Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 868: Chapter 867: The Escaped Test Subject—Gigantic Battleship Sanjuan Wolf

A few Heatmors and these invading ants formed a new biological balance, while in Wano Kuni, Mareanies under the lead of Toxapex were also clearing out the new growth of corals.

Some corals that looked nice were also left behind by them to serve as special ornamental pieces. In this sea breeding giant Sea King Types, the number of coral reefs is too many to count, so coral products rarely sell for a high price.

They’re not much different from ordinary handicrafts.

When the Mareanies were attached to the rock layers, a whale swam over on the distant sea current, and on its back, Manaphy was leisurely basking in the sun.

Among the many Legendary Pokemon, the time Manaphy spends dispatched outside is one of the longer ones.

Zeraora, relying on its speed, acts as a firefighter, usually on Ghost Island, but can quickly reach the destination when needed. Darkrai wanders around, and numerous Genesects are stationed on different islands.

Diancie and Shaymin basically stay at home and rarely go out, while Manaphy is stationed at the mining company for a long time and is back for a vacation this time.

He could choose to swim back by himself, or choose to take a ship, but in the end, he chose this most comfortable way.

”Alright big guy, stay in this sea area, don’t wander around, and you guys, don’t bully it!”

In other worlds, whales are the overlords of the ocean, with huge bodies that rarely meet opponents, but in the dangerous New World, threats from Sea Beasts and Sea King Types are much greater than a whale.

So Manaphy warned it not to wander around and made requests to the nearby Gyarados.

As for why he rode back on a whale, it was just because the back of this whale was quite comfortable to sit on.

Accompanied by the whale’s call, Manaphy passed through the waterfall and returned to Wano Kuni.

...

”My lord, long time no see, here’s a gift I brought.”

A strange bunch of grapes was taken out by Manaphy. Even though he’s responsible for the mining company, he also works part-time in deep-sea salvage. In this Great Pirate Era, besides countless pirates setting sail, countless ships also sank into the sea every day.

The treasure left on the ship is also one of their targets, and this Devil Fruit, similar in shape to grapes, is among them.

Devil Fruits, although they taste bad, have a characteristic that they don’t rot and won’t attract mosquitoes; otherwise, the world might have numerous flies that ate Human-Human Fruits.

Their bad taste is a conceptual kind of bad taste; regardless of the creature, Devil Fruits are the most disgusting thing for them, even flies are no exception.

”Has everything been handled over on Fishman Island?”

”Everything’s handled, no new ore has been found recently, and Tesoro decided to give the mining company a break for a year, so I came back as nothing’s happening.”

”Then take a good rest, let Diancie show you around a bit, there’re quite a lot of changes here.”

But at this moment, there really was a problem in the sea area of New Fishman Island, as they’d encountered an intruder that should absolutely not be here.

...

In front of the Fishmen was a giant with an incredibly exaggerated size, even with parts of its body underwater, the exposed portions were still as towering as a small mountain.

He was currently inching closer to New Fishman Island, and with his size, he would definitely cause irreversible damage to New Fishman Island.

The Fishman Race was attacking his body underwater, yet their size disparity was too great; even in water, the Fishmen couldn’t inflict effective damage on him, but just a flick of his wrist could cause significant trouble for them.

”Attack! Don’t let this guy get any closer! Damn it, how can there be such a big giant?!”

”How did he get so close?! Are the people outside blind, letting this thing get to this position!”

New Fishman Island’s perimeter has its own watch posts to prevent enemy invasions, usually even the smallest boat can’t escape their surveillance, but today, this giant approached undetected.

Moreover, just a moment ago, he directly attacked Fishman Island’s transport ship, if not for the Fishmen on the ship being able to move fast in the sea, they would have been devoured along with the cargo on board.

At this moment, his mouth was drooling, moving forward with a vacant stare. They absolutely couldn’t allow such a thing to approach Fishman Island.

”Who the hell is this guy? Judging by those clothes, could he be a prisoner? Haven’t heard of such a person before?”

”No matter who he is, what we need to do now is to stop him!”

”Jinbe, you’re finally here.”

Seeing Jinbe appear, the panicking Fishmen breathed a sigh of relief, as they temporarily found their backbone.

Along with Jinbe came a squad of Flygons, now those Flygons were bombarding the giant below from midair.

But the attack effects weren’t evident; this giant’s Defense Power was extraordinary, combined with the size difference, the Flygons’ attacks were nearly like firecrackers.

Although Pokemon have the ability of Dynamax, these Flygons wouldn’t use Dynamax, so they could only try to block the opponent in their own way.

”Jinbe, what do we do? At this rate, he’ll reach New Fishman Island in three minutes at most.”

”What else can we do? We need to stop him even at the cost of our lives; we can’t evacuate the people on the island that quickly. I’ve contacted reinforcements; they should arrive soon.”

Jinbe didn’t know the origin of this giant, and the root of it all was because this giant was the World Government’s death row criminal they wanted to erase from existence - Sanjuan Wolf.

The height of an adult Giant Race individual generally exceeds twelve meters, but Sanjuan Wolf could appear in the world at a height of 180 meters, hence the nickname ’Colossal Battleship’; he alone had destructive power comparable to an enormous fleet.

He was originally one of the legendary criminals imprisoned on the sixth level of Impel Down, sentenced to life imprisonment by the World Government, and due to his excessively violent crimes, he was even an existence that must be eradicated from history.

He was outside because the World Government wanted to conduct some special experiments, hence they brought him out of Impel Down.

They believed some experimental failures were due to an insufficiently strong test subject and wanted to try using Sanjuan Wolf.

But he escaped due to a moment of carelessness.

The matter should have been alerted immediately, with people dispatched to recapture him. Yet for the sake of their dignity, and to avoid unnecessary panic, the World Government didn’t make this matter public at all.

Other than a few people, most didn’t know that Sanjuan Wolf had successfully escaped nor any other information about this person.
