Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 884: Chapter 883: You Can Always Trust Your Captain (Heavy Fog)

If someone else said this to her, Ulti would think they were joking, but it was Yamato who said it, so there’s a good chance she really means it.

The cabin became lively again, but this didn’t affect the steps of the Thousand-Year Dragon. The clouds covered them, preventing the navy ships below from discovering the Thousand-Year Dragon group above. The dragons changed direction and flew towards the distance after surpassing the navy group below.

The sky had become strange at this time. From a distance, it looked no different from the outside sea, but as they got closer, they discovered it was a special phantom like a mirage.

The leading Thousand-Year Dragon disappeared from everyone’s sight after crossing this sea area.

”Huh, does East Sea also have such special sea areas? I thought only the weather of the Grand Line was this bizarre.”

Although it was novel, to Yamato, this was not surprising.

The New World is special not just because of its unpredictable weather, but also its amazing island formations.

Besides bizarre weather like falling knives, some islands are filled with invisible bridges of air, appearing to be empty, yet allowing people to run freely on them.

Some islands have very unique gravity environments, and some are even entirely made of food.

All this was attributed to the wonders of the Grand Line, but it seems she underestimated this world.

”Ferren, is this your Dragon Island? It looks a bit... desolate.”

After passing through a storm zone, a desolate island appeared in their view. If this was their destination, Yamato felt somewhat disappointed.

”Roar~”

Ferren’s father let out two roars, and Ferren started translating his father’s words.

”Father said this is the island he frequently visited when he was young. Back then, there was an ancient human kingdom here.

Because of the mirage-like barrier outside, the people living here were reclusive, having nothing to do with the outside world’s disputes.

Our clan often passed by here, and the people regarded flying us as mysterious beings and respected us greatly, but now everything is different.”

The lifespan of the Thousand-Year Dragon is extremely long; some people never get to witness them in their lifetime. For the older members of this clan, this island is like a convenience store at their doorstep.

After traveling outside for years, they always want to come in and look for some childhood memories when they return, but the return period for Thousand-Year Dragons is too far for humans. By the time they return, everything has changed.

”Speaking of which, that over there looks quite like a castle.”

”Father said that used to be the human kingdom, and there are some very interesting murals inside. You can go take a look if you’re interested.”

Just then, a flock of small birds flew past them, seemingly drawn to the Thousand-Year Dragons.

Although they were similar in size to regular small birds, their appearance had some resemblance to the Thousand-Year Dragon’s form.

”Ferren, are these your young offspring?”

”No, you’ve seen the kids from our clan. They’re much bigger than these birds. This is just another kind of bird that shares a common ancestor with us, but they always live here... No, there’s someone else on this island.”

A puff of smoke rose from the island, and an unidentified object was rapidly descending from above. Upon closer look, a shadow resembling the Thousand-Year Dragon could be seen on a cart.

This is Luffy and his friends escorting the Dragon Grandpa back to the Dragon Cave. Guided by the Dragon Grandpa, they also came to this island, but there was still some time before the Dragon Cave would appear, and they were somewhat off course from its location, so they didn’t find their destination.

Moreover, Dragon Grandpa had always been hunted by others, and those greedy for the Thousand-Year Dragon’s bone had caught up, which is why Luffy and his crew were making a high-speed descent from above, with Zoro covering the rear.

...

”Are they trying a new trick or something? Grass sliding?”

”Who knows, but it’s nice to move around a bit. Let’s go, little Pei, speed descent!”

Ulti unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the cabin door, and with one hand on her collar and the other around Page One’s neck, she jumped out.

They were originally accompanying the Thousand-Year Dragon back home, and now that there’s a special situation below, including a strange Thousand-Year Dragon, they couldn’t just ignore it. So Ulti pulled Page One and jumped down.

”Can’t you get your own parachute, sis?”

”No, that’s too slow, and you’re more convenient, little Pei, you’re the best~”

”I don’t want to be praised by you in this matter at all...”

Despite complaining about his sister’s eccentric behavior, Page One still cooperatively and perhaps indulgently took accommodating actions.

With time, they became increasingly adept at mastering transformations, and in the blink of an eye, the transformation was completed.

Powerful jets of air burst from the gaps in Page One’s scale armor as he launched towards the ground, and Ulti, using the wind resistance from the slide, adeptly mounted his back, skillfully gripping his rear fin.

The Thousand-Year Dragon and Corviknight also flew downward, but not as quickly as Ulti and Page One. After all, Page One was jet-flying straight down.

...

”Ah!!! I feel like I’m the fastest-moving person in the world right now!”

On the small cart where Dragon Grandpa was, Usopp’s screams echoed across the island with the wind.

”What’s the point of that!”

Sanji disagreed with Usopp’s view, seeing it as pointless.

”Shut up! Luffy, think of a way to stop! At this rate, the cart’s going to fall apart before we even reach the ship!”

”No worries, trust me, it’ll be fine.”

”Trust you my foot! Nami, you asked the wrong person, hey, think of something!”

Rather than asking Luffy about this problem, it was more reliable to ask around; at least it would be more dependable than Luffy.

But their panic didn’t last long as someone helped stop the cart.

Boom!

Page One descended from the sky, planting his feet into the ground, crossing his arms with the fins like a shield, stopping the speeding cart.

Stopping this cart alone wasn’t difficult, but at the same time, Page One used finesse to dissipate the impact force, preventing the cart from falling apart, showcasing his control over his strength.

”You guys....”

”So cool!!”

”Aha?”

Seeing Luffy and Usopp’s starry eyes, Page One was speechless, choking back the words he hadn’t yet spoken.
