Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 858: Chapter 857: Fame or Steel Wool—You Have to Choose One

Tesoro understands the ways of the world and the human heart.

When Cavendish had stirred the hearts of many young girls, he sent people to gather information about him.

Overall, Cavendish’s actions are very conspicuous, so he will spare no effort to do things that shock people and thus capture everyone’s attention.

In Tesoro’s eyes, such fame-seeking types are the easiest to handle; he wants popularity, and Tesoro is never short of it.

”Fame...around the world...”

These words spun continuously in Cavendish’s ears, tempting him far more than any treasure or power.

Jack had failed to recruit him repeatedly, partly because of Cavendish’s personality and partly because what Jack offered simply didn’t interest him. Tesoro, on the other hand, hit the nail on the head.

With his current power, it’s not hard to clear a pirate’s name; the World Government, even knowing someone is a pirate, would turn a blind eye for immense profits.

As for his bounty status, other pirates would have to be sacrificed. Cavendish’s bounty is 280 million; simply eliminating more pirates could offset this issue. Law became one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea through a similar method.

Currently, Tesoro doesn’t need a Seven Warlords position; he just wants to clean up Cavendish. Given the current situation of the World Government, with proper manipulation, the events in Rommel can be blamed on others. They are already adept at such things.

Of course, not everyone can have this done; it depends on the pirate’s own situation.

”No, why should I believe you! Who wants to debut with you!”

”You can definitely choose not to believe, but this is the change in news since you started working here.”

Tesoro brought out some newspapers, and the articles made Cavendish realize he was gradually being forgotten.

”As you’ve seen, if you continue to dig for a while, you might be forgotten, and with your face, staying here to dig isn’t appropriate. We need to do business, and you have much greater value for us to explore.”

”You... what do you mean...”

”Hang on, I’ll find something.”

Tesoro smiled with a peculiar grin and then took out his Rotom Phone, searching through it. Soon, a bunch of images appeared on the screen.

”Found them, these things are usually quite eye-watering. If it weren’t necessary, I wouldn’t want to store them.”

With that, Tesoro showed a set of very unique photos. This world has a severe polarization in many aspects, including appearance; there are people as beautiful as immortals and others who look quite abstract. The photos Tesoro presented contained this kind of content.

”This is...”

”Women who save you decades of struggle. You were once a prince; you should know that some people’s hearts are quite twisted. These are the nobles of the Red Earth Continent; they are very satisfied with your looks.

Selling you to them would be the most profitable way; these people are generally called rich ladies.”

To mine quickly, Rock Type Pokemon are far more useful than these people. Gigalith’s workload in a day is stronger than a hundred people, and it only needs sunlight, rocks to eat, and a massage after work.

Most in the quarry are serving time, rather than working, just transporting things, and their efficiency is incomparable to Machoke.

”Rich... rich ladies?? Are you kidding me, this is a rich grandma! How old are they?”

”This one? In their seventies. What’s wrong, are you really interested? That’s a pity then, it seems you’ll have to stick with the steel wool.”

”Wait!! Let me think about it!”

Whether by threat or incentive, Tesoro had hit Cavendish’s sore spot, being sold to accompany those rich grandmas...

Imagining such a hellish life, Cavendish felt that fame was a better option, but he still had his final insistence.

”I have one condition! Give me one of Jack’s pets, then I’ll follow your arrangements.”

”Jack’s pet? You mean Alcremie? I can’t decide that unless they want to go with you, but I can give you an opportunity.”

”Wait, there’s one more thing, my crew and my horse, what about them?”

”No need to worry about this. As long as you obediently join, they’ll naturally find new places, and when you qualify, letting them continue to follow you isn’t impossible.”

The stick and the carrot, Cavendish chose the latter. After tidying himself up, he was led by Tesoro to the kitchen on Ghost Island, during which Durandal was directly returned to him.

”You guys are really bold, just trusting me like this?”

Even though his subordinates hadn’t been fully released, there was still potential for him to revolt.

Though he wouldn’t do this, since he agreed, he wouldn’t go back on his word.

But Tesoro’s external identity has always been a businessman and a star; Cavendish didn’t think he had any formidable power.

No other pirates were around, making Cavendish feel these people were very confident.

”Trust? Sort of, but mainly, why do you think you could beat me? I’ve heard you couldn’t even break Jack’s skin; someone like that poses no threat.”

Don’t use questionable ones, don’t doubt those you use the attitude doesn’t work on pirates, a trial period is still necessary. Arceus isn’t as carefree as Kaidou, doesn’t want to see traitors every day.

Purely because Tesoro had the power to suppress Cavendish alone, he could allow him such freedom.

Tesoro didn’t explain this but led him into the kitchen, at that moment, Cavendish seemed to enter heaven.

On the countertop, Alcremie of various colors were decorating sweets with cream. Nearby, Bounsweet were bathing, and Tsareena’s feet were also soaking. This was a special scene in the Hundred Beasts’ kitchen, and also the most desired partners by the chefs of the BIG MOM Pirates.

Some chefs even fled from the BIG MOM Pirates because of this matter, leading to Charlotte Linlin and Kaidou cursing at each other, eventually resolving it with a monthly trade of several tons of cream.

The footbath water of Tsareena is sweet mangosteen juice in the outside world; while there are people opposed to such things, some are more obsessed.

This is highly related to Tsareena’s appearance; the logic is the same as a girl’s grape-treading wine compared to a rough man’s, and it’s the same here.

”You’ve seen it, they’re called Alcremie, a very peculiar creature. If you can gain the acknowledgment of a particular Alcremie, nobody will object to it following you.

But if they don’t approve of you, then drop this idea; otherwise, you’ll die horrifically, worse than being scrubbed to death by a steel wool.”
