The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 139: Chapter 139: Promoted Again?_1

Ye Wen packed her belongings and dragged her suitcase out, while Uriah Reid was kneeling in the living room, ceaselessly slapping his own face until both cheeks were swollen like a pig’s head.

Seeing Ye Wen, Uriah Reid seemed to see a savior and crawled over on his knees, pleading, ”Wen Wen, I was wrong, please forgive me. If you keep hitting me, I’m going to die!”

Ye Wen kicked Uriah Reid in the body, sending him tumbling to the ground: ”Now, we have nothing to do with each other.”

Carson Flores didn’t say a word and turned to leave, but Samantha Tate couldn’t hold back her anger. She ran over and fiercely kicked Uriah Reid right between the legs.

”Scumbag!”

Uriah Reid screamed as he collapsed to the floor, curling into a ball and shaking with pain.

Samantha Tate was startled by her own actions and quickly followed Carson Flores out the door.

Carson Flores laughed, ”That was a really clean kick.”

Samantha Tate, still fuming, said, ”That man is such scum, he deserves to be a eunuch.”

After cursing, Samantha Tate took Carson Flores’ arm and said gleefully, ”Brother is the best, so manly and charming!”

Carson Flores teased, ”Don’t speak too soon, who knows, one day I might also become the scumbag you dislike.”

Samantha Tate laughed, ”Brother would never. Besides, even if you were a scumbag, you’d definitely be the most manly and charming of them all. Even if you wronged me, I’d accept it.”

Carson Flores got into the car, ”Where to now?”

”First, let’s take Wen Wen to the hotel. It’ll take some time to get the rented house sorted out.”

”Alright!”

After dropping them off at the hotel, Carson Flores smiled, ”I’ll leave you two here, I’m off to work. Call me if you need anything.”

Samantha Tate’s eyes sparkled as she asked, ”Dinner together tonight?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”I have things to do, let’s plan another time.”

Carson Flores actually had no plans, but he intentionally wanted to keep his distance from Samantha Tate; otherwise, they might end up in bed together that night.

With Shirley Miller involved, it felt too awkward. Better to take a step back and give it some time, focusing on work at the company and being an idle fish for a few days.

...

”Bro Flores, great news!”

Carson Flores was playing video games in his office when Jax Gross burst in, exclaiming with excitement.

Carson Flores looked up, ”What’s up, did we get our commission?”

Jax Gross grinned, ”The salary isn’t for another two days, right? The commission will definitely come with the salary.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”So what’s the great news then?”

Jax Gross leaned in closer and whispered, ”Bro Flores, I’ve got reliable inside info, you’re getting promoted again.”

”Promoted?”

Carson Flores looked surprised, ”Didn’t I just get promoted to team leader of the sales team eight, I’m getting another promotion? Are they making me the head of the sales department?”

Jax Gross laughed, ”Almost, heh, it’s for the deputy head.”

Carson Flores exhaled in relief. Deputy head, huh? That was manageable. It was just another lazy fish, only slightly bigger and lying on a slightly wider floor.

A deputy position meant no real responsibility, just another way to idle away the days, right?

As long as he lay low enough, neither responsibilities nor troubles could catch up with him, after all, he had no ambitions for promotion.

What did it matter which position he was in for just three months?

”When?”

Jax Gross replied, ”The appointment should come through in the next few days.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”And what about the team leader for group eight? Who will take that role?”

Jax Gross smiled, ”There aren’t many people in our group eight, it’s one of the newly expanded sales teams, and it’s said that you will still hold the position concurrently.”

Carson Flores answered casually, ”I’m just here to loaf around, so if I have to hold two jobs, you’ll have to help me handle the affairs of group eight.”

Jax Gross gratefully replied, ”Thank you, Bro Flores!”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Why thank me? If you’re doing the team leader’s job, you won’t be getting the team leader’s salary. That’s unpaid work!”

Jax Gross laughed, ”Bro Flores, you’re joking. I don’t even know how to repay you for all the assignments you’ve passed on to me. I’m more than happy to help out. Besides, it’s an opportunity to build skills, one that others would fight for.”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”Then work hard, and later I’ll speak to Ms. Miller about making your position permanent.”

Carson Flores wasn’t just placating Jax Gross. Apart from being young, Gross had good business skills and was completely suitable for the team leader position.

These past days, with the certainty that the Baker Family was out of the competition and that Golden Sunshine Investments was fully supporting him without meddling in corporate operations, Shirley Miller started preparing for a big purge.

She intended to remove many of the high-level executives who were only there in name but not in action. These executives had intricate ties with Martin Baker, Alexis Vasquez, Rusty Schneider, and other shareholders, and because of their presence, the whole company was like a quagmire that made progress difficult.

Only by getting rid of these treacherous leeches that lay on the company and sucked its blood, and replacing them with a younger, more energetic management team, could Shirley Miller lead everyone forward at a run.

The fact that he was being made deputy head must be connected to this purge.

The head of the sales department, Tristan Curry, was Martin Baker’s man, and since he was retiring anyway, it was inevitable that he would be taken down.

Thinking about this, Carson Flores became somewhat worried.

Shirley Miller wasn’t planning to make him deputy head and then, after a while, naturally promote him to head of the sales department, was she?
