Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 782: Chapter 781: But That’s What Akainu Said

2.7 billion, this number is already a terrifying figure. Among the pirates still active on The Sea, there are only enough pirates with a bounty exceeding this amount that can be counted on two hands.

Even in the Hundred Beasts Pirates, only Kaidou with 4.677 billion and Arceus with 3.08 billion exceed this amount. In other pirate crews, only the Captain has such a terrifying bounty. The Red Hair Pirates are slightly special, as Beckman’s bounty is much higher than that of other officers.

Even if you were to drag out the remnants of the Rocks era and add those monsters who have retired, this bounty would still rank among the top.

Moreover, it even prompted the World Government to specially mark it as extremely dangerous, which already reflected the extent of the World Government’s attention to it. Coupled with that unchanging ONLY ALIVE, he now suspected that if Queen surrendered, the World Government would unhesitatingly throw him, this second-in-command, aside.

Let him take his place.

Judging by the experimental results of the past few years, it’s evident.

Human gigantification experiment, Caesar failed.

Queen, on the other hand, created terrifying war beasts and has already successfully applied them in battle, even incorporating Bloodline Factor technology.

Devil Fruit replication experiment, Caesar failed.

Queen currently seems to have mastered the strange technology of materializing Devil Fruits, and this suspicion seems to have been confirmed recently.

Bloodline Factor experiment, Caesar currently has no performance, while Queen has fully replicated Vinsmoke Judge’s technology, and the earlier Devil Fruit experiments are also inseparable from the Bloodline Factor.

Even the large-scale weapons of mass destruction he excelled in have now been outdone, or rather, in this aspect, Queen has never lost to him.

In comparison, Caesar suddenly felt like he had become a waste.

The two had known each other for too long, clearly evenly matched, and when they used to fight, it was a fifty-fifty. How did Queen suddenly ascend to become a top-tier scientist and even able to injure Admirals?

Strong individuals at the Admiral Level unquestionably have dual-color Haki. Facing a Logia-type Ability User skilled in Observation Haki, injuring them is basically hell-level difficulty, not to mention it’s unusually difficult to heal from special injuries.

”I’m telling you, your intelligence department definitely has issues! Queen couldn’t possibly achieve this; he doesn’t have that ability. Humans can’t make their brains ascend in just a few years, unless that guy met a god!”

Before the accident, Caesar still had some respect here, and he established a kind-hearted persona for himself. Although he appeared somewhat neurotic since Queen began to make frequent appearances, the researchers and soldiers here still respected him quite a bit.

”But this was seen firsthand by Admiral Sakazuki, not the speculation of the intelligence department...”

”Eyes can deceive. The point is, Queen couldn’t possibly do this, understand?”

”But that was Admiral Sakazuki...”

”Why can’t I make you understand? The issue isn’t Akainu; it’s Queen!!”

”I understand what you mean, but this time the information was obtained by Admiral Sakazuki through combat during a mission...”

Caesar felt like something was knocking inside his brain, inexplicably causing him a headache. The Three Great Admirals are the pillars of the Navy, and their influence on the Navy is profound.

Especially as Sakazuki is usually the strictest in military discipline, never one to joke, no matter how you think about it, he’s not someone who would lie.

What Akainu said is definitely true; no one within the Navy has ever doubted it, to the extent that this intelligence was unanimously recognized.

Vegapunk doesn’t care whose technology it is, just sees it as a great breakthrough. If the mystery of Devil Fruits could be further unraveled, perhaps eternal energy could appear in this world.

Immersed in research, he didn’t mind external matters, just added a new plan to his list.

Only Caesar persisted with his original knowledge, believing that everyone was being fooled, that he was sober while everyone else was drunk, and that he alone maintained rationality.

”Sooner or later, you’ll regret it!”

Seeing that he couldn’t get through to them, Caesar simply turned back to his laboratory. As the saying goes, ”Three people make a tiger,” and after everyone insisted on one perspective, he also slightly doubted his line of thought, but his inherent understanding made him reaffirm his belief.

And he made a new decision, what Queen could do, there was no reason he couldn’t do. He was also going to conduct new experiments.

And the first step was to write an application, fooling the World Government into granting him some new funding.

The expenses for eating, drinking, and having fun are quite large, and without applying for some new funds, it was becoming insufficient.

He’s not like Vegapunk, both he and Queen are hedonists; it’s absolutely impossible for him to spend all the funds solely on research.

Meanwhile, others had different reactions.

”Mom, Mom, why did Dad suddenly become skinny?”

”My silly son, that’s not your father; this is your father.”

On a pirate ship filled with severed limbs, a not-so-bright-looking person was comparing the difference with a Wanted Poster. In front of him, a short woman raised another Wanted Poster belonging to Whitebeard.

”Oh! This one indeed looks more like him. Mom, are we going to find Dad now?”

”No, no, no, my silly son, it’s still a bit early for that.”

The woman stuffed the newspaper into her coat and then walked into the cabin to start looting treasures.

...

On the other side, another old colleague of Queen’s, Vinsmoke Judge, was also researching something new. Ever since witnessing the power of Genesect back then, the idea of Mecha had sprouted in his mind.

Even though biological weapons continuously appeared afterward, he didn’t change his main direction. He was originally on the development path of combining Bloodline Factor, mechanics, and biology.

At this moment, a clone soldier was operating a seemingly bulky Mecha to transform, but it failed halfway, and the soldier was also stuck inside.

”Father, it still failed. That metal is too rare, and conventional methods can’t decompose and refine it. Our extraction efficiency is very low, and it wastes a lot of material. Even if it only serves as a material for some core parts, it consumes massive amounts of funds.”

Reiju calmly spoke to Judge about the facts as she watched the failed experiment, and the metal she referred to was Arceus Steel. As Arceus’s abilities grew stronger, this ordinary creation also became simpler, and Ghost Island now had warehouses full of Arceus Steel.

Apart from self-use, they also dissolved it and mixed it with other metals, using a deteriorated version of the metal to serve as special military products, thereby exchanging for large amounts of funds.

It’s just that what’s everywhere on Ghost Island, and even metallic treats for some Pokemon, is extremely rare in the outside world.
