It turned out that Shawn Simmons had visited the hospital for an inspection yesterday and bumped into Carson Flores, which led to the subsequent scene.

After parting with Waylen James, Carson Flores made a call to Shawn Simmons.

He had previously saved Blake Simmons, and they had given him five million for medical expenses and apologized; that matter was considered settled.

Now that he owed them a favor and was aware of it, he should at least say something.

As soon as the call connected, before Carson could speak, Shawn Simmons already said enthusiastically, “Mr.

Flores, hello!”

Carson said with a laugh, “President Simmons, you pulled off this move so quietly that I owe you one.”

After receiving pointers from his father, Shawn Simmons had realized that his vision had been short-sighted.

He no longer harbored any dissatisfactions with Carson and, as he had mentioned before, now hoped to be friends with him.

“Mr.

Flores, such a trivial matter hardly counts as a favor.

The hospital is purchasing equipment, and it doesn’t matter from whom we buy.

The Miller Group is a well-known company in Polgel with trustworthy product quality.

Moreover, buying locally is convenient for future maintenance.

Going forward, any medical devices and medications we need will be purchased from Miller Medical.

By then, I’ll probably need to trouble Mr.

Flores,” Shawn said.

Here was the buyer, offering money and speaking so politely that Carson naturally had nothing to say.

“Thanks.

Consider it a favor I owe to President Simmons.”

Shawn felt a surge of joy in his heart; favor or not, didn’t this mean their relationship had naturally progressed?

“Mr.

Flores, you saved my father’s life.

Talking about favors seems too formal.

By the way, my father has been doing much better since taking the medicine you prescribed.

He would like to invite you to dinner to express his gratitude.

Also, I’d appreciate it if you could give my father another check-up.

Given his age, he has many health concerns, and they worry me as his son,” Shawn added.

Carson smiled and replied, “Sure.”

Shawn laughed, “There are just two days left of the medicine my dad’s taking.

After he takes it tomorrow, how about we meet for dinner tomorrow evening?

Does that work for you?”

“Alright!”

Shawn, pleased, said, “Then tomorrow after work, I’ll come to pick you up.”

After hanging up, Carson walked toward the parking lot.

As he approached his car, a black van’s door opened and seven or eight men hopped out, quickly surrounding him, each wielding a machete or iron rod.

Carson stopped in his tracks, casually pulled out a cigarette, found his lighter, and snapped it to light.

He leisurely lit his cigarette, took a deep inhale, and then exhaled a ring of smoke.

“Who hired you?”

The young man standing by the car, holding a handheld DV, said coldly, “You’ve got guts.

I heard you can fight, and it seems that’s true.”

Carson’s eyes narrowed slightly, “This means it’s Ethan, doesn’t it?”

Having recently arrived in town, he had only shown his fighting skills a couple of days ago when killing the wolf pack.

Although he had injured Judson Stein during the incident, he also had saved his life, so Stein shouldn’t hold such anger towards him.

That left Ethan.

The young man replied coldly, “I don’t know who you’re talking about.

The boss gives the orders; I just carry them out.”

Carson flicked the ash from his cigarette, “Who your boss is, I’ll ask later.

Right now, I just want to know, what are you planning to do with me today?

Beat me up, cripple me, or just kill me outright?”

The young man spoke coldly, “You’re quite perceptive.

Everything you guess, none can be spared.

Let’s take our time with this!”

Carson chuckled lightly, “Such a deep hatred, eh?

Killing me wouldn’t even satisfy you; you want to torture me first, make my life a living hell, before finally killing me.”

The young man raised the handheld DV, started recording, and shouted, “Go, take him down!”

The thugs charged with their weapons.

Carson flicked the cigarette butt straight at the face of the man at the forefront.

Caught off guard, the man paused, his eyes instinctively closing.

By the time he reopened them, he found Carson standing right in front of him, one hand grabbing the steel pipe in his hands, and then a kick landed on his leg.

“Crack!”

Carson’s kick snapped the man’s leg bone, and the iron rod in his hands fell into Carson’s grasp.

Armed with a weapon, Carson was like a tiger coming down from the mountain, swinging the iron rod fiercely, causing screams to erupt from all around.

Carson showed no mercy to these ruthless thugs.

With every swing, someone’s arm or leg would break, while the slashing machetes and iron rods couldn’t even get close to him.

A middle-aged man standing by the young man with the DV suddenly drew his machete and surged forward, swiftly closing in on Carson from behind, his blade chopping down like lightning.

Without turning, as if he had eyes on the back of his head, Carson sidestepped and the blade’s edge whooshed past him.

Carson sneered, “Not playing the tough guy now, are you?”

The middle-aged man didn’t utter a word but continued to slash towards Carson with the machete, his moves swift like the wind and his blade shimmering like rolling waves, clearly a skilled fighter.

Carson danced around, dodging the blade with ease, and as the middle-aged man missed with a stroke, Carson suddenly stepped forward, closing the gap, and smashed the iron rod down on the man’s weapon-holding hand.

A crisp sound of breaking bone echoed, and before the man could even scream, Carson swung again, hitting him directly on the head.

The middle-aged man fell to the ground without a sound.

Carson turned his head back, twirling the iron rod in his hand, and fixed his gaze on the young man with the DV, “Aren’t you going to step in and show off your skills?”
