The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

69: Chapter 69 Adan Gilliam’s Prestige_1 69: Chapter 69 Adan Gilliam’s Prestige_1 Shirley Miller had just come downstairs when she caught the strong scent of fish.

“It smells so good!

Auntie Liu, your cooking skills are getting increasingly domineering!”

The housekeeper Auntie Liu laughed, “This isn’t my doing.

Mr.

Flores himself took to the kitchen to make this, and I can’t hold a candle to his culinary prowess.”

“Carson Flores?”

Shirley Miller looked surprised.

He could cook?

Wearing an apron, Carson Flores came out of the kitchen with a basin of spicy sliced fish, and seeing Shirley Miller on the stairs, he smiled naturally, “All done with work?

Go wash your hands and let’s eat.”

Shirley Miller felt a peculiar emotion and silently went to wash her hands before sitting down at the table, “Grandpa, did you catch these fish yourself?”

Parker Miller laughed, “The big grass carp was caught by little Carson.

Without him today, we wouldn’t be having this meal.”

Carson Flores actually went fishing with Grandpa?

Shirley Miller felt a surge of surprise and couldn’t help but glance at Carson Flores.

Did this guy have that much free time?

Carson Flores took off his apron and sat down beside Shirley Miller, smiling, “Try it and see how it tastes?”

Shirley Miller picked up a chopstick full, tasted it, and found the fish tender and smooth, melting in her mouth with a spicy and savory flavor – quite delicious.

“It’s delicious!

Who would have thought you’re such a good cook?”

Carson Flores smiled, “It’s passable.

I can handle some home-style dishes.”

Parker Miller looked at the seated Carson Flores and Shirley Miller opposite him, and no matter how he looked at it, he felt they were a match made in heaven, a perfect pair, which greatly comforted him.

This grandson-in-law was quite something!

Capable, with a good temperament, able to cook, and even content to quietly accompany him fishing – a reliable person indeed.

His granddaughter would have someone to depend on for the rest of her life!

While they were eating, Carson Flores’ phone rang, another unknown number.

“Who is this?”

“Carson, it’s your Uncle Gu.

What are you up to?”

Adan Gilliam?

Carson Flores paused.

Why would he call himself?

“I’m having dinner right now.

What’s up, you tell me.”

“Could you come over later?

There’s something I need your help with.”

Carson Flores’ eyes narrowed, his expression subtle.

Such politeness in his words?

And so warmly calling him “little Carson”?

This was unprecedented; before, he always addressed him by his name directly.

After mulling it over briefly, Carson Flores quickly caught on and responded with a smile, “Has Mr.

Reid come to see you?”

Adan Gilliam didn’t expect Carson Flores to guess the reason immediately, feeling extremely awkward inside.

After all, his previous attitude towards him contrasted sharply with his current need for help; the disparity was glaringly obvious.

Even Adan Gilliam himself felt his face heat up with embarrassment.

But there was no choice; it was Leonard Reid, the Real Estate King!

Leonard Reid’s visit this time was to set up a business district in Polgel, and to minimize unnecessary troubles, he intended to partner with a local real estate company for development.

Weren’t most of the guests at last night’s banquet there for this cooperation opportunity?

Collaborating with the Real Estate King Leonard Reid on developing a business district was not just about making money but even more about the unparalleled growth the company would gain from this partnership.

Whichever company secured this opportunity would soar to new heights!

The Gilliam Family’s Haite Real Estate was of medium size and couldn’t possibly compete with the others.

Although longing for it, Adan Gilliam knew his limits.

However, he never expected Leonard Reid to suddenly pay a visit, bluntly stating he needed Carson Flores’ help with a rescue, asking him to facilitate a connection, and to put in a good word for him.

A generous reward was assured if things went well.

Could he miss such a chance to connect with Leonard Reid?

Adan Gilliam adopted the position of a family elder, saying firmly, “Yes, he’s at our place.

Hurry over here.”

Leonard Reid visiting the Gilliam Family?

Carson Flores suddenly felt the urge to laugh.

So he had found out from last night’s banquet that he was Samantha Tate’s boyfriend and wanted to use the Gilliam Family to speak on his behalf, to force him to step in.

Too bad Leonard Reid didn’t know that his relationship with Samantha Tate was fake, and that Carson Flores really didn’t care about the Gilliam Family at all.

Even Samantha Tate’s face he could deny; all the more Adan Gilliam’s.

Leonard Reid was, unfortunately, carrying the wrong offering to the temple…

Hearing Adan Gilliam’s forced tone, Carson Flores chuckled, “I’m in the middle of dinner here and can’t leave.

I’m not familiar with Mr.

Reid, so I won’t be coming over.

Enjoy your meal, goodbye.”

Carson Flores hung up the phone and turned to Shirley Miller with a smile, “Sorry about that… Let’s enjoy the fish!”

The Gilliam Family.

As Adan Gilliam was on the phone, Leonard Reid sat on the couch with a composed smile, an air of everything being under control.

Having obtained Carson Flores’ information from Blake Simmons, Leonard Reid instructed his secretary to review the banquet hall’s footage.

He intended to see who Carson Flores interacted with the most to find someone suitable to make the connection.

However, he didn’t expect to see Carson Flores being intimate with Samantha Tate in the video.

After inquiries, Leonard Reid was delighted by the discovery.

It was an unexpected pleasure!

Carson Flores turned out to be the prospective son-in-law of Haite Real Estate’s general manager, Adan Gilliam.

Moreover, from the video, it was clear Adan Gilliam was not pleased with the prospect.

If that was the case, then as soon as Adan Gilliam spoke, Carson Flores would have to agree quickly, wouldn’t he?

To show his worth in front of a prospective father-in-law who didn’t like him?

As for Adan Gilliam, also in the real estate industry, wouldn’t it be easy to deal with him with just a few words?
