Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 856: Chapter 855: Kurozumi Tama and Sirfetch’d

This is the pirate prison, where the word ’human rights’ simply does not exist. Babanuki will definitely cut the edge of any troublemaker who wants to escape, even if Jack plans to recruit them.

As long as he hasn’t chosen to join, punishing him is justified.

”Come on, let’s see what you can do to this young master!”

”I remember you seem to like cleanliness.”

Babanuki didn’t choose corporal punishment. He too came from a rookie pirate background, and those who can become Super Rookies usually won’t submit to corporal punishment alone; it’s impossible to make them yield through the harshness of it alone.

The Navy’s Impel Down is an example; inmates entering Impel Down will undergo a special cleansing using boiling water. For ordinary people, this baptism might cost them their lives.

Yet the monsters sentenced to LV6 can pass that stage without blinking, and Cavendish shares a similar situation, where whipping and other physical punishments hardly have any effect.

”What... what are you going to do...”

”Today’s punishment is for you to clean all the toilets in the quarry. If you dare to make any more trouble, I’ll make you do it with your bare hands.”

Upon hearing Babanuki’s words, Cavendish’s face turned gray. This was even worse than killing him.

However, this is the effect Babanuki desires; one must be forced to do what they fear and hate the most — this is the punishment for wrongdoers at the Udon Quarry.

”Daifugo, watch him finish these tasks.”

”Uh... Brother Babanuki, can’t we assign someone else for this...?”

”Brother Jack said this guy is a bit troublesome, and I wouldn’t be at ease with others.”

”Alright... Hey, kid! Hurry up!”

As the overseer, Daifugo also has to enter the same environment as Cavendish, which makes him feel quite displeased, resulting in more rough actions, and Babanuki also picks up the loudspeaker to warn the prisoners here not to court death.

When preparations at the Udon Quarry were almost done, a special team arrived.

Most were children around five or six years old, along with numerous white ducks, some of which had developed well, even taller than those kids.

These ducks weren’t ordinary ducks but the evolved form of Galar Farfetch’d — Sirfetch’d.

Note: Sirfetch’d is not a food item, and they are not edible.

Due to the weight of the leeks, the Galar Farfetch’d evolved into a special form through training.

Except for the color of the feathers, Sirfetch’d looks similar to Farfetch’d; its forehead’s V mark becomes thicker, and it no longer holds a mere leek but a sword and shield made of leek stems and leaves.

As in the Farfetch’d stage, the leek serves both as food and a weapon.

The Farfetch’d tribe continuously battles, and the outstanding ones evolve; their composure makes them champions of upright combat, making them serve as the children’s guard.

No one can guarantee that the prisoners won’t suddenly act irrationally, so guards are needed.

Sirfetch’d were appointed instead of humans to help them understand Pokémon better and familiarize themselves with the new trends of Wano Kuni.

Similar activities take place several times a year, with a limited number each time. Most children this time come from the Flower Capital, with many bearing the Kurozumi name.

Since Kurozumi Orochi’s grandfather attempted a rebellion, the main branch of the Kurozumi Family was exterminated, but the collateral branches didn’t suffer much, especially these children. They have nothing to do with Orochi’s Kurozumi family other than the same surname.

But after Oden’s death, their families were affected and quickly allied with the Hundred Beasts for self-preservation, primarily serving as handmaidens and attendants in the Flower Capital.

At the forefront stood a purple-haired little girl named Kurozumi Tama.

In the original timeline, her parents died due to overwork in Wano Kuni’s factories, forcing her to rely on selling hats for a living.

It can be said that Kurozumi Orochi never considered these people as kin; everything in Wano Kuni was a target for his revenge.

But now, Wano Kuni retains some factories, far from reaching that insane level. Her parents also work in the Flower Capital’s palace, leading a very harmonious family life.

She is already of school age, and this is the practical activity she is participating in.

...

”This stone bed is where we sleep, so all of you must behave and study well and not do bad things, or else you will end up like us, sleeping on these hard stone beds and always having endless chores.

This is the cost of our wrongdoing, and others are facing even harsher punishments over there.”

The concepts are too complex for them to grasp, so the selected representative uses the clearest language possible to educate these children.

Having fought hard for this opportunity, he wouldn’t speak carelessly, and the surrounding Sirfetch’d also added pressure, though they didn’t appear as intimidating as the Rock-type Pokémon like Geodude, but the leeks glimmering coldly were not to be trifled with.

Those chosen as representatives had not committed serious crimes and were genuinely repentant, leaving no chance for the unrepentant.

”Uncle, this is a gift for you, wishing you soon complete your transformation and return home.”

They also brought small presents, mostly cards with little practical value; at most, some food was included, the only thing allowed to be given to them. No matter what, they were prisoners, here for punishment, not a vacation.

Kurozumi Tama was very kind to them because that was her nature, and even with the drastic change in her environment, her gentleness remained.

But with her parents alive and not meeting Ace, her goal shifted from becoming a flamboyant Female Ninja to becoming the Chief Maid of the palace.

In the original timeline, she had already become the ability user of the Millet-Millet Fruit.

This fruit had no unique effects but could control animals, and even Caesar’s semi-finished fruit was affected by her abilities, the culprit causing massive rebellion in the original timeline.

But now, that fruit is decaying in the Hundred Beasts’ warehouse because of their policy; bizarrely shaped fruits can be exchanged for huge rewards, achieving financial freedom just by finding one, much like winning the lottery.

Therefore, upon discovering that peculiar fruit, she handed it over without hesitation.

Later, they saw Cavendish enduring his punishment.

Due to his handsome face, several children displayed regretful expressions, seemingly expressing how unfortunate it was for such a handsome big brother to be a villain, inflicting a fresh wound upon Cavendish.
