Three Towers Game

Chapter 268: Revised: Chapter 111 First Tower Kill and Wen Chaohua Time Theory

Xun Hui and Wen Xishu really left the supermarket.

Xun Hui’s last words were actually to ensure the personal safety of Yue Yun and the others. The hunting about to begin was the peak of the leader-level.

If they couldn’t contribute at the core, there was no need to bring them along.

Xun Hui’s action was reasonable.

But the feeling of being relegated to the background really wasn’t good. For the first time, Xiaojin felt a sense of defeat.

”Wow, this feeling, it’s the first time,” Xiaojin squatted by the campfire, still smiling, but his eyes showed some unwillingness and sadness.

Nissen, however, was more optimistic. He said:

”Wen’s ability seems to be far above ours. When he’s with Senior Xun, they really look like partners.”

Yue Yun clenched his fist. He was determined and courageous enough to come here without choosing life-saving tools, but weapons instead, to prove his bravery.

But now, he felt like a burden.

Xiaojin, deep down, knew his own talent. Though he had always obeyed his grandfather and wasn’t arrogant or looked down on others.

Maybe in the future, he would join Senior Xun to become the strongest duo in Slaughter Tower. But now, he found he couldn’t even help.

Nissen seemed to feel this atmosphere, clapping his hands:

”Hey, bro, don’t get discouraged. Wen is our friend. When a friend performs well, we should be happy for them!”

”If we surpassed everyone early, there would be bigger troubles waiting for us. Now, we should be thankful that all we need to think about is how to work hard to catch up with Wen!”

Nissen flashed a big bright smile; he was always the cheeriest in the team.

Yue Yun looked at Nissen’s silly happy face, nodded, and said:

”Your mindset is better than mine.”

He didn’t really need comfort. Although slightly affected, he wasn’t depressed. Nissen’s words made him come around quickly.

Nissen laughed:

”I also thought about it. Am I the one-in-a-million genius? But upon entering Slaughter Tower Academy, I realized there are many better than me. So, I can only change my perspective.”

Yue Yun shook his head and said:

”We are not as talented as Wenxun, but it doesn’t mean we are useless. Nissen, we need to work harder. Xiaojin, you too, don’t feel dejected. You are even stronger than Nissen and me, maybe even Miyamoto Yishu is not as good as you.”

Xiaojin felt a bit struck:

”Wow, Brother Yun, Brother Nissen, you guys are so good, but I... I couldn’t help at all this time.”

Yue Yun said:

”Senior Xun has been stuck on the fifty-ninth floor for a while. If we can’t help now, we will help in the future.”

”Moreover, Wenxun’s achievements were fought for in Deceit Tower. It’s a different path. Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, why don’t we review and reflect on why Wenxun could find the monster’s weakness, but we couldn’t?”

”Maybe we should learn his way of thinking?”

Xiaojin raised his head:

”Ah... right! Grandpa told me, if I meet someone better than me, I should learn their strengths!”

Yue Yun nodded and beckoned.

The three of them gathered together and began to slowly review the previous situation.

Yue Yun saw the gap in talent, but he firmly believed that his efforts would surely bring results.

...

...

Xun Hui and Wen Xishu were now on the streets of this unknown city.

In the distant fog, occasionally gigantic figures would appear, and occasionally ghostly monster-like flashes would pass by.

But their attention was always on the ”coffin bearers” ahead.

”Senior Xun, I have a question.” Wen Xishu looked at the group of coffin bearers ahead.

They were about two hundred meters away from the Ghost Bride. They didn’t take action immediately, planning to observe first, in case other monsters appeared during their action, making them the mantis stalked by the hornet.

”Ask, but keep it short.” Xun Hui was still unsure if it was the right time to act.

He didn’t want to delay due to conversation if a chance came.

”You’re not confident in dealing with it, right? But when I brought it up, you didn’t hesitate much. Is the loot going to be abundant?” Wen Xishu asked.

Xun Hui gazed forward:

”What you want to ask is about the first kill, right?”

Wen Xishu nodded:

”Exactly. More precisely, about the concept of first kill and the time mechanism it triggers. But could you explain the first kill first?”

Xun Hui’s eyes never wavered. He was observing each coffin bearer’s movements.

”In Slaughter Tower, if you are the first one to kill a monster, it counts as your personal first kill. A personal first kill grants you significant experience, increasing your Slaughter Tower level.”

”In other words, Slaughter Tower encourages you to kill different types of monsters.”

Wen Xishu said:

”But each monster is unique. This world doesn’t have identical creatures, right?”

Xun Hui said:

”That’s something your cultural studies teacher should explain, about evolution paths. In short, killing monsters with different evolutionary traits counts as your personal first kill.”

”To give an example of a common type, like those I encountered in Yanjing. Most of those common types are similar and often act in groups. Although there are individual differences, they count as the same type of monster.”
