The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 116: Chapter 116 Have You Heard About Selling Shares?_1

Leonard Reid had been through the ranks for years, rising from the grassroots to now having a net worth in the tens of billions. Naturally, he had cultivators at his side, but as he said, good hands were easy to find, masters were not.

Once others heard they would be up against a ruthless Small Dipper realm practitioner, they immediately beat a retreat.

The number of people who could cultivate Inner Qi was already scarce, not to mention finding a master who had unlocked the Ren and Du meridians to reach the Small Dipper realm.

You could offer all the money in the world, but you had to be able to win the fight. Only then would you have the life to spend that money.

The cultivator he had previously sent to trouble the other party was cleanly wiped out, which gave Leonard Reid quite the scare.

After saying goodbye to Carson Flores, Leonard Reid immediately dialed the phone number Carson had given him.

On the phone, a lazy male voice answered, ”Who is it?”

Leonard Reid politely responded, ”This is Leonard Reid, Mr. Flores has referred me.”

”Mr. Flores!”

The languidness in the voice vanished instantly, turning crisp, ”Tell me, what trouble have you encountered?”

Leonard Reid did not dare to hide anything, sharing the details of the difficulties he faced.

”So you need someone taken out, a Small Dipper realm cultivator, is that it?”

Leonard Reid replied respectfully, ”Yes, if you are unwilling to kill, then crippling his abilities will suffice.”

”Does this guy deserve to die?”

Leonard Reid paused, then quickly answered, ”He has killed many people, among them innocents. Does that qualify as deserving death?”

”It does. For Mr. Flores’ sake, the price is ten million, non-negotiable.”

Leonard Reid agreed without hesitation, ”Okay, do you require an upfront payment?”

The man on the other end laughed, ”You’re eager to pay, but since Mr. Flores referred you, there’s no hurry for the money. You can pay after the job is done. Send me the details of your target.”

Leonard Reid promptly sent the collected information to the other party, who quickly reviewed the data and hung up after dropping a line.

”Three days. Wait for the news.”

Leonard Reid let out a long sigh of relief, a look of joy appearing in his eyes.

Hearing the other party’s tone, it seemed they didn’t take the Small Dipper cultivator seriously, which made Leonard Reid’s imagination run wild.

Is this an individual, or a powerful organization?

Their attitude changed instantly upon hearing Carson’s name, and they even referred to him respectfully as Mr. Flores.

Just what is Carson Flores’ background?

Suddenly, Leonard Reid felt that his trip to Polgel had been the right move; he had met a remarkable person like Carson Flores.

That’s right, at the dinner, Carson mentioned the inspection team to Zayd Singleton. He had to remind Zayd again; that matter must be handled properly.

Leonard Reid picked up the phone and dialed Zayd Singleton’s number.

...

In Martin Baker’s office, numerous people were crammed inside.

Sitting leisurely in a suit on the sofa, Thomas Roth seemed relaxed, while shareholders like Alexis Vasquez on the other side appeared red-faced and indignant.

”Mr. Roth, your offer is way too low,” they said.

”Exactly, it’s not even half the market price.”

Thomas Roth casually sipped his tea, laughing lightly, ”We’ve done our research on River Miller, we know all the figures. Our offer is fair. We won’t pay a penny more. Think it over, gentlemen. If you wish to sell, let’s sign the contract. If not, I’ll walk away, and we remain friends regardless, the next time we meet.”

Thomas Roth was the general manager of a financial investment bank, but the actual controlling shareholder was Brian James. Put simply, Thomas Roth worked for Brian James, and he was here on James’ orders, teaming up with Martin Baker to work from the inside out, buying up shares from others.

Seeing Thomas Roth’s firm stance, Alexis Vasquez and the others started to grow anxious because the offer was too low, merely a little over thirty percent of the market value.

As Martin Baker noticed the others’ hesitation, he stealthily sent a text message.

Soon, his phone rang.

”Team Leader Hugo, hello... You’ll be coming over in a moment?... Excellent, I’ll wait for you.”

The eyes of Alexis Vasquez and the others fell on Martin Baker, and he gave them a subtle nod. A sense of dread hit everyone.

It’s over!

Hugo Combs is coming to issue a cease and desist order!

If that cease and desist order comes down, anyone sharp would know the company’s going to be in deep trouble. Then who would buy its shares?

Putting on a brave front, Martin Baker said, ”Forget it, I’ll sell. I’ll sign!”

Seeing Martin Baker sell, the other shareholders no longer dared to haggle. Their shares were less substantial, and if Martin Baker had sold, not selling would mean they’d be finished!

Thomas Roth smiled slightly, ”The contract is ready. If you decide to sell, please sign here.”

Just as everyone was about to sign, the door was suddenly pushed open, and Carson Flores entered, along with Cody Mason, the CEO of Golden Shine Investing whom they had met once before.

Carson scanned the room’s occupants, smiling slightly, ”Quite lively in here!”

Martin Baker’s heart sank upon seeing Cody Mason, fearing something was awry.

”Carson, is there something you need?”

Carson replied with a smile, ”I heard that a few shareholders were selling their shares. Mr. Mason is also interested in the company’s shares, so he asked me to bring him over to take a look...”
