Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 785: Chapter 784: Queen’s Paranoia, Hundred Beasts Immigration Bureau

As time passed, 1516 was coming to an end. Queen eagerly awaited Arceus’s return, fantasizing about his bright future, and he grew more corpulent day by day.

In the end, he had already returned to his original roundness.

At this moment, Queen had just left the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center. He wasn’t there for a checkup but to inspect others.

His previous arrogance had vanished with Kaidou’s help. He had come to realize the gap in strength once more. Being able to fight did not mean he could win.

However, the thought of not wanting to step outside at all had considerably diminished.

Just to prevent himself from encountering misfortune again, he would sporadically check on the internal security environment. The permanent population in Wano Kuni could now be divided into four parts.

The original inhabitants of Wano Kuni, the pirates of Hundred Beasts, the Fur Race from Zou, and the technical talents attracted under Hundred Beasts’ policy conditions.

The pirates stationed on the main island were mostly old hands, and he wasn’t worried about the isolated original inhabitants and the Fur Race, who were of a different race. The talents attracted by high-paying conditions were the targets of his suspicion.

Compared to others, the likelihood of something going wrong with this group was the highest.

Although these people had been living in Wano Kuni for a long time, it didn’t stop Queen from experiencing periodic paranoia.

After some investigation, he once again confirmed the safety of these doctors.

In fact, over these many years, any issues should have already erupted if there were any. Queen was just slightly overly anxious, but as he was about to leave, a doctor approached him.

”Lord Queen, please wait a moment. I have a question I would like to consult you about.”

”Hmm? What’s the matter?”

”Well... some of my friends have offended some people and can’t manage locally anymore. They want to move elsewhere. He’s also a very good doctor. So... are there any new immigration policies recently?”

Apart from the World Government, which constantly reviews IDs, most islands and countries don’t pay attention to such things.

Just wanting to move to a different place isn’t easy in these seas.

Member nations potentially have ships to ensure maritime safety, but for ordinary people, it’s all a gamble. No one knows what the ships they take might encounter on the seas or whether they’ll safely reach their destination.

Umit’s shipping business includes this aspect. As long as the money is sufficient, in most cases, they reach the destination safely.

Hundred Beasts is attracting external populations in development, even offering special preferences for talents. That’s why he asked Queen.

”The main island is impossible. The islands in the peripheral territories are doable. You know the rules, go back and write an application yourself.”

Some opportunities, once missed, are gone forever. The current Wano Kuni has entered a new era. The same level of technology might have been welcomed a decade ago, but not necessarily now.

Personnel movements were under Queen’s responsibility, which was also related to his current mental state. He didn’t want to give spies any chance to infiltrate the main island and was doing his best to prevent such things from happening.

”Alright, I understand.”

An internal recommendation system always existed within Hundred Beasts. With connections, things often became easier to achieve.

For ordinary people, the most trustworthy entities remained the World Government and the Navy. The residents of towns in Marinfanto had the highest sense of security, but not everyone had such luck.

Nationals of non-adhereing countries and residents of certain islands on the Grand Line weren’t as fortunate, and in the changing tides of the era, they would make their own choices.

...

On an island in the New World, there once was a nation here, but it was destroyed in a war with member countries. To pay the heavenly tribute, that nation attacked here, plundering vast wealth. Since then, this place became lawless.

But eventually, a new order emerged here. Due to its geographic location, this island was used as a transit hub, concentrating goods, people, and vast resources, and redistributing them worldwide. It could be called a special gray center.

”Dear, is this really okay... that’s pirate territory...”

At the port, a family gathered with some tension. The household wasn’t completely in agreement about the move.

”Trust me, I’ve checked with House. Even some wealthy individuals from the New World have moved to islands under the Hundred Beasts’ rule. If it’s really so terrible there, do you think they would go?

These people might be unethical, perhaps ruthless, but to get where they are, they’re not fools. They value their lives too much to move somewhere dangerous.”

Patriotism doesn’t really exist in this world. Against the backdrop of the Great Age of Sail, few people have a sense of belonging to a nation. To live better, they didn’t mind relocating, especially those who couldn’t really say they belonged to a nation.

”I hope so... Oh no! Dear, the wallet is gone!”

”Never mind, it’s just some money. We can earn more.”

”But... that was our last savings...”

”We’ll start anew, let’s deal with it once we leave here.”

There was order here, but just relatively so. Compared to the chaotic outlaw zones, overt turmoil didn’t erupt here. The underworld rulers wouldn’t let anything threaten this area’s operations.

But privately, thefts and human trafficking were not uncommon.

They were only there to wait for someone, following a friend’s given address.

Around them, quite a few people seemed to be watching, looking for opportunities. Just then, a pirate ship began docking at the port, the Hundred Beasts’ flag fluttering in the wind. Even ships that were ready to dock had given way.

”Make way.”

Several people climbed down from the ship via a soft ladder. Compared to nearby pirates, their attire was quite formal, and they were noticeably attractive.

They were a special squad within the Hundred Beasts Pirates, responsible for bringing high-value talents into the territory, a specialized immigration management bureau.

Selection had a strict requirement: they needed to be good-looking, at least giving the impression of being good people.

In the Hundred Beasts, this demand wasn’t excessive. Whether male or female, many had appealing looks. Selecting some with fair strength sufficed.

As for more exceptional individuals, it was out of their hands, as officers would personally recruit them.

Using the Hundred Beasts’ prestige, people at the dock quickly cleared a path, and they found the individuals they were looking for.

”You must be the Wilson couple. Dr. House has entrusted us to take you to your new home, please come with me.”

Comparing with the photo in hand, he quickly identified his target.
