Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

After all, police officers are human and can’t move as agilely as monkeys do in trees. Grabbing onto a branch with one hand to maintain balance, he reached out with the other hand but failed to catch anything.

The monkey, chattering ”ah hmm,” took two steps back, clutching the briefcase.

At that moment, the monkey suddenly jumped, loosening its grip on the briefcase, which fell from the high branches of the tree.

The monkey disappeared in a flash.

They saw Li Younan holding a slingshot.

The charm of a slingshot lies in its ability to adjust the force of the shot as needed.

Li Younan didn’t use steel pellets; instead, he picked up a clump of dirt from the ground and didn’t exert much force, aiming it at the monkey’s rear to cause pain without injuring it.

At this moment, a police officer quickly ran underneath to catch the briefcase, and Professor Zhang finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Sorlung Tendro said admiringly, ”Teacher Li, you’re great at using a slingshot.”

Li Younan laughed heartily, ”When you’re out and about, it’s handy to have one of these.”

Professor Zhang couldn’t wait to approach the police officer, but the smile on his face disappeared in the next moment.

...

The briefcase wasn’t particularly sturdy and didn’t have any security features like a combination lock. It was the type that could be opened with a zipper.

Monkeys accustomed to interacting with humans were quite adept at opening briefcases.

The briefcase was not only opened, but its contents were all gone.

According to Professor Zhang’s description, the briefcase should have contained a notebook, two pens, two not-so-important documents, and a USB disk.

The most important item was the USB disk, precisely speaking, it was a portable hard drive, larger in size than an average USB disk.

The briefcase now had visible bite marks, and the zipper was broken, apparently from the monkey taking everything out.

The excitement of finally recovering the items quickly turned into disappointment.

Even someone with strong resilience like Sorlung Tendro felt a bit at a loss, sternly telling Professor Zhang, ”Professor Zhang, I think we need to call it a day; it’ll be dark soon.”

Professor Zhang could only look to Li Younan for help. After all, it was with Li Younan’s ingenuity that the briefcase was found, perhaps he had another solution.

Li Younan rubbed his chin and said, ”Now at least we can be sure that the USB disk was taken by the monkey. It might place it in its habitat, or it might discard it like it did with this briefcase. If it’s the latter, then a further search in this area might be useful, but if it’s the former...”

Li Younan glanced at the nearly vertical ravine cliff, over a hundred meters high, occasionally seeing monkeys and dense branches halfway up, and said slowly, ”We’d have to climb up to find out.”

Upon hearing this, Professor Zhang felt despair, and the other police officers’ expressions became somewhat complex.

Honestly, at this point, everyone felt they had fulfilled their duty completely, but what came next wasn’t something they could accomplish.

It’s a joke, who would dare climb such a near-vertical cliff?

Everyone has a family, and it’s not like this is a matter of national defense or saving lives, it’s about fixing someone else’s mistake, who would risk their lives?

Even if you take a hundred steps back, even if you climb up, you might not find the USB disk.

Professor Zhang naturally understood this; was there really no solution?

Li Younan smiled and said, ”I’ll try climbing it tomorrow.”

Professor Zhang quickly shook his head, ”Teacher Li, you’ve already done so much for us, I dare not let you take this risk. I’ll try to come up with other solutions.”

Li Younan didn’t respond, just said, ”It’s already late today, let’s talk tomorrow.”

...

Li Younan’s caravan was parked not too far away, just on the empty space beside the restaurant by the roadside earlier.

When the police officers all dispersed, Li Younan returned to the caravan; Liu Li was playing with Tuantuan.

Seeing Li Younan return, Liu Li asked, ”Did you find the item?”

Li Younan shook his head, ”Not yet.”

”Li Younan, let me show you something!”

”What?”

”Watch this.” Liu Li picked up a pen from the table and tossed it onto the floor beside him, ”Tuantuan, fetch it for me.”

Seeing this, Li Younan was a bit surprised.

In theory, owls, as birds of prey, have very high intelligence, enough to carry out complex commands.

The simpler ones are fixed-point perching and recall, such as asking an owl to fly from a perch to a designated spot.

Such training result videos are easily found online, often featuring trainers with thick gloves, blowing a whistle, and the owl flying over and landing on their hands.

Of course, owls have a considerable weight, which is quite taxing for cute girls.

The next basic training includes tracking targets and simulated hunting, which has systematic training methods, such as pulling a fake animal, wrapping meat in rabbit skin and dragging it with the help of an assistant, simulating prey movement, and rewarding the owl after visual tracking and strike.
