Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 872: Chapter 871: As Everyone Knows, a Battleship Is a Unit of Measurement

Previously, Fishman Island was never wary of outsiders, which was one of the reasons for the massive human trafficking on Fishman Island.

Earlier, in order to better manage Fishman Street, Tiger had proposed updating Fishman Island’s household registration system, and after this action, had Jinbe assign people to monitor all newcomers to the island.

This was not something the old Tiger could have done.

And all this, in the end, must be credited to Queen.

Paranoia sometimes can be contagious, but Tiger, unlike Queen, didn’t walk around all day feeling like someone was going to stab him in the back; this time, he just wanted to take precautions.

”Brother Tiger, Brother Jinbe, the banquet is ready, and everyone is waiting.”

At this time, Aladine came over representing the other members of the Sun Pirates.

As pirates, they also inherited the tradition of holding banquets, and Neptune and Otohime were still arguing with those people, something neither Tiger nor Jinbe intended to get involved with.

This banquet was to celebrate the rise in Tiger’s strength, but the opening of the banquet was a bit strange; Tiger didn’t boast like a typical pirate, but instead rambled on about familiar topics to the members of his team with the teachings in hand.

...

Sanjuan Wolf was eventually stuffed back into the sixth level of Impel Down, living once again in that sunless place, and the experiment subject being sent back also meant that the experiments conducted on him were over.

This time, the experiment operator was not Vegapunk, but the experiment ideas were summed up based on some of his previous research.

Due to the failure of this experiment, coupled with some intelligence gathered by the World Government, a special commissioner came to Vegapunk.

”Dr. Vegapunk, I am a commissioner representing the Five Elders, please answer these questions truthfully.”

”I’m very busy, haven’t you guys already known all of this? Why ask again?”

”This is what the higher-ups want, I’m just a lowly clerk, please don’t make it difficult for me.”

His attitude was very respectful, not only because Vegapunk still held a high position within the World Government, not yet at a level where he would be erased.

The root of his nervousness was the man sharpening an axe beside him and Borsalino filing his nails.

”Then make it quick.”

”Then I shall begin.”

With that, the person opened an Image Radio Snail to start recording and took out the information on several individuals.

”Doctor, these people should not be unfamiliar to you, right? Vinsmoke Judge, Caesar Clown, Queen, Buckingham Stussy.

They are all members of the MADS Research Team, and your former colleagues.”

”Isn’t this something you guys already knew? Do you want me to state my gender and name too?”

Listening to the agent’s question, Vegapunk did not respond directly. For these rhetorical questions, he did not want to waste time and directly picked up something similar to a laptop in front of them to start calculating new data.

”It’s all part of the process... however, your understanding of them should not be extensive now, I still have to repeat, ladies first, starting with Buckingham Stussy.

This is her so-called son, Edward Weevil, what he has done, what abilities he has, I won’t waste words, and this is relatively the simplest among these four people.”

Then he placed the other few files in front of Vegapunk one by one.

”This is Queen, you should have heard his name often recently, or rather, he has been quite active these past few years.

Besides this bounty, the things related to him include but are not limited to further research on the Bloodline Factor, various cadres who can use Kaidou’s internal abilities, war robots, Devil Fruit vivification, war beasts.

The specifics are quite many, so I won’t list them all.

And this person is your former colleague who recently broke out of prison, Caesar Clown. Do you have anything to say about the Devil Fruits he created?”

Mentioning those so-called Artificial Devil Fruits piqued Vegapunk’s interest.

”Oh, you mean those failures? If you want those grotesque things, I can make a bunch for you anytime, what, are you guys interested in this again?”

”Doctor, please don’t feign ignorance, there’s also a perfect product among them, you should have witnessed it.”

”Perfect product? Actually, it’s still a bit flawed, but that so-called perfect product does have some substance, as if someone forcibly glued a bunch of broken pieces back together, so what’s your main point?”

”Don’t be hasty, Doctor, and this is the final point, first, according to the records you left earlier, our experiment failed.”

”Oh, that, didn’t I say earlier, those things are failed dangerous goods, I advised you to be cautious yourself?”

”Yes, but please take a look at this, this is the latest combat footage from Germa.”

After the failed collision with Queen, Judge fled in haste, then began new research, and Germa continued their usual work; in this footage, his children showed significant changes.

During battles, they all carried a large box on their backs, and during the fight, those boxes turned into mechas, apparently mimicking Zoan users.

”Vinsmoke Judge has researched this so-called mecha for a long time, and most of the funds have been used to purchase divine gold, recently resulting in this experimental model; according to intelligence analysis, their cost is comparable to two warships.

Doctor, the Five Elders have a question: why do these members of MADS, after leaving the group, have achieved such remarkable accomplishments one by one?

And similar matters, something you, who is said to be 500 years ahead in technology, can’t achieve?

Apart from those imitation flying dragons, you haven’t provided any of the things the government needs, right? Some people’s patience has almost been exhausted.”

Vegapunk’s research daily consumes massive amounts of funding, and now with Vegapunk lacking effective results, while his colleagues are doing remarkably, this led to the presence of this investigative commissioner.

At this moment, Vegapunk also realized that some things couldn’t be brushed aside any longer, so he took him to another laboratory, where a skeletal machine was visible.

”What you want is the Peacekeeper, equipped with a head-mounted personnel recognition system, able to distinguish pirates from colleagues; the laser cannon researched from Admiral Kizaru’s Bloodline Factor is also equipped.

Its specific appearance comes from the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Bartholomew Kuma; it only costs as much as a single warship, and is ready for mass production.

As for the other things, those still need time. If this doesn’t satisfy you, then there’s nothing else I can offer.”
