The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 150: Chapter 150 Is this a confession?_1

”Thanks for hosting today. I’ll be staying a few more days, so I’ll arrange next time, and you, old classmate, must give me the honor!”

”Sure, let’s catch up another time.”

Shirley Miller bid Santino Vasquez a courteous farewell and then got into the car with Carson Flores.

Meanwhile, not far away, in another car, Boston Browning, smoking in the driver’s seat, made a call.

”They’re out, at the hotel entrance, BMW X5.”

”Got it, I see them. Leave it to me, Uncle Browning, you don’t have to worry.”

Boston Browning instructed, ”Call me when it’s done.”

”Alright!”

Boston Browning ended the call, flicked his cigarette butt out the window, and drove off.

Dealing with a man of no consequence and a woman with a background but of no use—how hard could that be?

First threaten their lives to make Shirley Miller sell her shares at a low price, then find a few men to take turns with her, record a video, and that would be it, right?

With a formal share sale contract, bank transfer records, and the video for blackmail, what could Shirley Miller do to retaliate?

Such a petty task could exchange for the favor of the Miller Family of Seashore—it was like striking gold!

If it weren’t that he now had status, position, and reputation to maintain, he would have taken the role of the male lead in that video himself, given how beautiful Shirley Miller was.

A car slid out from a distance and followed behind Carson Flores’s BMW X5.

”This classmate of yours has quite the background, one of the big three in telecommunications. Has he never pursued you before?”

Shirley Miller gave Carson Flores a sidelong glance, ”Just because he’s wealthy and powerful, does it mean I should agree if he pursues me?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Well, no, but I just think he’s not a bad person. With such good conditions, if he sincerely pursues a woman, it’s hard for any woman to resist.”

Shirley Miller snorted, ”He indeed has an easy time with women. But that’s exactly why I don’t like him. Besides, I have my own matters to worry about. Love is a luxury for me. I haven’t even considered it.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”You don’t need to reject something just because it comes with difficulties. The things you want to do and love don’t conflict. Having someone by your side means you won’t be so lonely, and you’ll have a shoulder to lean on when you’re tired.”

Shirley Miller pursed her lips, ”I don’t want to drag others into my affairs.”

Carson Flores paused, then realized, ”So, you refuse to date or marry, and even pretended to marry just to satisfy the old man’s wishes; the whole reason is because you know dealing with the Miller Family is tough. You don’t want to drag anyone else into it?”

Shirley Miller nodded, ”Yes, you’ve always been helping me. But if something dangerous happens, beyond your abilities, then don’t worry about me.”

Carson Flores blinked, ”I am your husband now, officially. I can face the danger with you.”

Shirley Miller’s heart rate suddenly accelerated.

Was this Carson Flores’s confession?

Did he mean that if she truly regarded him as her husband, he would share hardships with her, unafraid of danger?

Shirley Miller took a deep breath to calm the slight tremble in her heart.

Indeed, Carson Flores was very capable and with his character, as long as she was sincere, he would certainly be sincere with her. No matter how dangerous the road ahead, he would definitely be with her, and even if it were a pit of fire, he would jump in without hesitation.

Shirley Miller replied calmly, ”I’m sorry, I’m not in the mood for love right now. You are a good man, but I have no feelings for you.”

After saying that, Shirley Miller turned her face away, not daring to look into Carson Flores’s eyes.

I’m sorry, you’re a good man; I don’t want to involve you!

I cannot be so selfish, knowingly facing danger, uncertainty of life and death, and still drag you into it.

If you’re angry with me, then be angry. Even if you hate me, that’s fine.

Carson Flores didn’t get angry but just shook his head and smiled, ”I never thought I’d get a nice guy card one day...”

Shirley Miller, upon hearing Carson Flores’s laughter, turned her head in mild surprise, ”Aren’t you angry?”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Business is business, no hard feelings. Why be angry?”

Business?

The sadness in Shirley Miller’s heart was scattered by Carson Flores’s remark, leaving her not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

After all, this was also a transaction; calling it a business deal didn’t seem too far off.

In the midst of their conversation, a van caught up from behind and cut off Carson Flores’s car.

Carson Flores was about to reverse when a sawed-off shotgun poked out from the passenger side of the van, ”Don’t move. Make a move and I’ll kill you both.”

Carson Flores stopped reversing. No car could outrun a shotgun at such close range. He couldn’t guarantee his safety, let alone Shirley Miller’s.

Since they didn’t shoot immediately, it meant they had a purpose.

Either robbery or kidnapping.

Carson Flores raised his hands, ”What do you want to do? Is it money you’re after? I have money on me, I’ll give it all to you...”

The van’s door opened, and two men climbed out, slid open the back door of the BMW, sat inside, one of them holding a short-barreled shotgun and aiming it obliquely at Carson Flores’s lower back.

”Drive!”
