Three Towers Game

Chapter 297: Revised: Chapter 115: The Living Game_6

[Mission Reward: 25% Thirst Resistance, 25% Hunger Resistance]

After the prompt appeared, Wen Xishu hadn’t drunk any water yet, but he suddenly felt he wasn’t as hungry anymore.

At this moment, he took out half a bottle of water and drank it in two gulps. The thirst was completely gone, and Wen Xishu felt unprecedented relief.

At the same time, Wen Xishu noticed that the ”majority” in his vision changed, turning into ”part of the thirsty and hungry resistant people.”

He stood on the rooftop, looking at the zombies wandering below, pondering:

”It seems this counts as a novice mission. This mission actually shows the designer’s intention—how a majority, through various choices in this apocalyptic world, evolves into ’the only one.’

”I’ve now evolved from ’the majority’ to ’a part.’ For the next missions, with the right choices, I’ll slowly become rarer, like the minority, or even the very rare...”

”But will the mission style of this game continue to be like this?”

Though Wen Xishu wasn’t averse to this kind of game storyline that sets people on a journey, he wondered if the game was entirely this ”self-serving.”

”Also, on the fifteenth floor of the Desire Tower World, the apocalypse likely hasn’t descended. Right now, I’m in a game designed by someone. This game’s talk of dreams and assets... how will it manifest in the Desire Tower?”

Wen Xishu reopened the Compass. The True Fate Compass could lead Ding Dong to avoid the Three Tower War, and the Fake Fate Compass helped Wen Xishu find suitable missions, which wasn’t difficult.

He quickly set into action; the previous novice mission was very simple, with just half a skull, as the mission had almost no difficulty.

But the next place Wen Xishu headed to had three skulls.

...

...

Some questions Wen Xishu couldn’t answer himself, but he could learn part of the answers through conversations.

As Wen Xishu headed towards the three-skull mission area, he also monitored other people’s messages.

[Tam: This crappy game is really interesting. I just did something in the Deceit Tower that can only be done in the Desire Tower; the mission reward was even a beautiful woman offering herself to me. Hahaha, what fifteenth floor of the Deceit Tower? It’s nothing! Next, I’m going to conquer more women.]

Tam’s words made Wen Xishu feel something was amiss.

Tam’s game style, though significantly different due to pay-to-win mechanics, had mission styles that were different as well? According to Tam’s words, he had just completed a mission, and the reward was a beautiful woman.

A second ago, Wen Xishu still felt the game’s style seemed to be a dark, realistic apocalyptic game, with some professions involving ethical dilemmas.

But now, Tam gave Wen Xishu a feeling of a re-skinned national war game—expanding territories, fighting zombies, collecting beauties...

Honestly, Wen Xishu wasn’t envious. He just thought—this is very strange.

So far, Wen Xishu hadn’t encountered many things that felt like the Deceit Tower style. But Tam’s words just now made him feel something odd.

[Eldest Young Master Ye: People obsessed with women will only get lost in the apocalypse. Just now, through a mission, I successfully established a trade route for the two camps of survivors in the commercial street and residential area. Now, people from both camps have a regular market for trading supplies. I’m too talented; even this damned apocalypse is impressed by my business acumen.]

[Baby-faced Wolf: I really envy you all, happily indulging and not being disturbed by the true harshness of the apocalypse. But I don’t regret my choice, though I bear it all.]

Wen Xishu gradually started to figure things out, and the next words from Tokugawa River almost confirmed his hypothesis.

[Tokugawa River: I just helped a woman find medicine to treat her child. Her child was infected... but I spent some asset value to exchange for an antidote, and now her whole family is very grateful to me. There is warmth even in the apocalypse.]

Tam is a criminal, craving the simplest desires...women, destruction, expansion, very straightforward.

And Ye Lingfeng, a guy who loves to flaunt wealth, his game conveniently turned into an apocalyptic businessman simulator.

As for Baby-faced Wolf, it’s unclear for now, but this depth-loving style remains the same, so he must be satisfied with the role he plays in the game.

Wen Xishu initially wasn’t sure because their methods seemed feasible.

But the following words from Tokugawa River made Wen Xishu feel it was too coincidental.

Tokugawa River had said he came to the Deceit Tower to fight for a job for his child.

This means he values family. Coincidentally, he experienced almost the same mission as mine.

The difference is, the ”pay-to-win system” gave Tokugawa River a completely out-of-apocalypse-worthy option—the antidote.

If there is an antidote, is there still a need for the apocalypse?

Wen Xishu now could almost confirm... the game morphs and extends according to the players’ pay-to-win desires.

Until now, Wen Xishu seemed to understand the information in the mission description—

”Here, you’ll truly feel the weight of dreams. All your actions will make value judgments for your dreams.”

He finally completely comprehended the meaning of this sentence.

”This game is just like a living thing.”

At this moment, Wen Xishu suddenly became very curious—if the Blind, who is always seeking death, paid money, what would change?

He found something very surprising; surprisingly, the Blind hadn’t died yet.
