Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

”It’s over 5200 meters.”

Li Younan frowned, ”You’ve only climbed over 5200 meters, and this time you want to choose the most challenging Mount Everest?”

”I just think that if foreigners can do it, then we can do it too.”

Li Younan didn’t know what to say for a moment. In his view, this choice seemed a bit reckless.

But the companion next to Lian Feng seemed to see what Li Younan was thinking and said, ”Brother, I know what you’re thinking, but it’s not exactly as you think. Our plan this time actually has some special reasons...”

”In fact, about half a year ago, when we were climbing a snow-capped mountain abroad, we were looked down upon by a Polish team.”

”At that time, we were the only team that completed the climb and ski descent. It was supposed to be a very happy event, but it didn’t earn their respect.”

”During the argument, a sentence from the other side impressed us deeply: Only one person in the world has completed an oxygen-free climb of Mount Everest, and this person will forever inscribe their name in the history of human mountaineering, and that person is a Pole, our pride.”

”If you can do it, perhaps I’ll consider apologizing to you Chinese.”

Li Younan said helplessly, ”Honestly, Andrzej Bargiel is an admirable adventurer, mountaineer, and skier from any angle.”

”But using someone else’s honor as a pedestal to belittle others, such a person is frankly kind of laughable.”

”The team that disrespected you had no reason whatsoever. Just because Andrzej is from the same country, they’re proud? You guys don’t need to pay attention to them.”

The few exchanged a glance, and Lian Feng nodded with a smile, saying, ”Brother, you’re right, this team is dishonoring a great climber like Andrzej Bargiel.”

”But we are looking at this issue from another perspective.”

He paused and then said seriously, ”There isn’t a professional team for this project domestically, so we are very likely the only Chinese team that could replicate Andrzej’s feat.”

”Our final decision wasn’t just because we were mocked by the Polish team. Rather, we believe... if we can do it, it’s not only a vivid testament to our own transcendent achievement but also a symbolic rejection of national culture, setting a benchmark of possibility.”

Li Younan blinked.

Is the height really that high?

But a moment later, he also somewhat understood, after all, climbing Mount Everest is not something ordinary people can do, and binding this matter with love for the country and nation, then raising it from a personal perspective seems justified.

But to Li Younan, this matter seemed somewhat foolish.

After all, today’s China is already strong enough not just to feel inferior simply because their soccer never wins in Asia, nor because someone can ski down from Mount Everest to feel superior to other nations.

But in any case, if they can really do it, it indeed would be something that is worthy of national pride.

Li Younan smiled and said, ”If there’s an opportunity, I will go witness it.”

After separating from Lian Feng and his team, Li Younan returned to the RV, feeling inexplicably nostalgic.

This young man named Lian Feng constantly had a kind of calm smile on his face, yet did things with an inexplicable tenacity.

He sighed slightly, climbing Mount Everest and then skiing down from there, how easy could it be?

They are not me.

Li Younan stroked his chin; unfortunately, he didn’t bring skis this time.

In the evening, Li Younan planned to rest at the foot of the mountain for another night and cross the pass tomorrow.

After dinner, Liu Yu made a video call to Liu Li.

While the two were chatting, Li Younan thoughtfully shrank to the side, not appearing in the camera.

And while Liu Li and Liu Yu were chatting, Li Younan also reached out to some old friends, who he had been in touch with all along.

The call today was from Jing Chaoyi.

The young lady is preparing to open a guest house by the seaside, a matter she’s been talking about for quite some time, and it’s finally on the agenda these days.

She chirped about some questions regarding opening a guest house, and Li Younan offered her a lot of targeted advice.

Later in the conversation, Jing Chaoyi suddenly said, ”Senior, when are you coming to the seaside to visit? I’ll treat you. To be honest, Senior, I’ve been kind of missing you.”

Li Younan laughed, suddenly feeling quiet, Liu Li’s chat seemed to have been interrupted.

He instinctively turned his head and saw Liu Li standing next to him without knowing when.

The two exchanged a glance, Liu Li’s eyelashes fluttering slightly, her big eyes looking somewhat innocent: ”I-I’m going to take a bath.”

”Uh...oh.”

People left, and soon, the sound of the shower came from the bathroom.

Liu Li let the water wet her hair, closed her eyes, and raised her head slightly, letting the warm water cover her body.

Thus, letting the water wash over her for a while, she slowly opened her eyes, a hint of determination in her gaze, as if she made a major decision.
