The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Look, He’s Pretending to be Cool_1

”Samantha Tate, long time no see, our class beauty has become even more gorgeous!”

”Big Class President, you’ve really learned how to sweet-talk.”

The young man’s gaze rested on Carson Flores and he chuckled, ”And who might this handsome guy be?”

Samantha Tate introduced with easy grace, ”My boyfriend, Carson Flores.”

The young man reached out for a handshake and laughed, ”Fletcher Reid. We’re all envious, jealous, and resentful of you for picking our class flower, so many of our male classmates are going to have their hearts broken today.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”You should thank me. This woman is such a handful, always stirring up trouble; she’s a real headache. Being her boyfriend is pure suffering; I probably won’t live as long because of it.”

Samantha Tate’s cheeks flushed, and she gently smacked Carson Flores on the arm, ”Stop spouting such blunt truths, will you? Don’t I need to maintain my image?”

The other classmates looked on with surprised expressions.

This guy openly criticizes Samantha Tate, and she doesn’t get angry at all.

My goddess, to think she’d see the day when someone would handle her so easily!

This brother is awesome!

The young man in the business casual attire, filled with jealousy, watched the scene unfold. Their reactions were too genuine; this clearly wasn’t a case of bringing a temporary fake boyfriend to appease everyone.

Dammit, where did this guy come from?

The young man approached, smiling, ”Samantha Tate, you sure move fast. Just last month when we chatted, you were single, and now you suddenly have a boyfriend—are you hiding military secrets from us?”

Samantha Tate turned and laughed, ”Hugo Combs, what are you talking about? I didn’t hide anything. My brother and I have always been in touch, but we’ve just recently made our relationship official. So I brought him along to meet everyone right away, didn’t I?”

The young man walked up to Carson Flores, extending his hand with a smile, ”Hugo Combs, I sat behind Samantha Tate.”

Carson Flores shook his hand with a smile, but in his mind, he was sure in an instant.

Hugo Combs was fond of Samantha Tate.

The fervor in his eyes when he looked at Samantha Tate and the jealousy when he looked at Carson Flores were not well concealed.

Not all classmates had arrived yet, so everyone sat around chatting.

Hugo Combs and Fletcher Reid sat next to Carson Flores. Fletcher Reid asked, ”Carson Flores, where do you work?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”I work in sales at a medical equipment company.”

Hugo Combs and Fletcher Reid both looked surprised for a moment. A salesman?

No way?

Samantha Tate got herself a salesman boyfriend?

When did her taste drop so low? Not to say anything else, the jobs we have here are surely better than Carson Flores’s, right?

You turned down the son of Wu, the head of Jian’an Real Estate, only to end up with a salesman?

A rush of romantic impulsiveness and blindness?

Fletcher Reid quickly regained his composure and smiled, ”Sales is good; it trains people’s abilities. Many successful people started in sales when they were young.”

Jealousy poorly concealed, Hugo Combs was ready to rub it in Carson Flores’s face.

”Samantha Tate, I heard that Jian’an Real Estate’s Wu and your family go way back. Wasn’t his son pursuing you?”

Inside, Samantha Tate felt utterly unruffled and even wanted to laugh. To think he’d use that to provoke Carson Flores, he was clearly overthinking it.

The son of the Wu family you mentioned has indirectly died at Carson Flores’s hands.

”There was such a matter, but I didn’t like him, and moreover, he passed away in a car accident a few days ago.”

Hugo Combs was shocked. What? Dead?

Outrageous!

A classmate next to him saw that Hugo Combs seemed to be choked up and came to the rescue with a joke, ”Hugo Combs, I heard that you’ve been promoted again recently, having been transferred to the newly established Environmental Rectification Project Inspection Team in the city?”

Good classmate!

I’ll remember you, there will be benefits for you in the future!

Hugo Combs silently gave a thumbs-up to this male classmate, replying with a calm air, ”Yes, serving as the deputy leader of the inspection team, but it’s just a temporary assignment. After the rectification is complete, it will be disbanded. My rank hasn’t been promoted; I’m still at the section-chief level, it’s just a change of workplace.”

Hugo Combs put on a show modestly, and immediately, the classmates around him erupted with sounds of envy.

”Hugo Combs, even though this inspection team is temporary, it’s the actual reviewer for many enterprises in the city, holding the lifelines of many businesses. It’s a real power unit, not just anyone can get in, not to mention becoming the deputy team leader.”

”You have a great future ahead, you can’t forget your old classmates, you’ve got to bring us along.”

”Exactly, lead everyone to wealth together.”

”So young and already at the section-chief level, I’m so envious. I don’t know if I could ever get to that level in my lifetime.”

Hugo Combs, with a humble face, said, ”Don’t sing my praises too much, this is killing me with kindness. We’re all old classmates, brothers and sisters. If you truly encounter any issue, as long as I can help, I will not shirk.”

Carson Flores watched Hugo Combs show off with a smile, then glanced at Samantha Tate and nodded slightly.

Look, it’s all a show for you!

Samantha Tate curled her lips and rolled her eyes.

Love to show off or not, none of my damned business.

Seeing Samantha Tate’s reaction, Carson’s lips curved up even more, finding her quite interesting.

After Hugo Combs boasted, he turned to look at Carson, but caught Carson and Samantha in their tacit interaction, and in an instant, jealousy flooded his chest.

He decided to stop pretending; otherwise, watching them being so sweet together all night while he played magnanimous would just be asking for misery.

Hugo Combs turned his head and said with a smile, ”Carson, looking at you and the class beauty paired up, I’m so envious I could cry. After all, I’m also a devoted admirer of the class beauty. Could you share some insights, on how to win a woman’s heart?”

This is no longer pretending, it’s time for a showdown.

Carson sensed the change in Hugo’s attitude and knew that he was ready to use him as a point of attack, preparing to embarrass him.

Himself and Samantha Tate were clearly not on the same level; their being together must have a story behind it.

The most likely scenario was that he pursued her persistently and moved Samantha Tate with his perseverance, and then, somewhat reluctantly, she agreed to him.

If that was the case, talking about it in front of everyone would make him look humble, and the other party would definitely stir up trouble, provoke, and mock him covertly, causing him embarrassment.

Unfortunately for Hugo Combs, he calculated everything but was unaware of the true relationship between Carson and Samantha Tate.

Carson said with a smile, ”Insights? I don’t really have any, it seems like without doing much, Lei became my girlfriend. I didn’t want to come today and spoil the atmosphere of your class gathering, but she was acting cutesy and stubborn, leaving me no choice but to follow.”

Samantha Tate dragged Carson over as her shield, and Carson didn’t mind teasing her in return.

It’s just mutual roasting!

After Carson spoke, everyone was stunned.

Is this you being unabashedly boastful?

Why do I so badly want to punch you?

Got her without doing anything?

Have you got no shame?

All eyes, including those of Hugo Combs, simultaneously fell on Samantha Tate’s face, their gazes filled with inexplicable anticipation...
