The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

58: Chapter 58 Watchdog?_1 58: Chapter 58 Watchdog?_1 Carson Flores casually pulled up a chair and sat down, “Who hired you to kill me?”

Ethan blurted out without any hesitation, “Ethan.”

Carson Flores nodded, the answer wasn’t surprising; he just wanted to confirm it.

“What’s the relationship between Ethan and Drake Bernard?”

Ethan perspired like rain, “The Newman Family is in real estate development, and our Black Bamboo Corporation is in contracting services.

We took quite a bit of business from the Newman Family, so we have a cooperative relationship.

Brother Bernard…

Drake Bernard didn’t want to destroy this relationship, as it affects future profit-making.”

Carson Flores smirked, “So you’re saying the Newman Family is the financial backer behind Black Bamboo?”

Ethan shook his head, “No, Black Bamboo only has some cooperative ties with the Newman Family.

Supreme Sky Corporation is the power behind Black Bamboo.”

Carson Flores frowned, “Supreme Sky Corporation?”

Ethan looked into Carson Flores’s eyes, asking cautiously, “Big brother hasn’t heard of Supreme Sky Corporation?”

Carson Flores chuckled, “I’ve been in Polgel for less than ten days.”

Ethan quickly explained, “Supreme Sky Corporation is Polgel’s leading real estate company.

Although the Newman Family is also in real estate, they are like children compared to Supreme.

Black Bamboo is nominally a labor service company, but in reality, it’s Supreme’s private enforcer, dealing with all the inconvenient affairs for Supreme, such as demolition, debt collection, threatening competitors, and so on.”

Carson Flores frowned, “So, Drake Bernard is Supreme Sky Corporation’s guard dog?”

“Correct.”

Ethan replied without hesitation, “Drake Bernard has always been with Supreme Sky Corporation’s chairman Brian James.

After Brian James became powerful, he had Drake Bernard set up Black Bamboo to gather enforcers and do his dirty work.

Officially, Brian James would grant Drake Bernard construction projects, which Drake Bernard himself didn’t execute.

He would contract the work and then subcontract it to others, making a profit from the difference.”

“Drake Bernard is indeed Brian James’s guard dog, biting whomever he’s directed to.

Drake Bernard and the Newman Family have a cooperative relationship.

He solves many problems for the Newman Family.

In return, the Newman Family grants him some construction projects.

To Drake Bernard, Brian James’s offers are rewards; the deals with the Newman Family are transactions.”

Carson Flores fixed his gaze on Ethan, “When you beat a dog, you have to look at its owner.

Since I’ve killed Brian James’s dog, will Brian James seek revenge for Drake Bernard?”

With a pained expression, Ethan said, “Big brother, I’m not clear on that.

Only Brian James knows what he truly thinks of Drake Bernard.”

Carson Flores didn’t trouble Ethan further, for he was telling the truth.

Carson Flores asked, “Are you planning to go and kill Ethan?”

Ethan gritted his teeth, “Three days.

Give me three days, big brother, and I’ll surely kill Ethan!”

Carson Flores nodded, “Alright, since you’ve said so, I’ll give you a chance.

Three days.

Same words as before, it’s either you die, or he dies.

Of course, you could also buy a plane ticket and run far away tomorrow.

I have no leisure to chase after you.”

Ethan let out a sigh of relief; at least he didn’t have to die today.

“Big brother, everything I have is in Polgel!

Unless I die, I’ll never leave Polgel!”

Carson Flores got up, adjusted his clothes, and gave his phone number, “Call me if there’s news.”

Ethan quickly agreed, “Yes, big brother!”

As Carson Flores headed toward the main door, Ethan hurriedly opened the door he had previously closed, standing respectfully by the side, like a doorman.

The several dozen enforcers in the hallway all looked over.

When they saw Carson Flores at the doorway, confusion showed on their faces.

He actually came out alive?

Didn’t we just hear gunshots inside?

What happened?

Did Brother Bernard let him go?

Ethan saw the crowd blocking the way and sternly shouted, “Make way, all of you!”

Everyone stepped aside, clearing a path.

Carson Flores walked through, Ethan diligently accompanied him to the elevator, “Big brother, I won’t see you out.

I need to go back and clean up this mess.”

Carson Flores nodded and pressed the button for the first floor.

The elevator doors slowly closed.

Watching the elevator descend, Ethan’s shoulders slumped, his forehead covered in sweat, his heart racing wildly, a flood of relief from surviving a disaster surging in his heart.

This man is terrifying!

Iron Fist and Evil Ghost were taken down by him in seconds!

A true master-killer who blinks not at murder!

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Ethan turned around, called a few trusted names, then said, “You stay, the rest of you can leave.”

After the enforcers departed, Ethan spoke in a grave voice, “Come in with me.”

The henchmen followed Ethan in and saw the bodies on the ground, their complexions turned dramatically.

Ethan instructed in a deep voice, “Clean up their bodies well and don’t alarm anyone.”

“Yes!”

After the trusted men silently dealt with the bodies, Ethan pulled out his phone, noted Carson Flores’s number, and then dialed Supreme Sky Corporation’s chairman Brian James’s number.

“Chairman James, this is Tucker Tyler.

I’ve got something to report.”

Brian James’s voice was authoritative, “Speak.”

Ethan recounted everything but omitted his three-day deal with Carson Flores.

He ended with a request for instructions, “Chairman James, what should I do now?”

Brian James replied coldly, “Drake has been with me for many years.

I won’t let him die in vain.

I will find someone to deal with that kid.

Furthermore, Black Bamboo cannot collapse.

You’ve assisted Drake in business for so many years; you know it well.

You’ll handle Black Bamboo temporarily; report directly to me if anything comes up.”

Ethan’s tone was respectful and excited, “Thank you, Chairman James.

I will do my best!”

After hanging up, the excitement on Ethan’s face vanished.

He squinted, deep in thought, and then made another call.

“Brother, I need a favor.

Keep an eye on someone for me.

I need their exact movements…”
