Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 787: Chapter 786: Ice-Sky Bouquet - Shaymin

It looks like a hedgehog, but it is vastly different from an ordinary hedgehog. Not only is its body white, but even the spikes are replaced by lush, fresh green grass, with several yellow seed-like objects visible inside.

On both sides of its cheeks, there is a pair of pink flowers.

A talking Pokemon, this implies something extraordinary among the Hundred Beasts. So far, Pokemon born with the ability to speak either belong to the Phantom Pokemon or have some special roles.

But this time is very special because the counterpart is just a hedgehog.

Zeraora, Darkrai, Diancie, Genesect, Manaphy, all have body structures similar to humans, appearing to be some sort of demi-humans.

This pure animal-like appearance of a Pokemon is rather rare, but in any case, the Pokemon in front of us is certainly extraordinary; Arceus has never disappointed.

”Master, look at that guy’s eyes; he looks at me like a pervert, or is he actually a pervert? I think this guy is very dangerous.”

”Don’t say that, little one; I’m not some pervert. Would you like something to eat?”

Based on past experiences, you can establish good relationships with most Pokemon through food. This Pokemon in front of me seems entirely composed of plants—it must be a vegetarian.

Although its speech habit is odd, it shouldn’t be hard to get along with, at least not like that Omastar, which habitually greets me with a Water Gun, or to be precise, has upgraded to a Spike Cannon.

Thinking it over, Queen made a bold move. After transforming, he picked the ripe banana from Tropius’s chin and pushed it in front of the counterpart.

Charlotte Linlin wanted this banana but never got it, and now Queen took it out willingly, which shows he’s going all out to change the opponent’s stereotypes towards him.

”Give it a try; it’s really delicious.”

Looking at the banana bigger than its own body, this hedgehog started sniffing at its scent.

”I’ll... I’ll try it for now; you were the one who offered it to me, right? You won’t take it back, will you?”

”No, no, you can eat it slowly.”

The banana from Tropius is quite a temptation for vegetarian Pokemon. So far, Queen has achieved initial success; he then glanced at Arceus.

”Lord Arceus, did you prepare this for me?”

”Sort of. Her name is Shaymin; don’t underestimate her. Your plantation’s recovery depends entirely on her.”

”This little one possesses such great energy?”

His banana plantation is practically ruined; Sakazuki’s Meteor Volcano, combined with his Gift of Nature, has caused two Explosions, destroying the island’s ecosystem, almost wiping out even the microorganisms in the water.

Under normal circumstances, the island would remain barren for a long time.

This is a significant loss for Queen, as he selected island from the many in the New World after multiple surveys to serve as his banana plantation.

Climate, soil, that island was the most suited for his banana cultivation.

That’s why Caesar and Sakazuki are on his blacklist; he originally thought that Arceus would at most help him get some new seeds, but he didn’t expect them to restore it.

”This is Shaymin’s ability. If she’s willing, she can indeed achieve it.”

Shaymin is a member of the Phantom Pokemon and possesses its unique ability.

Its body can break down toxins in the atmosphere, acting like a natural filter, even superior to Galar Weezing in this aspect, but that’s only one aspect. Shaymin also has the power to revive barren lands.

Legend has it that when people rejoice that the harsh winter has ended with the change of seasons, offering gratitude to the heavens, Shaymin appears to cover the desolate land with flowers.

Flowers are just a form; blooming and fruiting is the life cycle of plants, which is Shaymin’s essential power.

”You mean...”

”Shaymin can restore the island’s ecology, and your plantation can be revived.”

The soil will rejuvenate; harmful gases from the volcanic eruptions will be purified, making the island even more perfect.

These words are music to Queen’s ears; he has more in mind that if such a devastated island can recover, using it on other normal islands could produce even better crop growth.

Even some special products he could only cultivate in the lab now have the potential for mass production.

It’s not a hedgehog; it’s simply a treasure.

Queen’s gaze at Shaymin became peculiar once more.

”See, there’s something wrong with you after all. I think you’re not very trustworthy, right?”

”Little one, after eating my food, it’s not nice to talk like this.”

”You offered it to me, didn’t you? What’s that got to do with me? But if you give me some more, I might consider helping you.”

”Whether you get to eat better things is up to you; as long as we work well together, I guarantee you’ll be full every day. Would you like to show me your abilities?”

”No, it’s a power that comes from gratitude. It’s not possible right now.”

”Gratitude? I’m very grateful for Lord Arceus’s blessings.”

”That’s not the gratitude I’m talking about. Although being grateful to the Master is crucial, you haven’t reached that point yet, and the flower hasn’t bloomed.”

Queen began to not understand what Shaymin was saying. According to Arceus’s words, Shaymin is a Pokemon capable of rejuvenating everything; it can make plants flower, but it requires the flowers to bloom—this is simply contradictory.

Before he could ask something, a seed suddenly appeared in his hand.

”Lord Arceus, this is...”

”This is the seed of the Gracidea flower, Shaymin’s favorite plant. When this flower blooms, upon smelling its fragrance, she can reveal another form, considered a test for you.

Once you make it bloom, Shaymin will definitely help you, right, Shaymin?”

”The Master has spoken, so the outcome is certain. When it blooms, I’ll help you.”

Shaymin in its hedgehog form is also called its Land Forme. If it senses gratitude from humans, the flowers on its body would bloom; it said Queen didn’t understand gratitude because the flowers on it showed no reaction before.

The Gracidea flower, also known as the rare flower, would release a fragrance that allows Shaymin to reveal its Sky Forme. At that time, Shaymin would gain stronger combat power and the ability to fly freely.
