Three Towers Game

Chapter 274: Chapter 112: The First Journey to the Slaughter Tower Concludes

”Let’s go, we need to head back. My Slaughter Value is almost at its limit,” Xun Hui said.

The setting of the Slaughter Value meant that low-level Bunker Tower Climbers didn’t even have the chance to kill boss-level monsters.

But from the previous hint, Wen Xishu felt that this game still had an assistance mechanism.

At least when facing top-level bosses, it was present.

The two started to walk back. They didn’t encounter any monsters along the way. In fact, some area defenders had observed the fight just now.

For these area defenders, the sight of Xun Hui killing the Ghost Bride was enough to make them huddle in their areas, not daring to come out.

They quickly reached the supermarket and returned to the bonfire.

Yue Yun said with admiration:

”Seeing the kill count, I really didn’t expect it to be this quick.”

Xun Hui was actually a bit tired:

”I really need to rest this time. Although I was in the Ghost Bride’s mental world for only a short while, the grievances have still invaded. I need the bonfire to completely dispel these effects.”

Xiaojin and Nissen and Yue Yun were all very impressed and envious. Even though he said he needed to rest, Xun Hui seemed very nonchalant.

The monsters he killed just now were the kind that everyone except Albert would immediately try to escape from upon sight.

But Xun Hui was only slightly tired.

Yue Yun knew that the smooth progress was probably also related to Wenxun.

Wen Xishu said:

”When I go back... I need to write a tower climbing report. Should I describe it truthfully? It’s required by the Bunker Security Bureau.”

For once, Xun Hui could look at Wen Xishu like he was a fool:

”What is the Security Bureau? What right do they have to require you to do that? Tell them you’re not writing it.”

That’s exactly the answer Wen Xishu wanted.

What Wen Xishu didn’t know was that not long ago, Xun Hui had also slaughtered the Section Chief who Liu Jinsen said wanted to make an example out of him.

And this time, Xun Hui had already hit his Slaughter Value limit twice in a row during this tower climb and was currently very irritable. He couldn’t help but ask:

”Specifically, who at the Security Bureau asked you to write it?”

”I don’t know.”

”Who is your contact?”

”A friend.”

Although Wen Xishu didn’t know what Xun Hui wanted to do, he felt that if he truthfully mentioned Mr. Liu’s name... Mr. Liu might be in for a hard time.

When he heard it was a friend, the faint crimson in Xun Hui’s eyes dimmed.

”In any case, you can refuse any unreasonable requests from the Security Bureau now. You are a student of the Three Towers Academy, Wenxun. In the bunker, human lives are inherently divided into high and low status, and the students of our Academy are a cut above, even several cuts above. Understand?”

This was obviously a very incorrect statement, but the bunker was clearly not a normal social system either.

In this age lacking heroes, Xun Hui’s attitude was actually the correct one.

Wen Xishu mentioning the Security Bureau didn’t really fear exposing anything. It was normal for Slaughter Tower students to come into contact with the Security Bureau.

Nissen, Yue Yun, and Xiaojin didn’t find it unreasonable, they just didn’t expect Wenxun, who had just entered school, to be targeted by the Security Bureau. This showed that Wenxun indeed had potential.

”From here on, there’s nothing more for you. I need three days to kill three monsters, and I should be able to successfully return.”

”Where we are, there aren’t large groups of monsters, but fortunately, there are many different areas here. If I’m not mistaken, this should be on the outskirts of Hu City.”

”According to what the mirror described, even on the outskirts, Hu City has a lot of invaders. There are many areas here. It’s a more demonic city than Deep City.”

”I don’t have information on other monsters. I don’t know their attack patterns at each stage, and unlike the Ghost Bride, most monsters rely on their own abilities rather than tools.”

”Therefore, I can’t take you along this time.”

Wen Xishu nodded:

”Alright, my companions and I will stay by the bonfire.”

Right now, the core function of the Phoenix Gloves was temporarily unusable, and other tools couldn’t exert much power at this level.

Wen Xishu felt that he had already overachieved his task.

...

...

The first night in the Slaughter Tower came quickly.

This night was thrilling but not dangerous.

Wen Xishu and his companions encountered a ”Visitor.”

Visitors were different from invaders. Invaders would directly break into an area and fight the area defenders. But visitors were the kind who would induce you to invite them into the area.

Once you did invite them, you would fall at a natural disadvantage.

This was knowledge Wen Xishu had picked up from subtle hints in the chat channels.

The visitor at the supermarket was a fat man dressed in a security guard uniform, emitting an eerie green glow.

He made a request:

”Can you give me some food?”

To this, Wen Xishu and the others chose not to respond.

At first, the fat man in the security guard uniform pleaded, but then he started to get angry. Yet, under Wen Xishu’s instruction, everyone kept ignoring him.

In the end, the fat man in the security guard uniform could only leave, cursing.

Afterward, Xun Hui praised:

”Your response was correct. Remember, the vast majority of monsters in the Slaughter Tower World don’t speak human language. If you encounter one that can, it’s almost always going to attack you immediately.”

”And the few that don’t attack immediately are probably just waiting for your ’invitation.’”

”Visitors are a special kind of monster. Once invited, they can devour the rules of the area, causing the area defenders to lose their home advantage. Conversely, if they don’t get an invitation... they will be weakened when entering the area.”
