in a voice only he could hear clearly, ”You’re already fine, next you’ll be free.”

Closing the skylight, Li Younan returned inside the car, muttering while walking over, ”So eager, aren’t you afraid I’ll eat you?”

”Not afraid, I now sleep alone and can’t fall asleep.”

”Mm.”

”Li Younan, are you scared of loneliness?”

”I’m not.”

”Then do you want to sleep with me?”

”Sleep... sleep.”

Lying on the bed, Li Younan couldn’t help but glance at the skylight, thinking that Liu Li would probably cry for a long time tomorrow morning.

Silence prevailed throughout the night.

Liu Li woke up earlier than Li Younan, she returned from the bathroom, rubbing her eyes and said: ”Li Younan, quickly fetch Tuantuan down. I thought about it, yesterday it didn’t listen to me probably because I didn’t give the right command. I suddenly remembered, yesterday when I told it to pick up something, I said ’clever Tuantuan’.”

For a moment, Li Younan didn’t know how to explain it to Liu Li.

Seeing Li Younan not moving, Liu Li said: ”Are you a bit tired?”

Li Younan finally got up: ”Not tired, I’m full of energy.”

He slowly walked to the bottom of the skylight, pulled down the ladder, climbed up, opened the skylight, poked his head out, and sure enough, Tuantuan’s little nest was already empty.

Li Younan closed the door to Tuantuan’s little house, pondering if he should make up a lie about the door not being shut properly, hence Tuantuan flew away.

But at that moment, Liu Li exclaimed, ”Why is a rabbit flying in the sky?”

Li Younan poked his head down: ”You must be seeing things.”

Liu Li didn’t respond, she walked over and suddenly opened the door, cold wind rushed in, followed by a rabbit and Tuantuan fluttering its wings.

Li Younan was dumbfounded, almost falling off the ladder.

The owl again tilted its head characteristically, blinked its round, shiny eyes, then strolled nonchalantly to the perch beside.

Same as usual.

”How did Tuantuan fly over from there?”

”This is perfectly reasonable.”

”Huh? It didn’t sleep in its little nest last night?”

”Well... today’s weather seems quite good.”

”Seems so...”

Liu Li picked up the rabbit’s ears and hoisted it up, dazedly asking Li Younan, ”Can we eat this?”

Li Younan jumped down from the ladder: ”Eat, definitely eat, this is a gift from Tuantuan for the two of us.”

Li Younan quietly walked over to Tuantuan, this time he didn’t ruffle its feathers, chuckled twice, ”You’ve still got some decency.”

Then, he gently tapped its head, ”Gave you the chance to leave, it’s you who didn’t take it. Now, no more sneaking away, travel the world with me, little fat bird.”

Tuantuan slightly opened its mouth, seemingly yawning, then closed one eye while the other half-closed, clearly a bit tired and wanting to sleep.

...

Li Younan came out of the RV, a police car drove up, and Professor Zhang got out, accompanied by a towering police officer, the Tibetan officer Sorlung Tendro, who left an impression on Li Younan yesterday.

Sorlung Tendro said, ”We plan to fly a drone up there for another look.”

He then said to Professor Zhang, ”Professor Zhang, if the drone can’t find it, then we really have no other means.”

Li Younan shook his head, ”Drones definitely have limited search capacity, there are many plants on the cliffs, and these plants obscure the view, the camera’s search range of the drone is very limited.”

”Is there no other way?”

Li Younan shrugged, ”Didn’t I say? I’ll go up today to take a look. I understand monkey habits fairly well; besides me, there’s no one else suitable.”

He looked relaxed, as if talking about something inconsequential.
