I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 530, The Green-Haired Girl on the Ice

Ye Jiu drove the sled forward continuously, maintaining a very balanced speed throughout. She surveyed the surroundings and asked, “Shaman, where should we go next? Looking ahead, we can’t see the end to anywhere.”

“Let’s just keep moving forward. There’s nothing else to do anyway.” Su Bai said indifferently. Rather than returning to the Tribe, it would be better to spend more time travelling on the ice surface.

There was not much to do back at the Tribe anyway, and now they could explore the surroundings of the Flame Dragon Tribe. This had been the purpose of coming out today.

“Yes,” Ye Jiu nodded and continued operating the sled.

*Creak, creak…*

*Woof woof woof…*

The two sled dogs kept running energetically. Their forward speed did not slow down at all, maintaining the same pace as when they started.

“Shaman, are you hungry? Shall we eat something?” Yu Ying suddenly asked.

Su Bai blinked his black eyes and looked at Yu Ying, asking, “I’m fine. If you’re hungry, let’s stop and eat something first.”

*Rumble rumble…* Yu Ying unconsciously touched her stomach and said embarrassedly, “Shaman, I am a bit hungry.”

She had not eaten much in the morning, just a small bowl of wheat porridge. Although drinking a bowl of steaming hot wheat porridge in this weather was quite comfortable, she had drunk rather little, mainly because she suddenly did not have much of an appetite. But now she suddenly felt like eating something.

“Alright, let’s stop and eat something first then, and give those sled dogs some food as well.” Su Bai instructed.

“Okay.” Ye Jiu immediately nodded, preparing to control the sled dogs to stop.

The two sleds behind saw the signal and also controlled their sleds to stop.

“Good thing we brought plenty of food on this trip, otherwise we would have had to go back.” Yu Ying said gratefully.

Bringing food on this outing had been Su Bai’s idea. He had originally planned to explore on the ice surface for some time.

But no one knew how long they would stay outside, so he had people prepare some food in advance.

“Shaman, wouldn’t it be a bit wasteful to eat preserved meat now?” Sha Lan was rather concerned about supplies.

“It’s fine. The Tribe doesn’t lack food now. Just freely eat.” Su Bai said indifferently.

Although preserved meat was currently the Tribe’s main delicacy, because it took time to make, it would not be brought out to eat except at crucial moments. Usually, they would eat dried meat first.

“Yes,” Sha Lan helped Yu Ying organise the preserved meat together.

They carried out the preserved meat and took out plates to pour the meat from the preserved meat containers.

When the preserved meat was just opened, waves of fragrance immediately wafted out. That smell was delicious no matter how many times one smelled it.

“Be careful when eating. This preserved meat is made from fish, so mind the fish bones,” Su Bai reminded them.

He was not worried about anyone else, only concerned about Yan Hua, because she ate far too quickly and was quite bold about it. He was worried she might choke on fish bones.

Yan Hua seemed unconcerned about anything, absent-mindedly nodding, but her eyes kept looking at the fish meat on the plate, her throat involuntarily moving.

After everyone ate the preserved meat, they continued their journey. However, just after setting off, Sha Lan discovered something rather different.

Sha Lan adjusted the telescope in her hands to look into the distance, frowning, “Shaman, there seems to be a person ahead.”

Su Bai took the telescope and looked ahead, indeed discovering a person. He said, “Let’s go take a look.”

“Shaman, this is too dangerous. You cannot approach that unknown person.” Ye Jiu immediately stopped him. No one knew who that person was.

“This should not be a problem. We have more people, and there’s only one of them.” Su Bai said indifferently.

His Danger Foresight had not activated, which meant that person posed no danger. Moreover, they had so many Totem Warriors, so there was nothing to worry about.

“Okay.” Ye Jiu responded, controlling the sled dogs to head towards that person’s direction.

*Creak, creak…*

*Woof woof woof…*

Over ten minutes later, the sled stopped on the ice surface not far from that person. Su Bai immediately saw that person.

That person had short green hair and green eyes that were staring straight at them.

The expression on her face was full of puzzlement, followed by wariness. Although her appearance was not that of a striking beauty, she looked reasonably well-featured, giving off a feeling of the girl next door.

“Who are you people?” She immediately became alert, the spear in her hands pointing straight at Su Bai and the others.

Ye Jiu immediately stepped forward, extending her hand to block, coldly warning, “I advise you not to act rashly.”

Ye Jiu’s combat knife was already prepared. If the opponent dared make any sudden moves, she would definitely immediately rush over to cut her throat.

The other Totem Warriors also became alert, all moving forward from behind with their weapons ready.

Su Bai raised his hand to gesture for everyone to calm down. The girl’s reaction was normal. It would be strange if the opposing girl was not frightened when facing so many people.

Having so many people all holding weapons pointed at her was naturally going to elicit a negative response, especially since the spear in her hands looked quite worn.

“Who are you? Why are you here?” Su Bai was the first to speak.

The green-haired girl was obviously somewhat frightened and did not know what to do for a moment. Seeing the opponent’s numbers and weapons were all superior to her own, and moreover they had so many beasts she could not name, she alone was surely no match for them.

She gripped that spear tightly in her hands, rather regretting why she had left everyone alone to come here.

The green-haired girl swallowed and looked at those people, mustering courage to ask back, “Who are you then?”

At this moment she could only take a gamble. She could not let the opponents see that she was very afraid, otherwise would that not make the situation even worse?

“We bear no ill intentions. We just happened to pass by here and wanted to see if there were any Tribes nearby, then we saw you.” Su Bai said gently.

Hearing the opponent’s tone and seeing that expression, he knew the opponent must be very nervous and afraid at this moment, so he tried to make himself appear more friendly. After all, suddenly encountering a person on this endless ice surface meant there should be a Tribe nearby, so he needed to seize the opportunity to ask about it.

Because he saw that the opponent’s attire did not look like that of a Wanderer. She was wearing very thick Animal Hide, suggesting she was not someone who lacked Animal Hide. As for why she was here, that was unknown.

“You’re looking for Tribes in this area? Why are you looking for Tribes? Don’t you have a Tribe?” The green-haired girl became even more alert upon hearing this.

She gripped the spear in her hands even tighter, unconsciously taking two steps backward.
