Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Ruthless.jpg

The Fur Race, who live in the Fluffy Kingdom on the back of the Giant Elephant Zou, are a race derived from furry animals, resembling beastmen, and are even rarer than the Fishman Race.

There are many minority races in the Pirate World. Apart from races like the Long-armed Race and Long-legged Race that appear similar to humans, there are sub-human species like the Fur Race and the Fishman Race.

Although they are not human, their blood and some organs are indeed compatible.

Many people discriminate against these races in their daily lives, viewing them as beasts, but in auctions, these races fetch much higher prices than humans.

The Fur Race has lived on the back of Zou for generations. Since the Giant Elephant continuously walks on the sea surface, Zou has no fixed location. The only way to reach Zou is through the Life Card, though if you’re lucky, you might encounter Zou walking on the sea near that area.

Typically, people of the Fur Race do not leave Zou, but exceptions do occur. Some of the Fur Race may willingly go out to sea, not wanting to stay on Zou forever, while others may accidentally fall off and lose their way home.

The price of the Fur Race is also quite high on the Black Market. The organ trafficking assassination groups, though with different outcomes, operate similarly to human traffickers; they even take in slaves they couldn’t sell and resell their organs.

Because of the compatibility of their organs and blood, some people have an interest in the organs of these sub-humans. According to Black Market rumors, the bodies of these sub-humans are stronger.

A king in the West Sea, having heard such rumors, sought the organs of the Fur Race to treat his child born with congenital organ failure, hoping to make his body stronger.

Kekeding led the manager to where the Fur Race was held. Unlike other rooms, the interior here was all soft, and the white wolf-like Fur Race inside was tied up like a dumpling.

Since being captured here and learning about their business, this Fur Race had been attempting self-harm. However, this was just a juvenile Fur Race, naturally lacking the ability to resist.

To prevent her from doing anything in the future, the organ trafficking assassination group wanted to sell her off quickly.

”Notify the surgery team, they can prepare for the extraction. The heart and kidneys are the most important in this deal, and there must be no mistakes.”

”Yes, manager.”

He turned to arrange the surgery team, but a sudden tremor caused him to slip and fall to the floor.

Fragments fell from the ceiling, and the manager beside him looked at his dust-stained shoulder with an unpleasant expression.

”An earthquake?” Kekeding, still confused about what had happened, saw someone stumbling in from outside.

”Manager! A...a big...big trouble! Someone’s attacking us!”

”How is that possible...” Although their business was notorious, it was the first time someone had actively attacked them, due to their secretive location, which few could find.

Furthermore, they had a certain level of strength themselves, otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to conduct such a business. It would take considerable effort to eliminate them.

The World Government had already been persuaded, ensuring they wouldn’t attract a Navy hunt, so they were basically safe. No pirate would do such a thankless task.

This manager was clever and didn’t provoke opponents he couldn’t afford to mess with.

It was the first time in years anyone had attacked their base, and the continuous bombardment showed the attacking force was not small.

...

Outside, the ships of the Hundred Beasts Pirates had already landed, their ship cannons bombarding the buildings in the island’s center, while the combat troops rushed out.

Though Kaidou could have chosen to act himself, he wanted powerful warriors, not useless individuals who could only survive under protection. If the opponent was extraordinary, he would naturally act, but his subordinates needed to have their own combat abilities.

However, the battlefield showed a one-sided situation. The organ trafficking assassination group seldom engaged in large-scale frontal battles, and against powerful opponents, they seemed weak and frail.

”Dan Bow Emperor!” With Steel Wings deployed, King flew low like a sharp blade through the battlefield, and the enemies had no capacity to retaliate against his rapid attacks. Rock Blade and Fireball dominated the battlefield, with the remaining members of the Hundred Beasts almost just reaping the benefits.

The difficult enemies were resolved, and those who remained lost their courage, unable to form effective resistance. Regardless of resistance or surrender, their outcome was the same; the purpose of this operation was revenge, with no intention of leaving survivors.

When the manager arrived outside, he saw the burning battlefield; the organ trafficking assassination group’s years of accumulation on this island were completely destroyed.

This caused the manager’s heart to bleed.

”What’s going on, where did these people come from?”

”I...I don’t know. They suddenly appeared here and directly bombarded us. The flag shows they are from the Hundred Beasts Pirates.”

”Hundred Beasts... when did we offend someone from the Hundred Beasts?”

No one answered him; who could figure out such things? In their line of work, they’ve offended too many people.

Pulling a Radio Snail from his chest, the manager began to call for external help. The Hundred Beasts Pirates were a rising new star in the New World, with both the Captain and the cadres demonstrating formidable combat power.

Pirates of this level were beyond him and his men; he needed support. The Radio Snail was quickly connected, reaching a pirate with whom he was establishing relations.

Although he had some business dealings with people from the World Government, in the New World, those names held little sway; pirates weren’t World Government officials and didn’t worry about their ”official career”.

Only equally powerful pirates could make the opposite side pause hesitantly.

”Perospero-sama, it’s me. Do you remember me?”

Pirates also conducted business, and the organ trafficking assassination group was a member of the Underworld, while the BIG MOM Pirates had the broadest contact with the Underworld. He had some business with BIG MOM, thus had Perospero’s contact.

”Oh, it’s you. What’s up?”

”We’ve been attacked by other pirates, and the enemy is strong. As I mentioned before, I’d like to borrow the BIG MOM flag. What do you think....”

A pirate’s flag couldn’t be borrowed lightly. If someone used another’s flag without permission and was found out later, it would be a more serious issue.

Recently, he had this plan, but there were some disagreements over the cost, so a final agreement hadn’t been reached.

Perospero saw it as an opportunity to raise the price, inquiring about who they were fighting against to see how much he should hike the price, but after hearing the answer, his expression changed.

”What did you say just now?”

”About borrowing the flag...”

”No, before that.”

”Do you remember me?”

”I don’t remember. Who are you, and how did you get this number?” he said before hanging up the Radio Snail....
