Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 866: Chapter 865: Pangoro and Hippowdon

Arceus didn’t actually care about what happened to those fruits. In his eyes, they were just recycled waste. However, just because he didn’t care didn’t mean others wouldn’t.

Queen’s actions were about shifting blame. After taking a batch of modified fruits using his authority, he engaged in this wave of trading, which, if not handled well, might get him into military training trouble again.

After receiving a lot of lessons, he gained much experience. To prevent future troubles, Queen directly donated a large portion of them. After all, he had enough money to spend. He didn’t want to accumulate a lot of money that he didn’t dare to spend, while constantly living in fear.

So once the donation was made, his business of reselling fruits was tacitly acknowledged, and no one cared where those supplemented fruits eventually ended up.

...

In Kuri, Miaona and Wolf were looking forward to a child’s most anticipated time - when parents aren’t home.

At this moment, it was Setsuna’s working hours. She was at Zou handling affairs with her administrative aides, and it would be quite a while before she would be done. Zeraora had gone out on a mission, leaving the nine-year-old siblings behind without any worries.

Their safety was certainly assured, but whether their caretaker was reliable or not was uncertain.

”Watch closely, you have to spit like this, Muji Hyoga!”

By the seaside in Kuri, Yamato spat out a Muji Hyoga towards the sea. The icy chill formed an ice bridge over the sea. She was attempting to teach Miaona and Wolf how to effectively use their abilities.

Even though Yamato rarely used her mind, no one ever doubted her combat talent. She had long secured her title as the third person of the Hundred Beasts.

Mentorship seemed to have become a kind of legacy within the Hundred Beasts. In the past, she had always been on the path of being ”mentored,” and Kaidou made sure she felt like she was on the brink of death every time.

Now she had started teaching others. However, she didn’t use Kaidou’s methods, opting instead for what she deemed reasonable ways.

The mutated Power of Kyurem gave her far superior control over ice than her previous timeline. At the end of the ice bridge, two target-like objects appeared.

”Alright, now aim for that target. Gather the energy in your mouth, then spit it out with full force. It’s that simple.”

Following her lead, a ball of sparks exploded against the target. Amidst the explosion, a few strands of lightning could be seen. This was Wolf’s unique Thunder Fireball, a technique that combined the Power of Thunder inherited from his father with Litten’s flames.

Meanwhile, next to him, Miaona twirled a Thousand Cosmos Bracelet made of leaves, then spun it like a dart and sent it flying. This was a Magical Leaf influenced by Aura Power, making each intricate control more mysterious.

”Yamato sister, was this really how you trained when you were nine?”

”Yes, was your training this simple back then?”

Actually, Miaona and Wolf came to her proactively because they had heard that at Yamato’s age, she couldn’t find any opponents among her peers.

”There’s definitely a bit of a difference, but this level is just enough for you two. Trust me, you wouldn’t like my kind of training.”

Supreme King Intimidation was used as a wake-up alarm. Facing attacks from unknown origins daily, whenever Yamato recalled her experiences from over a decade ago, she felt fortunate to have survived to this day.

Yamato shook her head vigorously as if recalling something terrifying, then quickly changed the subject.

”That should be enough. By the way, there’s a new Divine Grace Ceremony today by our foster father. Let’s go check out the fun.”

Usually, after the Divine Grace Ceremony, those newly granted abilities often get into a fight, which is the excitement Yamato was referring to.

The entirety of the Hundred Beasts admired martial prowess. Kaidou was a war maniac himself, so under his influence, many of the members’ offspring also revered strength. The main executives were still out of reach for them, but regular officers were something they could strive for.

When Yamato brought Miaona and Wolf to Ghost Island, the empowerment segment was already over, and a new round of battle had started amid the cheers of the onlookers.

All around were ordinary hand-to-hand combats. Honey Badger, Tiger, Cobra, Antelope—several Artificial Fruit-bearing fighters were engaged in combat.

This was part of the Hundred Beasts’ new cycle of internal struggles. Like Harper and Rory before them, these new leaders earned their own abilities, although their battles weren’t as captivating as those in the center, fought by two newly emerged Divine Favorers.

Dobon, a slightly weathered-looking older man and an early member of the Hundred Beasts, made a comeback through the internal struggles and attained his own ability—Hippowdon.

Briscola, on the other hand, was a robust man with a triangular golden hairstyle and his name tattooed on his chest. Compared to Dobon, he seemed much more spirited, holding a leaf between his lips. His ability was Pangoro.

...

”Lie down for me!”

In his Hippowdon form, Dobon opened his massive mouth wide, directly biting towards Briscola in front of him. The Hippowdon’s mouth was its most formidable weapon, possessing an exaggerated bite force that could grind even cars into scrap metal.

At the same time, yellow sand spewed from the holes on his back, transforming into a formidable sandstorm under the control of Hippowdon’s power.

This was also Hippowdon’s trademark skill. Their bodies could store copious amounts of yellow sand, which can be expelled upwards from body cavities to create enormous tornadoes for attack.

Upon transforming with Hippowdon’s ability, the release of this sand turned into a special power draining stamina.

Like ordinary hippos in nature, these creatures didn’t seem terrifying, yet they are called the Demonic Dragon King of Sand, Drapion, and would retreat in the face of Hippowdon.

As his opponent, Briscola did not shrink back. He held Dobon’s mouth open with his arms, resisting fiercely.

”Old man, at your age, it’s time to step aside!”

The mouth and teeth were Hippowdon’s weapons, whereas Pangoro relied on its fists. It was a Pokemon proud of its Machop-esque strength and wild nature.

Hippowdon might be able to bite a car into scrap metal, but Pangoro could pound it into broken pieces with its fists. Unlike Dobon, Briscola’s showcased abilities might not have been flashy, but the raw, explosive power of his physique prompted cheers from the watching crowd.

The two initially fought evenly matched, but as time went on, the battlefield gradually turned into Dobon’s home turf.

Despite being older and not as physically robust as his opponent, he had a better command of the battlefield, using time to craft his own domain.

The ground’s yellow sand formed a unique Sand Tomb, ensnaring Briscola’s legs tightly, ultimately losing this capability demonstration match.
