I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 513, Watching the Show

“Hahahahaha….” The wooden house was filled with laughter, but this laughter was not one of enjoyment, rather one of extreme suffering.

Feng’s face had tears of laughter streaming down it as he continued to laugh, clearly in tremendous pain.

But Qing Mu and Chi Tu showed no intention of stopping, as they had not received any orders to do so.

Su Bai sat down on the stool that had been brought over, quietly watching the other person’s suffering.

At this moment, he did not want to stop yet, otherwise the other would not reveal the truth. He needed to wait until the other was in even more pain before stopping.

“Shaman, can you… can you hahahahaha… make them stop? This is really… really unbearable…” Feng begged whilst laughing uncontrollably.

This sensation made him feel extremely uncomfortable, his entire body was in pain and itching, but with his body bound and completely immobile, he was entirely at their mercy.

“Which Tribe do you really come from? And what is your purpose for coming to our Flame Dragon Tribe?” Su Bai suddenly sat up straight and asked seriously.

“I… hahahahaha… ha…” Feng originally intended to speak, but after thinking for a moment, he closed his mouth again.

After all, they were not directly threatening his life, so this level of suffering was still bearable. He could not easily reveal his Tribe.

Su Bai’s thick eyebrows raised slightly, rather admiring the other person’s attitude.

He leaned back against the chair and smiled, saying. “Since you refuse to speak, then your suffering shall continue.”

Qing Mu and Chi Tu nodded, continuing to use the feathers to increase the speed of their tickling.

Another five minutes passed, and Feng was now convulsing with laughter, not only continuously crying, but even drooling.

He looked extremely dishevelled, his entire body slumped in the chair, unable to move.

It could be said that after being tickled for so long, he had become somewhat immune. Though still very uncomfortable, he was no longer reacting as strongly.

“Let’s try another method,” Su Bai put down the tea he had been enjoying and instructed. [Since you refuse taking the easy way, seems like we would need to actually start with some real torture methods now.] “Place stones under his calves, keep adding them until no more can be added.”

This was the second method he had thought of: the ‘tiger bench torture’ (老虎凳). This method was quite merciless.

This method involved placing the victim’s legs on a long bench, straightening them and binding the thighs firmly to the bench with ropes or leather straps.

The tighter the binding, the more effective the torture. The feet would be bound separately with rope, but the calves and feet were not fixed to the bench.

After binding, bricks would be placed under the victim’s feet, causing the legs to be completely straightened and raised. As the number of bricks increased, the legs would become increasingly painful.

Since the thighs were fixed to the bench, all force would be applied to the knee joints, causing extreme suffering to the victim, sometimes even breaking their bones due to the sheer force.

If one or two bricks could be endured with gritted teeth, by the time the bricks increased to three, the victim would be drenched in sweat, clenching their teeth.

At this point, the torturer would deliberately pause, allowing the three bricks to torment the person for a period of time, threatening and attempting to extract a confession.

If the victim did not comply, they would be whipped. If they still remained unmoved, the victim’s feet would be forcefully raised further, and with a scream, a fourth brick would be placed underneath. Four bricks was generally the Human limit.

At this point, many victims would faint, only to be quickly awakened with cold water.

With hands and feet tightly bound by ropes, no matter how much pain the victim suffered, they could not escape, not even able to struggle with their legs.

Struggling requires movement at the joints, but when on the tiger bench, the legs and knee joints were completely bound and fixed. The body would bear a heavy pressure, and all movement would be made impossible for this torture method to work.

Previously with this method, some people subjectively speculated that the victim could alleviate pain by straightening the feet, but this was not valid.

If shackles, ropes, and iron windows deprived people of their freedom, then those on the tiger bench could be said to have been deprived of even the right to struggle.

This method was not something many could endure; the pain was extremely difficult to bear, and often many could not withstand it after just one or two more bricks.

The reason Su Bai used this method now was because the other party had refused to take the easy way out. Now, he would have to make the other person properly experience the taste of suffering, to let them know that the Flame Dragon Tribe was not so easily violated.

Additionally, he did not want to use a whip or methods like cutting off fingers or other bloody approaches. Using methods where blood could not be seen was actually the most cruel. This method wears down a person’s will, and was far more terrifying than directly chopping off their hand.

“Yes.” Qing Mu and Chi Tu followed the instructions accordingly.

Just imagining what was about to happen, Qing Mu and Chi Tu began counting down for the other person. They knew just how terrible this method was.

Still, since this was their enemy, they need not show any compassion. Now, they were curious to see at which stone the other party would be unable to resist and speak out.

“Ahhhhh…” Although Feng was a Totem Warrior, he was not invulnerable.

Pain was still felt, and just after the second stone was added, he was already starting to struggle.

Qing Mu and Chi Tu continued to add a third stone, seeing that the other’s expression was truly one of extreme suffering.

“What is this… ahhhhh…” Feng could barely endure it anymore, his entire body breaking out in a cold sweat.

The veins on his forehead bulged out, his entire being was in extreme pain. Having been tortured with feathers just moments before and now being treated this way.

“Don’t add any more for now, let him suffer like this for a while.” Su Bai raised his hand. [Many people can’t endure the third ‘brick’. No need to add the fourth one for now.]

“Yes.” Qing Mu and Chi Tu stopped.

Su Bai’s black eyes remained fixed on the other person as he asked. “Well? Which Tribe are you from?”

Feng frowned, his painful expression fully visible as he shouted, “I don’t know!”

“Haaaa…” Su Bai sighed, no longer addressing the other. He believed the other would not be able to endure this feeling for much longer.

“Shaman, should we continue to add more?” Qing Mu asked seriously.

“Not yet, leave him like this, and continue to tickle his feet with the feathers,” Su Bai said calmly.

“Yes.” Qing Mu nodded.

Su Bai blinked his black eyes while watching the other, calmly drinking his tea as he waited.

Feng widened his eyes, constantly trying to twist his body and struggle, just wanting to relieve this discomfort.

But no matter how he twisted, there was no way to get relief as the suffering continued.
