Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 865: Chapter 864: Hero of the Sea, Palafin

For the Fishman Race, which is a water combat race, Water-type Pokemon are more compatible with them.

Sasaki had already eaten a Devil Fruit, and his inability to swim didn’t affect him much. Jack, on the other hand, has a peculiar obsession with elephants.

As for Tiger, the chosen ability was a very special Water-type Pokemon - Palafin.

The Water-type Dolphin Pokemon, a special individual evolved from Finizen, is one of the few Pokemon that seems no different whether evolved or not.

Though it appears ordinary, Palafin is quite special due to its trait known as All-Purpose Transformation.

Similar to Shaymin, Palafin has two different forms, one of which is its normal living appearance, called the Ordinary Form.

The Ordinary Form of Palafin has a similar appearance and physical capabilities to Finizen, blending into the crowd like a Superman with glasses, unrecognizable by anyone.

When its comrades encounter a crisis, Palafin awakens and enters All-Purpose Form.

Palafin’s All-Purpose Form contains ancient power; evolving from Finizen to Palafin, the most noticeable aspect is mastering the power of controlling ancient genes, and upon awakening, Palafin’s species value spikes, capable of arm wrestling with a Slaking.

In terms of speed and strength, Palafin is one of the top-ranking Pokemon in The Sea.

With its massive Machamp-like strength, it can easily lift a cruise ship single-handedly and matches it with speed.

As a dolphin-type Pokemon, it naturally possesses the ability to use ultrasound, allowing it to detect a comrade’s distress call from a great distance, then sprint at 50 knots to rescue those drowning.

Without the downside of Slaking’s trait, coupled with its innate kindness, it is known as a Hero of The Sea.

However, the transformation process of Palafin is seldom witnessed; in this aspect, Palafin adheres to a tradition of never letting outsiders see its transformation.

Usually, it’s just an ordinary dolphin—after all, such immense power isn’t always accessible.

The All-Purpose Form of Palafin may not be stylish, but it is powerful enough, which gives it a beauty of strength alone, and for Tiger, the transformation of this ability is also a special skin change process.

It turned him from a red Fishman into a color similar to Jinbe, and he looked much more honest—all in his initial transformation into the Ordinary Form.

”The power of the ancient genes is within you, that represents the power to protect. Familiarize yourself with it, and it will allow you to better harness this power to protect those you wish to protect.”

In the game, it’s simple for Palafin to enter All-Purpose Form—just recall it and release it again—but here, transformed into the ability of Palafin, entering All-Purpose Form requires Tiger’s skill.

”Understood, I will not fail this power; I will ensure this power demonstrates its true value.”

After gaining this power, Tiger didn’t stay on Ghost Island for long but instead bid farewell and returned to Fishman Island. He had been away for quite some time, and during that period, Jinbe managed most of the affairs of Fishman Island.

Though not the king of Fishman Island, he was the only one who could speak on equal footing with others in terms of strength.

Neptune and Otohime could express opinions to the World Government, but it bore little practical significance.

The status of the Dragon Palace Kingdom remained low, and most people’s attitudes toward the Fishman and Mermaid Races did not change.

...

”Shaina, send that Poneglyph up there and let them translate it to see what it’s all about.”

”Yes, I will do it immediately.”

When Arceus mentioned ”up there,” it carried no figurative meaning, merely referring to the Sky Island floating above Ghost Island.

Although some scholars who study ancient creatures have begun researching Pokemon, usually observing Pokemon habits on farms or ranches and investigating the mysterious evolution, most people continue to study history.

Currently, the Hundred Beasts possess a total of three Roadsign Poneglyphs and five regular Poneglyphs—making them the force with the most historical scripts in existence today.

With the scholars of Ohara translating more texts, the Void Century becomes even more mysterious. Some Poneglyphs have no direct connections, offering endless imaginative possibilities.

Despite collecting Poneglyphs, neither the Navy nor the World Government perceived Hundred Beasts as a threat in this regard, believing their aim differed entirely from Ohara’s.

Since Roger, countless pirates aspired to reach the Final Island; knowing the Roadsign Poneglyphs were indispensable, the World Government naturally understood this.

As a top force in the New World, it would be stranger if Kaidou did not seek those stones.

Moreover, the outside world believed no one could translate the Poneglyphs, so it attracted no attention from the World Government, who focused more on Queen.

Under Queen’s manipulations, the artificial Devil Fruits created by Caesar became hot sellers. Though Zoan-type ability users are less impressive than Paramecia-type and Logia-type, they still provide significant enhancement.

With successful examples, many forces developed a special interest in them.

To increase credibility, Doflamingo indeed mixed some finished products into Caesar’s semi-finished ones for sale, treating those purchasing the fruits like blind box gamblers, becoming intriguingly invested.

It’s just normal subordinates anyway, enhancing them with cash isn’t a loss, and this gambler’s mentality led to many forces, aside from the Hundred Beasts, having laughable ’failures’.

Caesar and Queen frequently appeared on the intelligence department’s desks, and they pondered a peculiar question: why do MADS members, after leaving government control, consistently produce bizarre inventions like geniuses?

Through this sales venture, Queen’s private funds became quite abundant; however, most of this money was donated.

...

”You mean... this was all donated by Lord Queen?”

”Yes, Nun, Lord Queen has made quite a few sporadic donations.”

In the monastery, Misu gazed at the ledger handed by Rami, perplexed by the situation. The Arceus Sect had ample funds, and Queen never partook in donations, leaving Misu baffled by this anomaly.

”Did he mention anything else?” ℯℯ𝑙.

”Uh... Uncle Queen said it was something he should do, only keeping some hard-earned money and snack funds for himself.”
