Three Towers Game

Chapter 283: Chapter 113: Preparation Before the 6th Tower Climb_4

”I used to have teammates, but now he’s hiding, and I can’t rely on him anymore. Fortunately, I can still see hope in you young people. I will try to live a bit longer.”

Albert glanced at Xiaojin as he said this. After finishing, he looked at Xun Hui and said:

”You didn’t come to me just to praise your juniors, did you? Is there something else?”

Xun Hui replied:

”There’s one more thing. I got something here, a coffin. Do you want to trade with me?”

Wen Xishu was taken aback. They really did get a coffin. Senior Xun’s luck is quite impressive.

”The Ghost Bride’s coffin? Not bad. I’ve been thinking recently, changing places to sleep, lying in a coffin seems like an interesting choice.”

Albert accepted the trade.

Xun Hui said:

”Alright, just give me something of equal value for the exchange.”

Although the coffin was good, Xun Hui couldn’t use it. His fighting style didn’t allow for such... seemingly wicked tactics.

Albert wanting to use the Ghost Bride’s coffin as a bed really left Wen Xishu stunned.

This old man truly lived like he was indulging in self-torture.

He soon realized that Xun Hui might have traded with Albert more than once before.

Their mentor-student bond was strong. When Xun Hui got something good, his first thought might not be to keep it for himself, but rather, if giving it to his teacher would be better.

Xun Hui nodded:

”Later, go to the storage area and I’ll give it to you. Also, I think Wenxun has some questions for you.”

The topic suddenly shifted to Wen Xishu, leaving him momentarily confused. But soon, Wen Xishu began to explain the reason behind his recent tower retreat and kills.

Some questions were known by the guide, and presumably by the headmaster too.

After listening, Albert did not question how Wen Xishu advanced the timeline but felt very gratified:

”In fact, over the years, the timeline hasn’t been unchanging, but the progress has been minimal.”

”You’ve done very well. This way, we can interact with later versions of the monsters.”

Wen Xishu asked what he wanted to know:

”Is one day in the Bunker the same as one day in the Slaughter Tower?”

”If the time flow is the same, wouldn’t I never catch up with the real world’s time?”

”After all, real-world time won’t stop. And if I encounter the Ghost Bride in the Deceit Tower and reset her fate, will she return?”

The guide didn’t actually answer this question, only informing Wen Xishu of the impact of tower retreat killing.

Albert said:

”Let me answer your first question. Unfortunately, the time flow in the Three Towers is the same as in the Bunker.”

”If you spend seven days in the Slaughter Tower, seven days will pass here as well.”

”However, there are indeed ways to jump timelines significantly, but this method is not accessible now. Some answers are written on the hundredth level.”

As Wen Xishu thought, the headmaster’s obsession with breaking through the hundredth level was because the hundredth level held certain secrets.

Albert said:

”Your primary task is to find a way to break through levels. The benefits of breaking through levels are many, which you will understand later.”

”Of course, being able to retreat and kill is very good.”

”I quite look forward to seeing what changes will come in the higher-level overlords or leaders.”

”As for your second question, I can tell you that she will return. But none of you will remember her, except the person who altered her fate.”

Wen Xishu realized:

”You mean... if the Ghost Bride returns, except for the person who anchored her fate track in the Deceit Tower and Desire Tower, everyone else will forget her appearance?”

Albert nodded:

”Yes, we tested this with one of my students.”

This student must have been Wen Chaohua, Wen Xishu guessed. Considering Xiaojin, Yue Yun, and Nissen were present, the headmaster didn’t mention the name.

Albert continued:

”In the end, we found that a certain leadership-level presence in the Slaughter Tower indeed returned.”

”Only, at first, only my student remembered. Even I had to use his tool, a letter related to that leader, to recall everything.”

A letter.

It seemed somewhat similar to Tang Rui’s situation where maxing out favorability triggered it.

Only, this kind of letter shouldn’t have been tradeable, but Wen Chaohua’s methods were indeed peculiar.

”So just like anchoring history will change the memories of everyone but the invitation holder...”

”If the Ghost Bride returns, only I will remember her. Senior Xun will forget her, even if he has killed her before.”

”Memories might automatically adjust to a logically consistent result. This appears to be one rule upheld by the Three Towers.”

Wen Xishu finally understood the mechanism.

Albert said:

”If you can retreat and kill, then do so as much as possible. Our Slaughter Tower environment is still in the early apocalypse. Retreat and kill will advance the timeline, allowing us to see more diverse monsters.”

Wen Xishu nodded, acknowledging this point. However, his next statement was quite villainous:

”Thank you, Headmaster, you’ve cleared up many of my doubts. Next, I’d like to make a trade with you.”

Wen Xishu’s expression turned serious, but he had a rather innocent smile on his face.

Albert nodded:

”Let’s hear it.”
