Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 783: Chapter 782: Those Whom Heaven Wishes to Destroy, It First Drives Mad

If it’s ordinary industry, like casting a cannon barrel or acting as a house frame, then it’s not complicated, just expensive, but these metals are valuable too.

However, some technically skilled people have discovered the unique capabilities of this metal, which can realize many fantastic ideas, making the purity of the commercial version insufficient, for instance, the transformation mecha envisioned by Judge.

To complete that vision, the material of the metal has extremely high requirements; before Wapol Metal was developed, there was no substitute for Arceus Steel, even when it was introduced, it could only replace Arceus Steel in certain fields.

The general purity wasn’t enough, so he could only buy in large quantities and then purify, although there were some achievements, the cost was tremendous.

He didn’t plan to upgrade the equipment for the clones; those clones were produced as consumables, rather than giving them expensive equipment, it would be better to give them a powerful bomb to self-destruct.

He only designed upgraded equipment for his children and himself; after years of efforts, there was a breakthrough in technology, and as long as the material was solved, it was still hopeful to achieve.

”Money...”

Vegapunk and Caesar now rely on the World Government, Queen has the Hundred Beasts Fruit behind him, they are not short of funds, in theory, Germa 66’s funds should also be abundant, just their money mainly comes from plunder and war mercenaries.

Comparatively, they’re quite far from people with stable business income, and the massive investments made Judge feel a bit short on money, just then, his subordinate brought today’s newspaper.

”Commander, the latest news.”

”2.7 billion? Is that guy worth that much now?”

Unlike Caesar, Judge is now focused on money.

Germa 66 is essentially a large bounty hunter group; as long as the price is right, they will take most assignments, and they’re also a member state of the World Government, with the right to attend the World Conference.

As a member state, capturing pirates is quite a reasonable thing.

However, if the target is Queen, he’s only tempted by the number, without any intention of doing so.

Even if he could capture him, he wouldn’t be able to obtain those metals anymore, the Arceus Steel circulating on the market, known externally as the Divine Steel, is a peculiar metal.

Right now, it holds a position like the Treasure Tree Adam in the metal world, it has become a dream material, if anything happens to Queen, one can foresee the changes in the market afterwards.

Even the Navy has adjusted some policies due to Queen’s problem, it currently appears that with helpers, even a Headquarter Admiral might not quickly deal with Queen.

If that’s the case, it means that targeting Queen would require gathering stronger forces, the state of The Sea doesn’t allow for that temporarily.

The Heavenly Celestial Dragon’s complaints are another aspect, these people actually requested that capturing Queen should not affect other business, and the World Government agreed to this demand.

In the eyes of the World Government, they only feel the other party is troublesome, not to the extent that it must be eliminated, so they’ve maintained the original state, not adding any strength.

Under such circumstances, Judge is even less likely to take the initiative to provoke a Sea Emperor, he’s aware of the gap in power between the two sides.

Among other forces, most people don’t understand the technology, they’re just shocked by Queen’s exaggerated bounty and extremely dangerous label.

The Navy didn’t disclose that Sakazuki was injured; they can only quietly speculate on how powerful a pirate Queen really is.

Doflamingo is affirming the importance of his cooperation, Crocodile is still exploring archaeology, Moriah is reclusively collecting shadows in the Devil’s Triangle to create zombies, the New World remains as unruly as ever.

And as the focus of public opinion, Queen has already returned to Wano Kuni.

....

”Queen! Come out!! Is the danger you mentioned fighting with the Headquarter Admiral?”

Not even half an hour after he returned to his laboratory, Setsuna had already come knocking. She doesn’t know what happened outside, but she could see the newspaper; before Zeraora and Queen even returned, she saw a report from the World Government.

Even though the World Government only reported part of it, she could guess what happened, and it was far from the no-danger situation Queen told her about.

Not long ago, Zeraora came back, which meant Queen also returned to Wano Kuni, and thus, she came to demand an explanation.

”Eh? Queen isn’t here? Hey uncle, do you know where that jerk Queen went?”

Upon entering and glancing around, she couldn’t find Queen anywhere.

”Wait, are you one of his relatives? You have a similar aura to him...”

”I AM Queen!! What are those eyes of yours for?!”

Upon hearing this familiar voice, Setsuna rubbed her eyes, her tone still filled with suspicion.

”You’re... Queen?”

”Yeah, I told you, when I slim down, I’m quite handsome. I was just worried others would fall for me, so I kept that physique. So, do you feel my charm?”

”Ha, this shameless demeanor is definitely you, explain why your no trouble came to involve a Headquarter Admiral!”

Originally, Queen was quite plump due to his excessive consumption of sweets, but after using the Gift of Nature, his fat quickly dissipated, leaving him as skinny as a skeleton.

Now, on the way back, Queen has restored quite a bit through eating, looking about the same as during the MADS era; this phase of Queen is still bearable, but the current hairstyle is notably unimpressive.

His old hairstyle had a bit of style, unlike now where he looks like a comedian.

”See, nothing happened, and you need to believe me, an Admiral is nothing, Zeraora and I were enough to handle it, muahahaha!”

Queen’s words left Setsuna in silence, for a moment she didn’t know how to argue with him; it seemed like his shamelessness was through the roof, as if saying Zeraora was just an assistant and he single-handedly matched the Admiral.

This is the change in Queen’s mindset, after experiencing great joys and sorrows, and a fierce battle, he realized that Admirals are not that terrifying, making him feel extraordinarily inflated inside.

However, as the saying goes, ”Whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad,” Queen heard an excited voice in his ear.

”Queen, you’ve finally come back, your bounty of 2.7 billion Belly is second only to me and Arceus, seems like you’ve been hiding your strength before.”

Queen’s laughter came to an abrupt stop; he even somewhat dared not turn around.

”Erm, maybe I’m just hearing things because I’m hungry, right?”

”Kaidou-san, Queen said he could handle a Navy Admiral!”

Setsuna didn’t reply to Queen, only artistically modifying Queen’s previous words.
