Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 794: Chapter 793: Slaughter and Corruption

Both gods and ghosts are legendary entities. Under the promotion of the Arceus Sect and the original national conditions of Wano Kuni, they have an unwavering belief in the existence of deities.

Since they believe in gods, naturally, they will also believe in ghosts.

The Spooky Plate has not yet returned, and Wano Kuni has not experienced the massive emergence of Ghost-type Pokemon. Although Rotom itself carries the Ghost Attribute, it was born from the power of the Zap Plate.

Those high-tech things that fly around are more like artificial intelligence, and no one associates them with this aspect.

Moreover, Ghost-type Pokemon are highly polarized. Some cannot withstand loneliness, always thinking of pranks every day, with Rotom being an example, while others are very deep, with Honedge as a representative.

Over the years, the two have lain almost motionless on the sword racks, rarely moving, and only in the dead of night do they engage in their ”feeding,” consuming the prepared Berries and Poffins, or the souls procured from around the world.

Thus, there have always been haunting rumors in the Flower Capital.

But not many people witness such events, usually dismissed as hallucinations. It’s different now.

This is the grave of Kozuki Oden. Kozuki Oden’s sword flies through the air by itself, cutting people down. Never mind the power; the psychological intimidation has reached its peak.

As a new regional form of Pokemon, the two Honedge retain the appearance of Enma and Ame no Habakiri, and have even inherited some swordsmanship from their former master, Kozuki Oden. The Flying Slash just now was an example.

They cannot exhibit the power that Oden did while alive, but to these relatively strong ordinary people, this is still a massacre.

Pokemon have a gentle side, but they also have a fierce side. In the Alola Region, a large number of people have their spines broken by Bewear’s Bear Hug each year, and those stung by Tentacool are not few either.

Just compared to them, Ghost Attribute Pokemon often have a greater impact.

While the crowd was in shock, Enma’s sword tail suddenly extended a ribbon, wrapping around a person’s wrist. That person quickly withered, becoming almost skeletal.

Enma is a Demon Blade, and even its user can be drained of Haki and killed if not careful. Apart from Kozuki Oden, Enma once had difficulty finding a suitable wielder.

In becoming Honedge, it seems to have inherited Enma’s nature, being much more violent than Ame no Habakiri.

After transforming into Honedge, their master became Arceus. As their creator, Arceus’s command is their duty, and among Arceus’s orders to them was also to protect the safety of Kozuki Hiyori.

Therefore, when they launched an attack on Kozuki Hiyori, they were marked as enemies by Honedge.

An eye opened on Enma’s hilt, showing a satisfied expression. Compared to the souls purchased from other nations, it seemed to favor the sustenance of fear.

When that person was drained, Enma did not release him. A strange energy emanated from its body, manipulating the corpse to stand like a zombie, charging into the crowd.

In comparison to Enma, Ame no Habakiri is relatively gentler. Its actions are not as terrifying, merely hovering around Kozuki Hiyori and occasionally slashing to clear gathered minions.

It fulfills its duty, while Enma has begun to play, not releasing any large-scale skills, merely slashing singularly.

...

Since Enma and Ame no Habakiri appeared, those shouting ’Sunacchi!’ have lost their organization. It’s not because Enma and Ame no Habakiri are so strong; Denjiro and others also crush them by force, but they dare to cry ’Sunacchi’ as they charged into battle.

However, Enma and Ame no Habakiri directly shattered their inner resolve. Even in assassinating Kozuki Hiyori, they believed they were doing it for Wano Kuni, hoping it returns to orthodox rule.

But the ”spirit of Kozuki Oden” struck them completely. They didn’t know what Honedge was. To them, this was a sign that Oden could not rest in peace, and he endorsed his daughter’s actions.

The collapse of belief often happens instantly. Many people simply gave up resisting, standing dazedly until Enma cut through their bodies, falling into the snow with bewildered eyes.

”Why! Why! Why is this?! ”

The collision of twisted beliefs and cruel reality led a few leaders to cry out in anger, reenergizing and charging forward once more.

”Die! Die, woman, die!”

But that was only part of it.

”I’m sorry, we were wrong, we were wrong! We shouldn’t have questioned these...”

”I don’t want... I don’t want to die here like this!”

Among them were those fleeing in panic, those kneeling for forgiveness, showcasing the varied states of humanity in this crowd.

In fact, not even Denjiro and Kozuki Hiyori understood what was happening.

Especially when Enma and Ame no Habakiri joined forces, using an even more powerful Dual-Sword Style of Oden.

As former attendants of Oden, they had all studied swordsmanship under Kozuki Oden. They immediately recognized it as Oden’s technique, just without the one wielding the blade.

Those still fighting were continually reaped by Enma and Ame no Habakiri. Kawamatsu and the others didn’t need to lift a hand, as no one could surpass the blades’ defense line.

One after another, the fighters fell, and those who fled ran a significant distance. Enma and Ame no Habakiri did not pursue them further, halting in place.

”Heh... Hahaha....”

While Denjiro and the others hesitated over how to deal with the aftermath, Kozuki Hiyori, whom they were protecting, suddenly laughed, her laughter tinged with sadness, gradually turning to madness.

”You know, if you are willing to listen to me, can you kill all those people? Except for the ones kneeling, leave none alive.”

”Hiyori-sama, they might have just been misled; previously...”

”Denjiro, I’m not speaking to you. I’m speaking to Enma and Ame no Habakiri, let’s just call them that for now. I’m speaking to the two of them.”

Those people were once loyal followers of Oden. If they attacked Hiyori, Denjiro, of course, would view them as enemies, and he mercilessly killed several leaders. But when it came to a total massacre, his hand faltered, believing these people might still be saved.

He originally intended to give them a chance, according to the custom of the Hundred Beasts, these people would at least be thrown into the mines to labor for a dozen years. What remained could be discussed at the time of prophecy.

However, Kozuki Hiyori’s tone felt very unfamiliar to him; she seemed to have changed, no longer the Kozuki Hiyori he knew.
