Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 854: Chapter 853: Five Big and Burly Guys vs. Cute and Petite Styles

The Handsome Pirates were captured along with their horses, temporarily ending their pirate career.

None of Jack’s subordinates found it strange that these pirates had a horse on the ship, even though this horse enjoyed a high standard of living, which was considered normal by those in the Hundred Beasts.

Within the Hundred Beasts, many Pokemon receive treatment better than humans. For example, Jack’s Alcremie and Kojiro’s Arcanine all live in extreme comfort under the care of their partners, something ordinary people cannot compare to.

To outside pirates, not having Pokemon, keeping a horse seems quite reasonable to them.

This horse, named Farul, is Cavendish’s beloved horse, accompanying him since childhood. The title of the White Horse also comes from Farul.

However, Jack’s men did not prepare a separate pen for it, instead confining it with the Handsome Pirates, and not only people can mine, the horse can pull carts, even with more strength than ordinary people.

To the Hundred Beasts, this horse was easier to manage than those pirates, simply tied with a rein to the side.

Even if it wanted to resist, a horse couldn’t do much, but Cavendish was causing them some headache.

”This guy is quite special.”

”Yes, even after Jack hit him, he still had the strength to resist.”

Cavendish was currently locked up with his subordinates, tightly bound with two Seastone Chains.

The Hundred Beasts have no shortage of Seastone, and its uses are extensive. Besides suppressing abilities, for ordinary people, it’s also an extremely strong chain, providing considerable peace of mind when dealing with difficult captives.

The keys to the chains were entrusted to Alcremie by Jack, as its body is made of cream and could hold some things inside, though limited by its size.

Thus, the chains on Jack’s ship were quite unique; all locks were of the same model, and just one key could open them all.

This most important key was also handed to Alcremie by Jack, without any worry that someone could steal it.

At this moment, Cavendish was still struggling, his expression reflecting his inner persona, causing the chains on him to rattle continuously, startling the Handsome Pirates around him.

”Hey, um... could you tie the Captain up more securely...”

”Yeah, at least tie him up firmly, please!”

”Did I hear wrong? You want him tied more securely?”

Sheepshead scratched his head, somewhat unable to understand the reasoning of these newcomers.

Logically, they should be plotting to escape. According to the customs of The Sea, captured pirates usually don’t end well, often sold to slave traders or handed over to the Navy being the most common outcome.

This should be a time for them to think about escape, not ”defection.”

”You don’t understand... the Captain when asleep is not the Captain...”

This is Cavendish’s trait. After realizing the issue with his inner persona, he must lock himself tightly while sleeping. If Cavendish were to break free now, the first thing he might do wouldn’t be to escape, but to kill his own crew.

What the Hundred Beasts intend to do, they do not know, but if Cavendish breaks free, they are doomed.

Having sailed with Cavendish for so long, they could tell that Cavendish was currently unable to suppress his inner persona.

”Just stay put, the Seastone Chain isn’t something you can break free from.

Being noticed by Lord Jack, you should feel honored, otherwise, you’d have been fish food long ago.”

Not paying attention to these pirates, Sheepshead turned and left the cabin.

Since Jack took notice of them, they would enjoy the highest treatment for captives of the Hundred Beasts, being sent back to the mines of Wano Kuni.

...

Some time later, Cavendish groggily woke up, the feeling of restraint around his body making him aware of what had happened.

”Did Hakuba fail too...”

This is the name of his inner persona. Being defeated by an opponent even his inner persona couldn’t handle meant they had really hit a tough nut.

The environment here wasn’t terrible, not luxurious but tidy, similar to a cargo hold.

Not cozy, but at least better than some conditions during the Triangular Trade period; after all, Jack wanted to recruit this guy, not torture him to death.

Still, this environment was terrible for Cavendish.

”These barbaric people, treating captives like this...”

Cavendish loved pageantry. If the enemy was someone he recognized, they would receive corresponding courtesies, and this place was even worse than the stables on his ship.

”Did these guys say what they plan to do?”

Looking around, he saw that none of his crew were missing, and even the horse was there, causing some confusion in Cavendish.

”No, they haven’t said anything.”

”Odd... don’t just stand there, think of a way to open this lock. There’s not even a guard, these rough-tongued people are really very careless.”

”Captain, actually, there is a guard.”

A crew member with handcuffs pointed outside, where Alcremie was sitting with a picture book, which due to the era, was usually treated as a comic book. The cover was of the popular Seven Monkey Beads.

”Foolish, how could such a cute creature be mixed up with those barbaric beings? It must be coerced or deceived.”

Looking at Alcremie’s appearance, Cavendish drew his own conclusion.

Cavendish, who loves fame and is also a standard appearance enthusiast, categorized the small and cute Alcremie into another faction in his mind. Such a cute little guy couldn’t possibly be associated with someone as rugged as Jack.

”Little fellow? Look here, look here, how about you help me unlock these chains and I will take you out of here?”

He didn’t know about Pokemon, nor what this creature was, but seeing it sitting there with a picture book, it should be able to understand human speech.

On this vast sea, there were many animals with intelligence comparable to humans, just that most couldn’t speak human language. To prevent Alcremie from misunderstanding, he also tried using body language to convey his meaning.

But his movements, limited due to being tied up, were very restricted.

The chains rattled as Cavendish succeeded in attracting Alcremie’s attention, only to see Alcremie’s gaze filled with a look of disbelief.

Blinking his eyes, Cavendish found the scene hard to believe, thinking it hadn’t understood him, so he continued to ramble on.

He finally wore down Alcremie’s patience, prompting it to take out a whistle, take a deep breath, and blow it.

The piercing whistle immediately summoned Jack over.
