The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 136: Chapter 136 Play_1

At the Dragon Cauldron Hotel, Oscar Miller lay sprawled out on the couch, a beautiful woman lying in his arms like a cat.

”Young Master Yu, are you going to accept their invitation today? These people are all lining up to see you.”

Oscar Miller sneered, ”Let them wait. I didn’t come here this time to give them a chance to network.”

”Alright, then I’ll reject them.”

Oscar Miller asked, ”Did that woman from yesterday die?”

”Not sure, I’ll ask later.”

There was a knock at the door. The woman got up to open it, and a middle-aged man wearing glasses walked in, his expression wooden, as if he were wearing a mask devoid of emotions and desires.

Oscar Miller asked, ”What is it?”

The middle-aged man reported, ”Young Master Yu, we just received a call from Leonidas Woolery of the Woolery Family. They can’t handle the matter we entrusted to them and told us to find someone more capable.”

Oscar Miller’s brow furrowed, ”What’s going on? Didn’t they agree to it yesterday? Why the sudden change of heart? Are they playing me?”

The middle-aged man shook his head, ”I was quite surprised too, so I did some digging and got quite a shock.”

Oscar Miller laughed, ”Beau Compton, you’re always like an emotionless machine, and you got a shock? Tell me, what happened?”

The middle-aged man, Beau Compton, answered, ”Ronin Woolery and Sonny Woolery were both rushed to the City First Hospital last night. Ronin’s legs are ruined; he’ll probably need a wheelchair in the future. Sonny has internal injuries and likely needs a year or two to recover. The Family Head Rhys Woolery and his brother Devin Woolery are both dead. Currently, the Woolery Family is led by Leonidas Woolery.”

Oscar Miller’s face changed drastically, and he suddenly stood up, ”Who did it?”

Beau Compton shook his head, ”We don’t know. The Woolery Family is tight-lipped and extremely reserved about it; they refuse to talk.”

Oscar Miller’s face no longer bore the previous ease, ”Rhys Woolery and Devin Woolery were not weak, and Lonnie Woolery is aging but still strong. To have killed the second generation of Woolerys and crippled the third, breaking the backbone of their family... Didn’t Lonnie Woolery do anything?”

Beau Compton shook his head, ”That’s unclear.”

Oscar Miller’s expression turned serious, ”Is it the Woolery Family’s nemesis, or is someone helping Shirley Miller behind the scenes?”

Beau Compton replied, ”It’s probably the Woolery Family’s nemesis. Shirley Miller is on her own; she couldn’t even best Martin Baker of a company. How could she be a match for the Woolery Family?”

Oscar Miller frowned, ”Brian James and his son died, and the reason for his death is also something the James Family is tight-lipped about, refusing to speak. The Heavenly Immortal even came forward to smooth out all potential trouble. Now, soon after the Woolery Family agreed to deal with Shirley Miller, they encounter this disaster. Could there be a formidable figure helping Shirley Miller in secret?”

Beau Compton analyzed, ”The Woolery Family hadn’t moved against Shirley Miller yet, and only we and the Woolery Family knew about it. Whoever is helping Shirley Miller in secret, they wouldn’t have any reason to know about it. Even if they did, if they were strong enough, they could just have warned the Woolery Family to back off, no need to cripple them directly. Moreover, Lonnie Woolery is also there. To kill his sons and cripple his grandchildren in his presence, this person must be extraordinarily strong. Shirley Miller, an ordinary person, how could she possibly have such a formidable helper?”

Oscar Miller thought it over and saw the logic, ”It seems like what happened to the Woolery Family has nothing to do with Shirley Miller. It’s just that with such drastic changes at home, they no longer have the strength to help, which is why they rejected our matter.”

Beau Compton nodded, ”That should be the case... Young Master Yu, what should we do next?”

Oscar Miller snorted, ”Without a butcher, do we have to eat hairy pigs? Do you know how many people want to do us a favor? Aren’t there three Cultivator Families in Polgel besides the Woolery Family? There’s the Howell Family and the Browning Family. Eva, have people from the Howell and Browning Families contacted you?”

His personal assistant, Eva Garber, replied, ”The head of the Browning Family has made contact, expressing a desire to invite you to dinner. The Howell Family has not been in touch.”

Beau Compton answered, ”Among the three Cultivator Families, the Woolery Family is the strongest, followed by the Browning Family, and the Howell Family is the weakest. The Browning Family is engaged in electrical appliances and communication businesses, while the Howell Family, now in decline, relies on several large quarries, supplying construction sites throughout the city.”

Oscar Miller asked, ”How about in terms of Cultivator strength?”

Beau Compton replied, ”Comparing the Browning and Howell Families, the Browning Family leads in population, number of Cultivators, wealth, and other aspects. However, the Howell Family has Lydia Howell, who is very strong. I’m afraid no one in the Browning Family can beat her.”

Oscar Miller, curiously asked, ”A woman?”

Beau Compton nodded, ”Yes, she’s the sister of Julia Howell, head of the Howell Family. She should be around thirty-six or thirty-seven this year. Very strong and a formidable fighter, she’s the number one in the Howell Family.”

”Thirty-six or thirty-seven?”

Oscar Miller immediately lost interest and turned his head, ”Eva, contact the head of the Browning Family. I’ll have a meal with him.”

”Alright!”

Oscar Miller sighed, ”An incapable woman causes such trouble, sigh. Shirley Miller, she’s as lovely as a Heavenly Immortal. If she weren’t my cousin by blood, I wouldn’t need to use these people. They’re really getting a bargain!”

After a moment, Oscar Miller seemed to remember something, ”Right, I seem to recall that Shirley Miller has a cousin, said to look quite similar to her. Beau Compton, look into it for me. If we can’t touch Shirley, playing with her cousin shouldn’t be a problem.”
