Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 772: Chapter 771: How to Convince a ”Henpecked Husband”—Queen’s Tragic Confession

[Humans are so strange.]

Tyranitar picked up a piece of Island Cloud, seeming to wonder if this thing could be eaten. After hesitating for a moment, it still shoved it into its mouth.

Eating dirt is a habit of Tyranitar. In theory, Island Cloud is also a type of soil, but it hadn’t really studied whether this thing could be eaten.

After the Island Cloud was stuffed into its mouth, it instantly melted, and a glimmer appeared in Tyranitar’s eyes, as if discovering a New Continent.

However, after just a couple of bites, it stopped. It didn’t want to just fall down like this; it would hurt a lot.

[Yes, humans are so strange. Their way of interacting truly isn’t something Pokémon can appreciate. Little Eight must have learned badly from them.]

[I said, don’t call me like that! I am the Demon Dragon!]

[Tsk, do you really like the nickname your enemies gave you? Indeed, it’s best to deal with little brothers early on.]

Tyranitar, Emboar, and the Eight-Headed Evil Dragon were speaking in a language humans couldn’t understand, while also ridiculing the weird behaviors of Kaidou and Queen, and not approving of the Eight-Headed Evil Dragon’s taste.

Although created by the same creator, the Eight-Headed Evil Dragon had a tight connection with the Yamato no Orochi Fruit, making some differences inevitable.

Under Kaidou’s drunkenness, Queen suffered an extra ordeal, which made him realize the path with Kaidou was impossible.

Subordinates not daring to do things because of fear of battle was the behavior Kaidou loathed the most. If it happened again, he might truly be beaten half to death by Kaidou.

”Damn it, Arceus-sama just left not long ago, and who knows how long Miss Yamato will play...”

He wasn’t that inflexible. If top-tier combat strength couldn’t be found, then slightly less was acceptable. Shaina left with Arceus, and Olga was drifting overseas, leaving only Zeraora and King as suitable choices for him.

He thought for a moment and decided to find King first.

...

”Get lost.”

”Hey! You interrogation freak, I came politely to invite you, and this is your attitude?!”

”Someone who can’t even overcome a little greed, I have no time to deal with you.”

King seemed very impatient, with the long knife at his waist already drawn. Queen didn’t know that when he came, he interrupted King while he was using the Lily Carnation.

It’s already quite restrained not to kick him right away.

At this point, Zeraora was already the last choice. Returning to the lab, Queen fiddled with some small items and then took a gift box to Zeraora’s home.

As to why he brought a gift, if it were just Zeraora, he would go empty-handed. But the problem is, Zeraora has a wife, and according to Queen’s analysis, the seemingly generous Setsuna is actually very petty.

Even though he disturbed her love life over ten years ago, she’d still occasionally bring it up.

Going to ask Zeraora to do potentially risky things while empty-handed had a high probability of getting turned into a pincushion.

...

”Is this guy’s life... a bit too good?”

When he first came to Wano Kuni, this was just a simple thatched hut, just two ordinary houses. Later, Zeraora and Setsuna built a new home here, and after marrying, turned it into a villa.

By now, after several expansions, the villa had grown into a villa complex, with many new buildings around—warehouses, guest rooms, a small amusement park—you name it, it had it.

Comparatively, his earnings were no less than theirs, but it just seemed very pitiful.

”Uncle Queen, is there something you need?”

Miaona emerged from the flowers outside the door.

”Oh, I’m here to see your dad, he’s home, right?”

”He’s not in, but... why is your face so swollen? Did you sneak too much food?”

”.....”

This question was hard for Queen to answer. After all, Kaidou had been aiming at his face during that time. The fact he’s not wrapped in bandages and can still move is a testament to Kaidou’s mercy.

”Where did your dad go?”

”He went fishing by the sea with mom.”

”....Here’s some toys for you and Wolf, go play.”

Just after handing the things to Miaona, he saw the couple returning with a fish bucket.

”Queen? What are you doing at my doorstep?”

...

Inside the living room, Setsuna and Zeraora listened to Queen’s explanation of his visit.

”So you want to borrow Zeraora?”

”Hey hey hey, he’s a living person, not your property. Is that really appropriate to talk like that?”

”Never mind that, that’s not the point. The point is, what dangerous thing are you planning this time?”

”There’s really nothing dangerous. To put it harshly, if there’s danger, it’s dangerous to me. Your Zeraora can retreat with no problem.”

To persuade Setsuna, he offered a very miserable reason. Those around thought it made a lot of sense.

”Then why insist on bringing him?”

”Because if the two of us go, even an Admiral can be handled. If something goes wrong, his appeal for help speed is the fastest. Does that reason satisfy you?”

Sighing, Queen drank the contents of the teapot in front of him.

Admirals and the Four Emperors, their Combat Power to others was a leap in level. Even the least competent Ryokugyu easily defeated King and Queen, though it partially related to them being already injured.

Unless faced with an opponent of the same level, facing an Admiral Level opponent would only result in delay at most.

He and Zeraora could handle an Admiral; this was confidence slightly inflated by ability enhancement and Kaidou’s devilish training.

”Fine, do as you want. If Zeraora is willing to go, let him.”

By rights, he didn’t need to convince Setsuna, but Zeraora, Mandfeish, and sometimes Tesoro greatly respected the opinions of their partners.

For such potentially risky actions, he had to have sufficient reasons.

”Don’t worry, he will definitely come back safely. I’m well-prepared this time.”

Queen said, taking out a Devil Fruit and waving it in front of the two.

”A Devil Fruit? What’s the use of having this? We have our abilities, no need for this.”

Looking at the Devil Fruit in his hand, Setsuna’s expression was puzzled. She and Zeraora both had their powers, Miaona and Wolf had powers granted by Arceus, so there was no need to create vulnerabilities.

”This is for my own use.”

”Are you trying to commit suicide? It’s not that big a deal, is it?”

Eating two Devil Fruits would lead to explosive death; this was common knowledge on The Sea, so Setsuna didn’t understand Queen’s words.

”How could that be? This is my secret weapon prepared for new tactics. If anyone dares to provoke me, I’ll make sure that bastard knows my power.”
