Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 771: Chapter 770: On How Kaidou’s Guilt Originated

The banana plantation had been in cultivation for so many years without any issues, yet a problem arose at this exact moment.

Even if a problem arises, it wouldn’t be a small one. If I don’t go to the site in person, I’m afraid I won’t be able to figure out what exactly is happening. With the complexity of this matter, ordinary people can’t handle it.

One needs to have a sufficient understanding of Tropius Bananas and the virus and bacteria involved to solve this problem effectively; this was already contemplating Queen’s identity card.

Even though Nightin is also adept at botany, in other areas he doesn’t match up to Queen.

Queen believes this is likely a conspiracy, but he doesn’t have definitive proof. After all, he’s been taking the blame for days now, and the Hundred Beasts’ plantations are more than just one; it’s just that this one is relatively important.

No one can be certain if he would really leave for this matter, and Queen has no evidence to prove this is a conspiracy targeting him, so he still holds on to some hope.

”Contact Tesoro, and have him bring some experts over to take a look.”

After some thought, Queen restrained his desires for the moment. The Hundred Beasts Fruit are the apparent owners of those bananas and have people skilled in handling agricultural problems.

Following Queen’s orders, the underlings passed his requests to Tesoro. A group of experts, carrying their gear, arrived at the plantation.

As time passed, Queen also received new information.

The good news was that they found the root cause. Recently, the island’s rainfall had issues, containing a virus which destroyed the banana trees, causing their eventual death.

Furthermore, this virus only uses plants as hosts and quickly dies without a host, posing no threat to other plantations.

The bad news was that they couldn’t handle this virus, and one attempt even accelerated the plants’ death process.

”Brother Queen, according to the report, once all the plants on the island die, it’ll be fine; after some time, we can replant. Although the island is the largest banana-producing island,”

”Compressing allocations this year can still hold out.”

”Compress allocations? No way, that would take all the fun out of my life! Those useless people, I’ll have to go myself.”

As their business expanded, their output was allocated consistently; compressing wouldn’t just affect one person. As a hedonist, he deeply valued his luxurious lifestyle, evidenced by the fat at his waist.

Yet, he still didn’t leave Ghost Island and chose to use remote livestreaming to instruct those on the island in making medicines to tackle the crisis, but in the end, he failed.

”Useless! All of you are useless! I’ve explained it so clearly, yet you can’t research a satisfactory result?!”

Queen cursed at the screen in front of him. Other than not being able to operate personally, he had taught everything he could, but they just couldn’t achieve results that satisfied him.

With the fruiting season approaching, if they don’t resolve it in time, the bananas will be wasted.

”Miss Yamato hasn’t returned, and Lord Arceus is out... so it’s just Brother Kaido....”

With survival and gourmet food, Queen didn’t want to give up either, so he sought a strong protector to go out with him. Even though he was a reputed strong figure on The Sea, he had become overly cautious at this moment.

....

With a slightly nervous heart, Queen found Kaidou on Sky Island, who was currently watching his mount in a battle.

Unlike Pokémon that only attained a colossal size after Dynamaxing, the Eight-Headed Hydra, Emboar, and Tyranitar were already giant beasts ordinarily.

In general, Pokémon determine their seniority by birth time, with the Eight-Headed Hydra undoubtedly being the youngest sibling.

However, under Kaidou’s influence, it grew more belligerent and refused to accept its status as the little brother.

As a creature created by Arceus, it also had formidable power and wanted to be the big brother, challenging its two ’sisters’ with force.

It didn’t know what it would gain, but it simply thought this would please its owner and creator more.

Whether Arceus was pleased was uncertain, but at least Kaidou was, laughing for a long time as he watched his mount suit his character.

With the advantage of flight, the Eight-Headed Hydra was indeed stronger in one-on-one situations against Emboar and Tyranitar, but being young and challenging both sisters at once led them to jointly suppress its arrogance.

When Queen arrived, Kaidou was comforting his mount.

”Grrrr, don’t be discouraged. You were facing two at once and you’re still young. Queen, what brings you here?”

Patting the main head of the Eight-Headed Hydra, Kaidou looked at Queen.

”Well, Brother Kaido, there’s some production issue on the island; could you accompany me there to check it out?”

”Hmm? You need me for such a small matter? Can’t you just find someone else?”

”No, Brother Kaido, it’s quite complicated and requires my personal involvement. If mishandled, it will affect our commercial reputation. Lord Arceus painstakingly built this good reputation.”

”Then just go yourself. Do you think you’re a child?”

Saying this, Kaido suddenly paused. He wasn’t fooled by Queen’s sweet talk but caught another point.

”Tell me, Queen, you’re scared to go out, aren’t you?”

Queen’s words might fool Yamato, but not Kaido; it was still far too inadequate.

”Well, I....”

”Enough, no need to say more.”

”Brother Kaidou, let me explain...”

”No need. As my top officer, feeling fear over such things is my responsibility! Wah!!”

At the end, Kaido suddenly started crying again. Queen noticed many scattered wine jars on Island Cloud and realized Kaido had probably been drinking while watching the battle.

Sensing something unusual, he tried to quietly escape, but Kaidou grabbed his shoulder.

”Kai... Brother Kaido...”

”It’s my fault. If you were a bit stronger, you wouldn’t have these worries, so... let me help you become strong!”

”Wait! No!”

Seeing Kaido pick up the Wolf Fang Club, Queen wanted to leave, but it was clearly impossible. With just one swing, Kaido cut off any escape route.
