Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

”Our plan has three phases: First, we will take 10 days to complete the high-altitude acclimatization march, gradually reaching the Assault Camp at 8300 meters; then we’ll wait for the optimal window to attempt an oxygen-free summit; after reaching the summit, we’ll immediately switch to snowboards, making a rapid descent down the snow slope below the northeast ridge, aiming to finish the whole process within 8 hours.”

Lian Feng picked up a snowboard, his fingertips tracing the edge of the blade: ”To deal with the complex snow conditions on the north face, we have specifically adjusted the hardness and bindings of the snowboard to ensure stability during the descent.”

His eyes were firm: ”This is not a reckless adventure. We have spent a full six months preparing, from physical training to equipment adjustments, meticulously refining every detail.”

In the end, Lian Feng and his teammates stood in front of the base camp, collectively raised their trekking poles: ”Next, we will take our final rest at the base camp, waiting for the arrival of the window period. Follow us and witness this ultimate challenge belonging to China’s mountaineer snowboarders. Mount Everest, here we come!”

The camera finally fixed on the silhouette of Mount Everest, with subtitles appearing: ”Fearless in the face of danger, see you at the summit!”

Li Younan watched with passion, but when he opened the comments section, he frowned slightly.

To his surprise, most of the comments were negative.

Some questioned that based on the difficulty of climbing the north face, they were merely showing off, seeking traffic, and grabbing attention; others simply felt they were overestimating themselves and courting death. Naturally, someone brought up the Polish mountaineering and snowboarding ace, using his resume to compare with Lian Feng and his team’s resume.

”The north face’s 70° North Col ice wall + Second Step vertical rock wall, is it really worthy to smash 500,000 worth of equipment for a show? Ice crevasses and -40°C temperatures won’t cooperate to play along. If you want to garner traffic, why not shoot some low-cost outdoor videos.”

”Polish ace Andrzej practiced on the peak of Cho Oyu before finally completing an oxygen-free descent of Everest after three attempts; yet Lian Feng has only just announced his plan and already gathered fans—such a gap is too obvious / sweating emoji.”

”Remember American snowboarder Jim took 4 hours to descend the north face and had to rope around a 198-meter rock area; yet Lian Feng claims he’ll finish in 8 hours—is he treating ice towers and crevasses as flat ground?”

”The Polish ace is National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year and even managed to snowboard down K2. Does Lian Feng’s team, besides training videos, have any high-altitude practical records of mountaineering and snowboarding?”

”There have been snowboarders who perished on the north face before, and their bodies were never found. Now, without even a transparent basic resume, to rush in—isn’t this trading life for traffic?”

Liu Li asked with some curiosity: ”All these comments mention the north face, what does that mean?”

Li Younan patiently explained: ”You know Mount Everest has two sides, right? One side is in our China, and the other side is in Nepal. Our China side is the north face. In comparison, climbing from the north face is more difficult, so much so that most Chinese people go to the south face for climbing.”

Liu Li asked in confusion: ”Why is the north face more difficult?”

”There are several main reasons. First, the commercial operation on the Nepal side is very mature, with professional Sherpa teams specifically earning money this way.”

”On the north face, however, it’s not feasible, mainly relying on one’s own team.”

”Secondly, the wind on the south face is smaller, and the slope is gentler.”

”On the north face, the wind is stronger, the slope is steeper, and there are steep ice slopes that require ropes and ladders to climb. Actually, the Polish ace also successfully summited Everest from the south face.”

”If climbing difficulty on the south face is rated 10, then climbing on the north face is 15.”

Liu Li paused for a moment, frowning: ”So... do you think Lian Feng is just trying to gain traffic and seek attention?”

Li Younan pondered while stroking his chin and shook his head: ”I don’t know, but I feel like he’s quite genuine, shouldn’t be.”

Li Younan refocused his attention, thought for a while: ”However, what I’m most concerned with right now isn’t this matter.”

”What are you concerned with then?”

”I’m concerned about your health.”

”My health?”

”Hm.” Liu Li buried her head into Li Younan’s chest.

Then, Liu Li quietly said: ”Li Younan, actually, actually, if you want, even if I’m not feeling well, I’ll still give it to you...”

Li Younan’s heart warmed again, he patted her on the head, saying: ”If you want, I will also give it to you.”

However, Liu Li frowned and raised her head, ”I... how could I, be so... lewd.”

Li Younan blinked his eyes, ”Oh... I see... then forget what I said.”
