Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 788: Chapter 787: Queen’s ”Ancestors” and the ”Crown Prince’s Companion

From this day on, Quinn gained two ”forefathers” in various senses. Shaymin was practically worshiped by him, all so that Shaymin could smoothly help him revive the banana orchard.

The second ”forefather” was the Gracidea flower, which had become his most important goal. And because he was unclear about the planting conditions of the Gracidea flower, he planted those seeds across various regions of Wano Kuni.

Whether indoors or outdoors, his planting zones were everywhere, even in the perpetually snow-covered Ringo Region. What if the Gracidea flower was a cold-weather crop?

He even went out of his way to get a few snails from Wano Kuni to monitor his crops 24/7.

He wasn’t Vegapunk who could create a bunch of clones of himself, so being stretched thin with his tasks, he chose to stay in Ringo, where the harsh climate made flower growth more problematic and used this method to monitor other areas.

Shaymin herself wasn’t as insistent on these matters as Quinn. Although she liked the essence of Gracidea flowers, she opted to remain in warmer, more comfortable environments.

For Quinn, this was also a special ”test.” Growing flowers wasn’t particularly difficult for him, it just required some perseverance.

And a foodie fighting for food always has ample patience.

”Hey, hey! You two go play somewhere else, be careful not to mess with my flowers!”

”But they haven’t come out yet.”

”Same thing, all the same, go play over there. Otherwise, don’t expect me to make toys for you in the future.”

Quinn waved off Miaona and Wolf. Compared to their parents, these two little ones had a better impression of Quinn. They didn’t understand much but saw Quinn as a chubby uncle who frequently brought tasty treats and made toys.

The siblings, nearing six years old, gradually expanded their range of activities. Besides Kuri, their presence could often be seen in other regions too.

This time in Ringo, they were just there because they wanted to have a snowball fight.

Now, with December ending, while temperatures were dropping in other regions, only Ringo and the summit of Fujiyama had such large amounts of snow. For a snowball fight, Ringo was the best choice.

For the sake of fun toys, Miaona and Wolf temporarily stayed away from the area.

In ordinary snowball fights, the not-yet-hatched flower seeds wouldn’t be affected. The problem was the unique way these siblings had snowball fights.

For normal people, the focus of a snowball fight is on the snow, but for the two siblings, it’s on the fight itself. They genuinely engage in battle.

After shifting locations, the siblings soon rolled into a ball in the snow and began their playful antics.

”Uh... shouldn’t we stop them?”

Nearby, a Rabbit Fur voiced its question from the snow.

”Oh, no need. They’re always like this. Even the Duke doesn’t worry, so we don’t need to either.”

Bepo explained the siblings’ daily life to the newly arrived Fur Race in Wano Kuni. Neither Setsuna nor Zeraora worried about the children’s safety in Wano Kuni. Bepo followed them not out of fear of something happening, but because he feared they’d play too wild and be hard to find later.

And the Rabbit Fur was more like a ”Crown Prince’s Companion,” accompanying the children in their growth.

They couldn’t be too young, or it wouldn’t be clear who was taking care of whom. Their talent couldn’t be too weak, or else they’d not be able to keep up. In this situation, three-years-older Carrot appeared.

”Is that so?”

Taking out a carrot, Carrot’s tone still had some doubt. Being chosen by the new Duke wasn’t a bad thing. Compared to Zou, everything in Wano Kuni was much richer.

Even though Setsuna had been assisting in changing the quality of life in Zou, due to environmental issues, it still couldn’t directly compare with Wano Kuni. The snow here was a novelty for Carrot too.

”Of course, and this is just the beginning. There’s more trouble later.”

Saying this, Bepo looked around as if trying to find something, but eventually didn’t spot it and instead used the snow to build a wall.

”Don’t just stare. Come help out.”

The original Bepo, though staying by Setsuna, had the lowest status among the family, coupled with his own personality, never leaving an apology unspoken. Now with a normal junior, he also showcased the demeanor of a senior.

”Are we playing too?”

”No, this is to avoid the snowballs. I don’t want my fur to get soaked later.”

Before Carrot could comprehend what this meant, Miaona and Wolf had already changed tactics. Instead of mere playful antics, they started a ”long-range bombardment.”

With the distance increased, snow around the two began to float up continuously, eventually forming into snowballs in the sky, which then rained down like bullet storms towards the other.

Some of the snowballs, due to improper control, also flew towards Bepo, and the wall he had just built was promptly toppled.

”Wow...how amazing! How are they doing that?”

”That’s inherited from the Duke, known as the Aura Power.”

”Is that the power the Duke uses to communicate with the Elephant Lord?”

”Mm, Lord Arceus granted the Duke that power. The two of them inherited quite a bit. The Duke also allows them to train themselves through this process.”

Miaona and Wolf could be considered the Fur Race’s most gifted pair in centuries. Besides their natural build, they also inherited Setsuna’s Aura Power and Zeraora’s Power of Thunder.

Even if their Aura presently is only for snowball fights, it hints at their distant and promising future.

Their play became a way for the Fur Race to grow stronger, albeit more intensely than usual Fur Race descendants. Finally, with their clothes drenched, Bepo and Carrot took them back to Kuri on Altaria.

...

”Dad, Mom, Lord Arceus gave Uncle Quinn a very cute hedgehog!”

”We want one too. That hedgehog looks so adorable!”

Having just jumped off Altaria’s back, they searched for Setsuna and Zeraora, voicing their requests. Normally, they would find Setsuna and Zeraora at home, but not today.

Eventually, they spotted them not far from home in the fields.

”Slow down, slow down, all of you. Don’t run so fast!”

Miaona and Wolf were followed by Carrot, while Bepo, carrying all sorts of strange items, panted heavily to catch up.

”Bepo, your stamina isn’t up to par.”

”So... sorry, I didn’t think these things would be so heavy. Uh, Duke, is there something special planned?”

At that moment in the fields, Setsuna and Zeraora were holding several bundles of leeks taller than a person, seemingly preparing to plant them.
