Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Errors in Intelligence Leading to Errors in Analysis

”Spandine, if this happens again, don’t contact me and just resign in disgrace.”

”Yes, I’m sorry, very sorry, it’s caused you trouble.”

Facing the furious Radio Snail, Spandine appeared very humble. This unexpected event required him to leverage numerous connections to settle the issue.

Previously, he wanted to monopolize the majority of the credit for finding Rocks’ treasure, so he concealed key figures and directly contacted higher-ups.

Unexpectedly, the treasure wasn’t found, and both Fleit and two CP0 members ended up in accidents. While the situation with Fleit was easier to handle, as CP9 was under his charge and Fleit wasn’t the strongest, his position could be filled by others.

Behind the scenes, the CP Organization had islands dedicated to training talent.

But CP0 was different; those members were elite, and most importantly, they were very loyal to the government. Unexpected losses of such individuals always required someone to take responsibility.

Before Spandam set the office on fire, Purilite’s Life Card was in perfect condition, leading to Spandine completely losing control over the situation in Natehuo Kingdom after that Life Card disappeared.

The owner of that Life Card was also under John’s command, and naturally, with his death, the Life Card vanished.

CP0 wouldn’t contact him, and Fleit’s last report indicated everything was fine.

Those two CP0 members might not have been John’s match directly, but they should have been able to retreat.

The Life Cards from Mary Geoise confirmed their deaths, and other personnel had been dispatched to investigate the specific situation, leaving Spandine with no choice but to reveal all the information.

Considering his information was of certain value and given all the connections he sought, the matter was put to rest.

However, to appease those involved, he made significant sacrifices, and Spandam, who caused the loss of information, received Spandine’s enthusiastic attention, remaining bedridden to this day.

Through Spandine’s erroneous information and subsequent investigation by personnel in Natehuo Kingdom, they concluded that Purilite was the mastermind behind it all.

This person managed to deceive everyone and secretly seized Rocks’ treasure, leading to such a unique bounty.

This matter was far from over, as government officials conducted even more detailed investigations here.

Then, those investigating in Natehuo Kingdom made a new discovery. Without knowing the secret of Rocks, no one would have imagined such a large space beneath the central lake of the island.

They were able to uncover some clues, thanks to John. His Awakening ability altered the terrain of Natehuo Kingdom, and after Kaidou and his group left, a small earthquake occurred here.

A fissure opened in the underground cave, releasing some bodies and a small amount of treasure with the water flow, and the fissure collapsed completely during the aftershocks.

The resilience of these bodies wasn’t just in life; even in death, their corpses hadn’t decayed after so long and could still be identified.

Ultimately, they concluded that those involved fell into infighting over the treasure and were ultimately killed by unknown individuals.

Further investigation yielded no results, and under pressure from Natehuo Kingdom, they decided to conclude the investigation.

Natehuo Kingdom had protested many times. They ran gray businesses, and with a group of Navy and government personnel investigating here, in addition to previous earthquakes and abnormal tides, the national economy had been severely impacted recently.

If delayed any longer, they wouldn’t be able to pay the Heavenly Tribute.

However, among the evidence collected, there was an ancient-styled small knife that was the very one Olga had lost.

Not everyone understands ancient scripts, and it was a coincidence that Fleit recognized the Alkemi text. These investigators were merely gathering evidence; analysis would be handled later by others once back.

Fleit’s body was also discovered, having been previously collected by Natehuo Kingdom, unlike the unclear-death CP0 members.

Despite regulations in Natehuo Kingdom, pirates dying in brawls weren’t uncommon, and they were accustomed to such occurrences.

”Severe burns, multiple bone fractures, and head subjected to prolonged blunt force trauma. It seems he was tortured. What exactly did he uncover?”

”Not clear, let’s wait for the higher-ups to investigate slowly. We should be going, as the King of Natehuo Kingdom has already called Mary Geoise multiple times.”

Subsequently, a group of professionals conducted so-called explorations on the recovered clues, and the dagger from Alkemi attracted their attention.

Through Spandine’s firm assurances, the World Government wrongly concluded that Purilite orchestrated the entire affair.

Either Rocks discovered pure gold, or Purilite found a new clue related to Alkemi, finally putting a unique bounty on Purilite.

This was the reason Spandine managed to maneuver successfully without even getting demoted.

But regardless, they never caught a dead person’s abilities on The Sea, causing those responsible for the matter to hit a deadlock, directing their focus to Alkemi based on a pile of erroneous information.

They believed that finding the missing Alkemi would lead them to Purilite.

Months later, after some time at sea, the ship of the Hundred Beasts finally reached Shampodi Islands.

This ship was a gathering place for minority races.

The only two survivors of Alkemi, the two surviving members of the Lunarians Race, along with the extinct Snake Monster Lizard species, although recently, the crew’s demeanor wasn’t quite right.

Everyone had bruises all over, no, to be precise, only Queen had bruises all over.

Asie wasn’t part of the training, not being a combatant to begin with.

Olga had just finished physical training and hadn’t entered the stage of being beaten.

King wrapped himself up heavily, and Shaina was much the same. Even if they were hurt, it wasn’t visible, but Queen was different. His size was naturally larger than others, and under Kaidou’s teachings, even with the Zoan recovery ability, his body still had numerous bruises.

However, it was effective, as over this period, the crew’s Haki skills improved significantly.

At the same time, Olga modified an entire wardrobe of identical clothes, removing the prominent Alkemi text.

The last lesson taught her that leaking such information isn’t a good thing.

She had never seen Shaina or King’s true faces, and they hadn’t shown any intention of removing their masks or transforming in front of Olga, at least not now.

However, Asie had certain speculations, similar to Alkemi, as something not meant to be exposed.

Over a hundred years ago, there were far more Lunarians than now, and the government’s efforts to capture them were much stronger.
