Three Towers Game

Chapter 296: Chapter 115: Live Game_5

Wen Xishu chose the task of a family reunion.

At this moment, the cruel side of the game revealed itself.

Wen Xishu said:

”Is your daughter infected?”

The girl lay on the bed, with a wound on her arm, her lips were purple, and from time to time one could see something like a worm lurking under her skin, crawling as if it were a moving wrinkle.

The woman seemed unable to accept this idea:

”No! She’s not infected, she’s not infected, she just has a cold.”

Wen Xishu completely calmed down:

”Do you have anything to tell me about this disaster?”

The woman shook her head, her eyes just staring at Wen Xishu’s pocket:

”I don’t know anything, please... leave me a mouthful of water!”

Wen Xishu asked again:

”Fine, but can you tell me any useful information about this apocalypse?”

The woman still shook her head.

Wen Xishu was sure that the woman’s life and her daughter’s life were not enough for her to deliberately conceal information.

So he said:

”Alright, it seems this task is just to test my moral tendencies...”

”Your daughter is about to turn into a zombie, you can’t survive without water, let me tell you your upcoming fate.”

”This world belongs to the zombies, you and your daughter must accept this, you are about to embrace a new life, a life where you don’t need to worry about water and food, and seeing humans you wouldn’t need to run and fear, but rather pounce on them excitedly. Isn’t that wonderful.”

”By the way, the girl’s father has been guarding you outside for a long time, it’s time for your family to reunite. Sorry, I’ve talked too much. I should save my breath.”

As Wen Xishu spoke, he opened the door.

The sound of the door opening instantly attracted other zombies. The zombie in a military green coat at the staircase was even running at an abnormal speed for a zombie.

It let out a terrifying roar, filled with a rotting stench, like a wolf whose territory had been invaded.

It began to wildly beat other zombies, then used a steel pipe to sweep away the wire mesh at the door, and rushed into room 2111.

Wen Xishu had already retreated to the windowsill.

He witnessed a cruel scene.

The woman looked at the zombie in the military green coat, first stunned, then burst out crying loudly.

The zombie tilted its head as if recalling something in its mind, but only for a few seconds.

Then, without any melodrama or surprise, it bit into the woman’s neck.

At that moment, the girl lying on the bed let out a groan with the same decayed breath.

The family of three, reunited.

Wen Xishu actually didn’t like the process of this task, he just guessed the design of the task arrangement.

The male zombie was the head of the family, taking his wife and daughter to this city for a vacation.

During the zombie outbreak, the man single-handedly guarded the floor but was also bitten.

With a strong will, he imprinted a mark in his now zombie brain — no one is allowed near 2111.

But he couldn’t actually recognize his daughter and wife anymore. His wife and daughter also gradually fell into a dire situation without water and food.

The mother and daughter accidentally discovered that the zombies on the floor seemed to avoid them because their zombie father was protecting them.

Naively, the daughter seemed to try to communicate with her father to awaken his humanity.

She believed that even as a zombie, her father would still protect her.

But she was wrong. The father, though still having some memories in his zombie brain, ultimately couldn’t overcome his instincts. The girl was scratched as a result.

This was a desperate family, with little water and food left. The daughter was ill, and the zombie father, while protecting them, also cut off their escape route.

In the apocalypse, a family like this certainly couldn’t survive.

So, the game designers created a sadistic design—

The task, which appears warm as a family reunion, actually has a very cruel ending.

You have to make the husband who guards the mother and daughter personally kill his wife, then the family of three reunites as zombies.

Of course, you could also choose the second task, toiling away.

Most likely, it’s a task where you, like a tool, are told to find water and food for the girl and woman, to extend the girl’s life with kindness, preventing tragedy from happening.

Like in those idiotic games where NPCs ask you to gather items.

But this task would inevitably be a wrong choice. The real apocalypse is brutal, and Wen Xishu, in hunger and thirst and knowing the other wouldn’t survive, could only make the real choice of the first option.

When the monster in the military green coat finally rushed into room 2111, it hesitated only slightly before biting to death its former wife.

However, at that moment, the zombie might indeed have felt a fluctuation of emotion.

It dropped the steel pipe in its hand.

Although Wen Xishu didn’t care about the steel pipe, he still picked it up, then retreated to the windowsill and climbed out, relying on his explosive power to keep jumping.

Although the power of his extreme kick was weakened in this savior’s game, his jumping ability was still astounding.

With little effort, Wen Xishu returned to the twenty-fourth floor.

At the same time, he received a mission prompt.

[Your rationality, cruelty, and aggressiveness have given you the ability to survive in the apocalypse. Congratulations, you are no longer among the masses, you have proven that you have the qualifications to advance to savior and to win that special prize. This is a world where villains grapple with each other. There are still many villains lurking in this city, perhaps you should continue your journey to the next place.]
