Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 767: Chapter 766: Senior, Did You Forget Your Promise to Mentor Me?

This place is inherently part of the internal space of the Grand Tesoro, and the gold material here is different from ordinary gold. Through the buildings formed by this gold, it has already become an absolute independent space.

Normal activity can’t be detected outside, and now, besides taking a group of lucky ones for a sightseeing tour, Tesoro is also hosting a grand ball. As long as this place isn’t dismantled, people outside won’t notice anything unusual.

”What are you talking about? Mr. Tesoro, I don’t quite understand what you mean...”

Even at this moment, Knight still maintained a look of confusion, merely showing a hint of fear.

Even though Tesoro precisely called out his code name, he still did not admit it.

If it weren’t for Who’s-Who vouching for him, he would hardly believe that this person was indeed a CP0.

His impression of CP0 remained stuck on the white suits and strange masks, the kind of flamboyant personalities afraid that others wouldn’t recognize them on the streets.

”It’s okay, it’s fine if you don’t understand. The stage is ready; it’s time for the actors to make their entrance. And this time, it’s an old acquaintance of yours.”

A section of the wall in the Golden Theater suddenly melted, and the figure of Who’s-Who appeared there.

”Long time no see, Senior Knight. You did promise to groom me well back then, haven’t you forgotten so soon?”

In his Human-Beast Form, Who’s-Who appeared in front of Knight, looking very much like before, but his color had changed to mainly black and gray.

The expanded fur made his body appear a little bloated, but the originally fluffy fur was now entirely made of steel, with a Viking helmet-like decoration added atop his head.

It wrapped around his original horns, representing the new ability he had acquired, the Viking Pokemon - Perrserker, the evolved form of Galar Region’s Meowth.

Originally, Meowth was a Pokemon resembling a house cat, but with the change of living environments, Meowth evolved into different branches.

The Alola Region initially had no Meowth. A few Meowth were offered to the Alola Region and lived with the nobles, gradually developing a haughty pride.

In contrast, Galar Region’s Meowth became fishermen’s helpers, always living with the belligerent sea tribes and even participating in raids, evolving into a more combative form.

”I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”

”At this point, there’s no use in denying it. Senior Knight, your memory can’t be that bad, can it?”

Who’s-Who released his transformation and revealed his original appearance. It was only then that Knight understood what had occurred.

”You traitor...”

Until now, he hadn’t thought he had any flaws, even assuming this was just a surprise event planned by Tesoro.

He had been very confident in his undercover work, but now Knight understood why Tesoro was so certain his identity was compromised — he had run into a damned old acquaintance.

For someone executing undercover work, encountering an old acquaintance is undoubtedly extremely perilous; a single word from them could expose an entire operation.

Knight’s situation was different. He encountered something even more fatal: the other party wasn’t only an old acquaintance but also a traitorous one.

He had known before that Who’s-Who had defected from CP9 and joined the Hundred Beasts, but according to past intelligence, high-level officials of the Hundred Beasts rarely appeared at the Grand Tesoro, and Who’s-Who had never been here at all.

He, like Queen, hadn’t shown his face outside for a while, with the last news being from the power swap battles within the Hundred Beasts.

Even if he came here, with the Grand Tesoro’s daily flow of over thirty thousand people, without precise information, he wouldn’t have been exposed. Yet his luck was simply unfortunate enough to be discovered by the other party.

He wasn’t aware that the person operating the monitors was named Baccarat, and her Fruit Ability was Tesoro’s deepest secret, with the Luck-Luck Fruit able to have miraculous effects in many inconspicuous places.

”Don’t say that, Senior. I’m just trying to survive. Unlike you all, I won’t die just to serve them. Since you said back then you wanted to groom me well, please fulfill that wish for me.”

”You bastard! Is this what you understand by grooming?!”

His squad had been short-handed back then, so he wanted to recruit Who’s-Who after his promotion, and in Knight’s eyes, Who’s-Who also seemed like a promising candidate.

He had genuinely wanted to groom Who’s-Who at that time, but now, Who’s-Who wanted to trade his life for his future.

”Each serves their master, or perhaps you might consider surrendering? I could recommend you to Mr. Kaidou. Although many high-level officials detest World Government members, if you truly join, they could accept it too.”

Shaina and King’s personalities are still disdainful of World Government members. When he first joined, he was often met with contempt.

”Heh, Who’s-Who, aren’t you overestimating your abilities a bit? You’re thinking too highly of yourself!”

Listening to Who’s-Who’s boastful words, Knight’s eyes were full of disdain. People like them never betray; they even dare to undertake missions like disrupting Kaidou’s battles, which are clear suicide missions.

He just couldn’t understand why a mere former CP9 was so confident.

”Not even you, let alone that kid Rob Lucci, is my match!”

With his feet repeatedly tapping the ground dozens of times, Knight used Soru to instantly appear in front of Who’s-Who, his fingers aligning as he thrust a Finger Gun towards Who’s-Who.

The chasm between CP9 and CP0 lies in strength. Unable to defeat Queen, he didn’t consider a mere Who’s-Who worth his attention.

”I hate... being compared to that kid!”

An oddity of CP9, mentioning Rob Lucci, the most genius recruit in eight hundred years, and mentioning Who’s-Who, is that he and Rob Lucci are of equal fame. No one likes being seen as a sidekick, especially when one thinks they’re not inferior.

The confrontation between former CP9 and current CP0, Who’s-Who also chose to counter with Rokushiki.

”Fool, your Tekkai can’t withstand mine, Finger Gun·Impact Hammer!”

His finger bones seemed to disappear, with his fingers bizarrely retracting into his palm, finally springing forward like a spring.

The Earthworm Fruit granted him not only Regenerative Ability but also strong muscles and transformations of his skeleton, allowing his entire body to morph into a spring state, thus launching stronger attacks.

Tekkai and Finger Gun are the spear and shield within Rokushiki. Those who overestimate the quality of their shield generally meet bad ends, but this time, it wasn’t the shield that was overestimated, but the spear.

The fur covering Who’s-Who’s body completely blocked Knight’s Finger Gun.

”Hahaha, if the ultimate aim of Tekkai is to emulate steel, what’s the effect if a body made of steel uses Tekkai? Have you thought about it, Senior?”
