Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 765: Chapter 764: The Goddess of Fortune Smiles, A Brand-New Power

”What exactly am I doing...”

At this moment, Who’s-Who had changed into an evening dress and was surveying the environment below from the top of a tall building. He had initially thought Yamato intended to launch a purge, which was quite common within the World Government.

To eliminate internal enemies, the World Government often dispatched true confidantes to cleanse the ranks of those harboring disloyalty.

Moreover, both the World Government and the Navy would send undercover agents to infiltrate pirate crews.

The former World Breaker, Byrnndi Wald, was ambushed by a CP Agent who had infiltrated his pirate crew and was eventually sent to Impel Down.

Due to Wano Kuni’s closed-off nature, it was quite simple to investigate foreign beings. Back then, when Queen popularized identity cards, a very simple method was used, which was to have locals report themselves.

Residents of the same area would report each other to see who was unfamiliar. Any stranger who no one recognized would undergo further investigation.

After extensive investigation, nothing unusual was discovered.

However, the territory of the Hundred Beasts wasn’t limited to just this one island. In the surrounding islands, it wasn’t so difficult for some people to slip in, which is where Who’s-Who thought his mission began.

But eventually, he ended up on the Grand Tesoro, this long-voyaging entertainment ship, to conduct his ability investigation.

With the tacit consent of two Heavenly Celestial Dragon families, the Grand Tesoro had become an independent nation recognized by the World Government, and it’s a demilitarized zone, a so-called ”Absolute Sanctuary” where even the World Government couldn’t arbitrarily intervene.

It has now become the gray center of the Underworld, with spies from various forces implemented here.

Due to the support from the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, Tesoro has substantial privileges here.

Without Tesoro’s consent, even the Navy carrying weapons into the area would be illegal, but this was only the official regulation. Privately, no one could tell how many forces had their eyes here.

Boom!

A signal flare burst in the sky, and afterward, in the center of the Grand Tesoro, a large group of Cyclizar started racing along the track, with their riders trying various ways to hinder other competitors.

As the Cyclizar galloped, the spectator stands around erupted in surges of cheers, a unique event hosted by the Grand Tesoro, an alternative kind of horse race.

But upon closer inspection, it could be seen that a new rider was on the leading Cyclizar, and at some point, Yamato had run over to join the fun.

The reason he came here was that Yamato planned to test his ability, to see if he could successfully dig out some special individuals in the mixed crowd of the Grand Tesoro.

Initially, Who’s-Who didn’t think there was any issue, but now it seemed this operation was more of Yamato wanting to have fun, far from their initial intent.

Whatever Yamato wanted to do didn’t matter, but if he achieved nothing, he’d look rather useless, in short, it would affect his career prospects.

It was at this time that Tesoro came up behind him.

”Miss Yamato is just like that, don’t worry too much, I’ve already been informed of your mission’s purpose, just so happens, I have something that needs your help to deal with.”

After the Grand Tesoro officially went into operation, it became Tesoro’s second office location, either on the ship of the Hundred Beasts Fruit or on the Grand Tesoro, his presence could always be seen in these two places.

However, it’s merely an office location, due to the unique nature of this marine metropolis, he couldn’t trust his family to live there.

”What kind of matter exactly?”

”Running smoothly here couldn’t have happened without help from the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, but their families aren’t monolithic. By the original agreement, this is a demilitarized zone, even the Navy and World Government’s agents can’t easily enter here.

For a period, it was indeed like that, but recently some have breached the terms.”

The profits from the Grand Tesoro were too high, massive profits that made many envious, wanting to dig into its secrets. Even some people from the World Government weren’t exempt from this.

There was support from the Heavenly Celestial Dragons here, but only from some of them. Those spying on secrets were agents from other forces.

”CP0, huh? It’s indeed quite a challenge.”

From Tesoro’s description, Who’s-Who also understood the tasks to be done, and though difficult, he didn’t falter. Such challenging matters often brought higher rewards.

This was a game from those above, neither he nor those deployed to the Grand Tesoro were anything more than pawns. To not be discarded, you had to make yourself invaluable.

Who’s-Who is from CP9, he didn’t know much about CP0, though not entirely uninformed. These top CP9 agents were essentially CP0’s reserves, and this time, luck seemed to be on his side.

He originally planned to put out some bait to see if any fish would bite, but by chance, he saw a familiar face on a surveillance feed.

...

”Are you sure it’s him?”

”I’m sure, I used to be an agent, in this line of work, memory is crucial. Once you’ve seen those key figures’ faces, you won’t forget them.

That guy is a member of CP0, there’s no mistake. Codename Knight, a squad leader, but he shouldn’t be on this kind of task, really.”

The operational mode of CP0 was completely different from CP9, but Who’s-Who remembered clearly, that guy had been a CP0 squad leader years ago and had even recruited him back then. Such a squad wasn’t supposed to be doing this sort of thing.

What followed wasn’t of much concern to Tesoro, but Who’s-Who being able to identify a target so swiftly was indeed a delightful surprise for him.

”None of that matters really, as long as you’re sure it’s him, I’ll be preparing to take action.”

Gold started to melt in Tesoro’s hand, this was the result of his efforts over the years, the gold on the ship was all under the control of his Fruit Ability, making it his absolute domain.

”Let me handle this. That guy’s got abilities, and if you’re not careful, he’ll easily escape, plus I want to see how current me measures up to CP0.”

”Are you sure you can? If I’m not mistaken, CP0 is generally much stronger than CP9, isn’t it?”

”The old me wouldn’t stand a chance, but this time is different. I really want to test the powers granted by Lord Arceus.”

Saying that, a black dagger formed on the forepart of his arm, seemingly a metallic hair-like structure congealed, this was a power he earned through Rokushiki training methods, his advance salary for serving as a training officer.

And it was this power that successfully ignited his inner desire, wanting to achieve more merits to gain new powers.
