The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

64: Chapter 64: The Death of Ethan (1) 64: Chapter 64: The Death of Ethan (1) Ethan instinctively pressed the brake, slowing down the car.

“I’m Ethan from Jian’an Real Estate.

I currently have an important collaboration with Mr.

Li.

How did he die?”

The woman obviously knew about the relationship between Jian’an Real Estate and Drake Bernard, and her tone lost some of its vigilance, “I’m not very clear either, I heard he offended someone he shouldn’t have, and they came to his door and killed him.”

Killed at his doorstep?

Ethan’s heart inexplicably accelerated, feeling as if something bad had happened to him.

“Do you know who that person is?”

The woman answered, “I asked Tucker Tyler, but Tucker Tyler was evasive.

I asked a junior, and it seems that yesterday a young man went to the company to find Brother Wen, and then Brother Wen was dead.

Oh, his two underlings, Iron Fist and Evil Ghost, are also dead.”

A young man?

Ethan’s heartbeat quickened even more, and a sense of panic grasped his heart.

“Was that person called Carson Flores?”

The woman sighed, “I’m not sure, just that he was around twenty-six or twenty-seven years old, didn’t speak with a local accent, and I don’t know much more than that.

They didn’t tell me the details, and now the company has been taken over by Tucker Tyler…”

Ethan had no interest in hearing the rest and immediately hung up the phone.

He pulled over to the side of the road, his mind in turmoil.

Twenty-six or twenty-seven, with a foreign accent?

Isn’t that Carson Flores?

He had hired Drake Bernard to kill Carson Flores, but Carson Flores ended up at his doorstep, killing Drake Bernard at Black Bamboo Corporation, as well as Iron Fist and Evil Ghost, two very formidable fighters?

Yesterday?

If it really was Carson Flores, then wouldn’t he know that Ethan had hired Drake Bernard to kill him?

Drake Bernard was already dead, wasn’t he the next target?

Ethan’s heart pounded violently, and he suddenly remembered what Carson Flores had just said.

A dark forehead, a Blood Light disaster?

A drop of cold sweat ran down Ethan’s forehead.

Did Carson’s words mean that he knew Ethan was the mastermind behind the scenes, and that he was coming after him next, or even planning to kill him?

He couldn’t stay any longer!

Ethan wasn’t a fool; once he had figured out what was happening, he made plans to leave Polgel and lie low elsewhere for some time!

Ethan restarted the car while dialing his father’s cell phone.

“Dad, a friend is getting married in Seashore.

I’m going to have fun for a few days.”

Ethan’s father asked, “With so much going on at the company, can you afford to leave?”

Ethan, his mind in chaos and his life potentially on the line, had no care for the company.

Ethan casually prevaricated, “I will arrange my work properly, and even if something comes up, I can handle it remotely over the internet…”

“Honk!

Honk!

Honk!”

Ethan hadn’t finished speaking, when the loud blast of a horn sounded behind him, accompanied by an intense white light enveloping his sports car.

Why the hell are you honking the horn?!

Ethan turned around angrily, only to see a blinding white light and a massive truck honking like a rampant train, heading towards him at breakneck speed.

In front of a fully-loaded truck barreling down the highway, the Ferrari sports car was like a child’s toy, flung into the air and rolling towards the side of the road, then crashing into a flowerbed.

The truck did not stop at all, driving straight on through.

“Boom”

The Ferrari sports car was instantly crushed, and the truck continued on, hitting the flowerbed and knocking over a large section of it.

…

Outside the hotel, just as he was about to get into his car, Ethan’s father’s face turned pale.

“Ethan!

Ethan!”

“Quick, get in the car, Ethan’s in trouble!”

Carson Flores’ gaze shifted slightly.

Tucker Tyler had made his move?

“What’s the situation, let’s go see.”

Samantha Tate, oblivious to the details, urged Carson to drive with a gossip-thirsty look.

She had refused to go back with her parents and insisted on sitting in the passenger seat of Carson’s car.

Carson started the car, and after a while, the flow of traffic slowed to a single lane crawl.

Soon, Carson saw the accident scene.

The out-of-control truck full of cargo, the shattered remains of the Ferrari, the scene was gruesome.

The forehead-bleeding truck driver sat on the side, his expression numb.

Carson didn’t see Ethan, but outside the crushed pile of metal, he saw a leg wearing white trousers, with blood flowing out from the twisted wreck, soaking a large patch of the ground red.

Samantha Tate widened her eyes, covering her mouth in shock, “Is that…

Ethan?”

Carson didn’t stop the car, but smoothly slipped by the gap next to the wreckage, and drove straight ahead.

“Probably.”

Samantha Tate murmured in a daze, “Is he…

dead?”

Carson nodded, “Under those circumstances, not even a deity could survive.”

Samantha Tate suddenly turned her head, looking at Carson with a peculiar gaze, “You said before that his forehead was dark, predicting a Blood Light disaster, and it actually came true.

Can you really read faces?”

Carson casually replied, “A little.

I warned him, but he didn’t believe it.”

Samantha Tate bit her lip, her head lowered.

After a long silence, she spoke in a hushed voice, “Is this related to you?”

Carson calmly counter-questioned, “Why do you ask?”

“Intuition.”

Samantha Tate didn’t look up at Carson, her eyes cast down, “You said before that there would be a death.

I thought you were joking, but now, thinking about it, you might have known that Ethan would die.”

After a moment of thought, Carson calmly asked, “Do you want to hear the truth, or a lie?”
