Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 759: Chapter 758: What the Book Said Was Right

Although he wouldn’t give up on the idea of utilizing the Giant Race’s military power, he wouldn’t ruin BIG MOM’s plans either. If they become enemies in the future, her being stronger would make things more interesting.

War highlights a person’s value; the higher the enemy’s value, the more it accentuates the power of one’s allies.

Arceus didn’t tell Kaidou, but Charlotte Linlin’s marriage proposal wouldn’t succeed. Even though the world is changing and it might bring about some peculiar changes, the outcome wouldn’t affect them either way.

”And that old woman seems to want Yamato to marry her son. As if those useless brats have any right to such a thing. It’s a chance to show her something she can never have. Ohohoho!”

The relationship between him and Charlotte Linlin was quite peculiar. Sending someone to attend the engagement ceremony was supposed to be a gesture of blessing, but Kaidou intended to annoy Charlotte Linlin a bit, and let Yamato meet some future business partners.

As for Charlotte Linlin’s children...

Besides Katakuri, there was really no one else he found noteworthy. Back on Rocks’ ship, Katakuri had always stood out.

This is also the most unique aspect of the BIG MOM Pirates. If you’re looking for the pirate crew with the most Rocks remnants, it would certainly be the BIG MOM Pirates.

Apart from Charlotte Linlin herself, many of her children were born during that time, including Katakuri. When Kaidou boarded Rocks’ ship, Katakuri was already four years old.

His strength was related to the environment he grew up in. Simply relying on Charlotte Linlin’s protection wasn’t enough in such a place.

Other than him, the members of the BIG MOM Pirates either lacked strength or looked peculiar. Katakuri was old enough to be Yamato’s father, so naturally, Charlotte Linlin’s idea of a marriage proposal fell apart.

”The day is approaching; have them prepare to depart. As for the gifts... Just bring some honey and cream.”

In a sense, attending an event hosted by Charlotte Linlin was quite easy. As long as they brought dessert ingredients of high enough value, the issue could be settled. And the Hundred Beasts had no shortage of these.

Be it Combee’s honey or Alcremie’s cream, these were costless trades for the Hundred Beasts.

...

”Engagement ceremony?”

”Yes, it’s Lord Arceus’s intention.”

Setsuna, while contemplating a new excuse for Hichugiskhan, saw the invitation brought by Zeraora. Technically speaking, she and Charlotte Linlin had a brief romantic rivalry.

But she never worried about losing. From the Fur Race’s perspective, humans, with their scant fur, were not ideal partners. Coupled with Charlotte Linlin’s peculiar personality, their brief encounters didn’t feel too bad.

Especially in recent years, Charlotte Linlin’s figure had begun to change. One could no longer see what she looked like decades ago. Transforming from an hourglass figure to a barrel shape, only her ex-husbands would know the extent of this transformation.

Especially her later husbands, who experienced results completely different from those years ago.

Even though Charlotte Linlin could be more unpredictable than Kaidou, Kaidou maintained a relatively stable mood outside of drunkenness, whereas many things could trigger Charlotte Linlin’s rage.

However, at tea parties, she was generally quite friendly, and Setsuna had yet to see her lose control.

”Wait a moment then, I’ll go pack a few things. It’ll take days to travel back and forth.”

She retrieved a white leather case from the warehouse, crafted personally by Arceus, as an internal utility item issued to high-level officials.

Like the Island Cloud Shoulder Bag in Yamato’s hands, it was special spatial equipment crafted with secretive power by Arceus.

Although the land beneath Sky Island’s clouds had similar properties, processing them with secretive power into spatial equipment with internal space far exceeding their surface was not something ordinary Pokemon could do.

The wizards next door at Hogwarts are known for casting the Traceless Extension Charm to expand tents and trunks, and this power had become exclusive to Arceus.

The rarity of the equipment meant it wasn’t widely distributed, only available to high-level officials and a few fortunate individuals at annual meetings.

Yamato had received an internal test version, and with usage feedback from Yamato, the convenient tool was distributed to many others. Logically, such unscientific items would be more eye-catching than biological technology.

After all, pulling out a nearly two-meter-long Wolf Fang Club from an ordinary bag seemed absurd, yet amid all the strange abilities around, no one paid any attention to it.

The engagement ceremony was a one-day event, and while they had a way to travel, without urgent matters, Zeraora wouldn’t exert himself to fly full throttle.

Just as Setsuna was opening the case, she turned back to find some strange objects inside.

”You two, get out of there!”

She saw Miaona and Wolf trying to hide in the case. Due to the Island Cloud’s unique properties, after processing with secretive power to become a case, it retained some breathability. Thus, Miaona and Wolf attempted to hide inside, eager to attend the engagement ceremony.

”No way, we want to go too! Engagements sound so interesting.”

”Yeah! You didn’t take us when you got engaged to Dad. We want to go this time.”

”Without engagements, where would you come from... Who taught you this nonsense... Get out honestly! I didn’t say you couldn’t go!”

Strangely, she felt more irritable since becoming a mom. At the same time, she understood why Lin often flew into a rage when she was young.

It was just attending a ceremony; she felt it was fine to bring the kids along. She essentially viewed it as an ordinary team-building activity, intending to go with the whole family.

Pulling her two children out of the case, Setsuna instructed them to notify the rest of the family. On the way, however, Miaona and Wolf started discussing another topic.

”It turns out the book was right, the demolition effect really works.”

”Yeah, now Mom agrees to take us, but it’s not called demolition; it’s dismantling the house.”

Miaona corrected the word in Wolf’s sentence, though he didn’t pay it much mind.

”Same difference. I’m really curious to see this Lu Xun guy... It seems he said many special things.”

Unaware that it was Setsuna’s original plan, they believed their plan had succeeded.

As for the term Lu Xun, while Misu was compiling teachings, she collected some quotes from Arceus through Shaina, feeling they held philosophical value.

But Arceus claimed he didn’t say those words. Unable to recall who did, he casually mentioned Lu Xun, eventually leading to the current situation.
