Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 861: Chapter 860: Peculiar Signal Jammer

”The feeling of having power... is really good.”

Turning to look back at the cliff behind her, Sister Misu couldn’t help but feel a bit wistful. If she had this kind of power more than a dozen years ago, she wouldn’t have had to pin all hopes for the children’s births on someone else.

The events in Freyvans are something she can never forget. At that time, she could only pray, hoping that the soldiers still had a shred of mercy, but unfortunately, the outcome was not favorable.

Every time she dreams of those times, she always wakes up in alarm, which is why she hopes Rami remains amnesiac.

Those painful memories do her no good, so she might as well start a new life directly.

”But Sister Misu, you’ve had this power for some time now, haven’t you? I don’t see you use it often.”

”Ah, that’s right, but it also represents another side of me, so I rarely use it. You’ll know why in the future.”

”So, how are the results from the radar?”

Tiger didn’t pursue the topic deeper. Sometimes, Misu spoke in such mysterious ways. Now he was more curious about where exactly that Plate was located.

”Strange, the radar’s reactions have become more chaotic. What exactly is here?”

Looking at the radar icon that still showed no change, Misu casually patted it. This was one of the makeshift repair methods that came with the electrification of Ghost Island and Wano Kuni.

Under Wano Kuni’s self-sustaining economy, products are quality-first, and poor connections are the most common issues solved by a mere pat.

”This thing... it can’t really be broken, can it?”

”It shouldn’t be. We tested it before departure, and there was no problem.”

Misu and Tiger both started to fret about whether to report directly, as a false alarm would be disastrous.

”I have a guess, but I’m not sure. Better to go over and ask. The people here should know something.”

Not wanting to cause any major misunderstandings, Misu had the knights stay put, only Tiger and Misu, having reverted from her transformation, approached.

At the same time, a few people in the distance also ran into the woods. They had seen these strange people when Misu and Tiger jumped off the cliff. Seeing that their direction was wrong, they chose to take a shortcut back to report the news.

...

”Grand... Grandma! Granny Izaya! It’s not good! A group of people jumped down from the cliff over there! Judging by the direction, they’re heading towards us... coming...”

Before he could finish speaking, he realized there was no need, because the people who had jumped off the cliff were now right in front of him, seemingly discussing something with grandma.

He didn’t know that for these well-trained superhumans, jumping off a cliff of this height had no impact.

For the ordinary residents living on Ascension Island, these people seemed like lunatics.

Initially, they thought those people were committing mass suicide, but every one of them was moving steadily towards the village after landing.\p>

The villagers who spotted them quickly returned to the gathering place to report the situation, but the vast difference in their physiques meant that even taking shortcuts, the Arceus Sect had entered here before them.

Although he saw these people jumping off the cliff and still being full of vitality, seeing the unscathed Misu and Tiger, he still found it hard to believe his eyes.

”Alright, Lacos, they are guests, no need to make a fuss.”

”Granny, they’re outsiders. What if they’re pirates or sent by the Navy Dojo to gather intel? And that guy... looks very dangerous...”

Lacos’s gaze shifted to Tiger, while Misu seemed harmless, Tiger’s appearance was fierce in the eyes of most people.

After the Aska Kingdom’s downfall, people living here rarely had the chance to see Fish-men.

”Even if they are, we have no choice but to face it. Now then, you two, what exactly are you here for?”

Sister Misu’s attire made the granny less wary since nuns and witches share similar roles, she assumed they weren’t here to cause trouble.

”There might be something we’re looking for here, but some unknown force on the island has affected our equipment. It seems like you’ve lived here for a while, so we wanted to ask if you knew anything.”

”No, haven’t heard of such a thing on this island.”

Hearing Misu’s words, the originally hunched-over granny abruptly straightened her back, claiming she knew nothing. But from her demeanor, it was clear she was hiding something.

One’s knowledge determines one’s insight. To the people of Ascension Island, the only thing worth outsiders coming to find is the cursed Seven-Star Sword. Although it’s now in someone else’s hands, she still didn’t want to reveal more.

Before Misu could say anything more, a girl’s shout was heard outside the village.

”Navy Dojo! It’s the Navy Dojo people! Those guys are here again!”

A blue-haired girl hurriedly came running back with a package. Her name was Maya, the island’s witch, inheriting the role from the original witch who sealed the Seven-Star Sword.

At that moment, Misu noticed the radar displayed more chaotic signals, something about the girl seemed to interfere with the radar’s detection.

”Miss Maya, please take grandma and lead the old and weak to safety. We’ll hold off those people.”

Upon hearing the term ’Navy Dojo’, except for a few staying to watch Tiger and Misu, all the able-bodied villagers grabbed their weapons and rushed out of the village, without looking back.

”Lord Tiger, could you assist them? I think I know where the problem lies.”

”No need, guest. You should leave. This is our private matter; there’s no need for you to get involved.”

”Don’t worry, Tiger is quite strong, right, Mr. Tiger?”

”Of course, leave this little trouble to me.”

...

Tiger quickly fulfilled his promise, the Navy Dojo members were like ants to him, taking only a few moments to drive away the attacking navy, showcasing his strength in the process.

When he returned, the villagers eyed him with vigilance, fearing he might perform any dangerous acts.

”Can we have a proper talk now? Young lady, what’s in your package is interfering with my radar. If possible, I’d like to destroy it; we are willing to compensate you double its price.”

The Plate is something that must be found, but Misu didn’t want to solve everything with violence, so she hoped to discuss terms with them.

”No, no way! Absolutely not!”

Listening to Misu’s words, Maya was shocked, and the villagers’ expressions turned sour; those Navy Dojo members were already difficult to handle, and Tiger had just wiped them out on his own.

If a fight were truly to break out, they were no match at all.
