The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 109: Chapter 109 You’ll Find It Hard to Die Today_1

”The token, is it the Jade Pendant? Are you eager to have it?”

Shirley Miller pondered and said, ”I can give it to you first, but please honor our agreement to leave after three months.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”No rush, just give it to me when the time comes.”

Shirley Miller, curious, asked, ”Don’t you want to know about your background sooner?”

Carson Flores held his wine glass, his gaze serene, ”Seeking my background isn’t about expecting to gain anything, I just want an answer. Sooner or later, it doesn’t really matter to me.”

”The old man said we took your grandfather’s money, owed a debt of gratitude, so I had to come to repay it. That’s also why I willingly played along with you to make the old man happy.”

Shirley Miller stared at Carson Flores, her eyes bright, raising her glass, ”You saved me once before from humiliation, it was as if you saved my life. No matter how much I owe the Miller Family, as of now, I no longer owe anything.”

Carson Flores smiled and clinked glasses with Shirley Miller, ”Good!”

Shirley Miller blinked, ”Can I ask you a question?”

”Ask!”

Carson Flores responded crisply, raising his glass and draining it in one gulp.

Shirley Miller fixed her gaze on Carson Flores, ”When we first met, you said something about looking at my chest, that I was clinging to you—what was that all about?”

”Cough cough!”

Carson Flores suddenly choked, coughing violently; he hadn’t expected Shirley Miller to bring up that matter.

”Mistaken identity, cough cough, and it’s not right to go into more detail. In short, just a case of mistaken identity.”

If it was before, Carson Flores would certainly explain clearly, bringing up Samantha Tate, but now, with his ambiguous relationship with Samantha, how could he explain?

Samantha Tate had implored him not to let Shirley know about this, hadn’t she?

All Carson Flores could do was give a vague response, hoping to fob it off.

Mistaken identity?

Did Carson Flores know someone who looked very much like her?

Samantha Tate?

Shirley Miller thought it over, that couldn’t be it. When Shirley had gone to the company to see her, the two had met but showed no sign of recognition.

Forget it, it’s none of her business anyway. If it was a case of mistaken identity, so be it.

It seemed that that day, he hadn’t been behaving like a lecher towards her, rather mistook her for a woman he had some entanglement with in the past. After all, based on Carson Flores’ conduct in the time they’d spent together, he was quite the opposite of a lecher; rather, he was very MAN, very gentlemanly.

After finishing the hot pot, the two walked home, each washed up, and then lay down.

In the darkness, Shirley Miller lay with her eyes open, reflecting on the day’s events.

This was the first time she really communicated with him, wasn’t it?

The conversation was quite pleasant.

...

In the Dongshan Villa, No. 7.

Shepard James stood in the middle of the living room, his expression anxious, ”Master, how is my father doing?”

Sitting on the sofa was a man in his fifties, his complexion rosy, his eyes profound. He was Malcolm Gross, the third junior brother of the Sect Master of Yutian Sect and also Shepard James’s master.

After receiving the call, Shepard James immediately had someone check on the villa and found Brian James unconscious.

After being sent to the hospital, despite the doctor’s efforts, there were no signs of recovery, so Shepard James could only seek help from his master, Malcolm Gross.

Brian James was a financial backer for Malcolm Gross, quite the money god, and Gross did not wish for Brian James to just pass away, so he accompanied Shepard James to Polgel.

Malcolm Gross spoke calmly, ”He’s been struck by a Seal Meridian Palm, and I’m not skilled in medicine, so I can’t release it.”

Shepard James became desperate, ”What do we do then?”

Malcolm Gross huffed, ”Stay calm. Those who can wield the Seal Meridian Palm can naturally undo it. Just capture him. Before the threat of death, won’t he be forced to save him?”

Relieved there was a solution, Shepard James breathed a sigh of relief, ”That’s good. This kid is extremely arrogant and might be somewhat skilled, so I’ll need Master’s assistance later on.”

Malcolm Gross looked proud, ”A little over twenty years old, how capable could he be? Go ahead and deal with him. If you can’t, I’ll settle it for you as your master!”

Shepard James thanked him joyfully, ”Thank you, Master. Once my father is saved and this kid is dealt with, the James Family will be sure to reward you handsomely!”

Greed flashed in Malcolm Gross’s eyes, ”Save the person first, we’ll discuss the rest later.”

”Yes, Master!”

Shepard James sat on the sofa, waiting anxiously. He had already gathered information about Carson Flores, a newcomer from out of town.

Perhaps he had some skill, but with Master here, his fate was sealed!

As the sky darkened, Shepard James grew more restless, while Malcolm Gross watched television with an unperturbed demeanor.

Around eight o’clock, the house phone suddenly rang.

Shepard James answered the call.

”Shepard James?”

A murderous look flashed in Shepard James’s eyes, ”Carson Flores? I’ve been waiting for you, don’t tell me you’re afraid to come!”

”Bring your father to the summit of the east mountain. I’ll wait for you there.”

Shepard James wanted to say more, but the person on the other end had already hung up.

Shepard James turned pale with rage, and after reporting to Malcolm Gross, they quickly set out towards the summit of the east mountain, with Shepard James carrying the unconscious Brian James.

Half an hour later, Shepard James and the other two arrived at the summit of the east mountain.

Carson Flores sat on a stone, his gaze falling on Malcolm Gross, ”Shepard James, is this the help you’ve brought?”

Putting down his father, Shepard James glared coldly at Carson Flores, ”This is my master, Malcolm Gross from the Yutian Sect. Better heal my father quickly. Otherwise, you won’t even get the chance to die
