Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Where Did So Many Mythical Zoan Types Come From

The surrounding pirates quickly aimed their guns at King, knowing that guns can often have unexpected effects, and many strong individuals had met their end from an inconspicuous bullet.

However, against someone who is prepared and has abundant stamina, bullets generally have little effect. His wings at his back shielded his front, shining with a metallic gleam, and the wings enhanced by Steel Wings blocked the pirates’ dense gunfire.

Haki requires stamina consumption, and abilities also require stamina. Although King is a member of the Lunarians and a modified Pokemon Ability User, possessing immense stamina, it is not limitless.

Distributing stamina reasonably during a fight is also very important.

Then, King stomped a foot onto the deck, and a row of sharp stone spikes extended from his foot, sweeping away the surrounding pirates, with many being pierced through by the stone spikes.

Rocks appearing from thin air, a draconic body—these features together lead ordinary people to only one understanding: a Mythical Zoan user.

”Another Mythical Zoan... that’s already three. Where are they finding so many Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits?” Bingjack said, sweat gathering on his forehead as he watched King slaughter on all sides.

Kaidou battling Wald, Shaina in the sky blocking all cannonballs, and King breaking onto the ship—three different Mythical Zoan abilities puzzled him, as they are known to be rarer than Logia-types, so why are they clustering here now?

But he didn’t have time to ponder these meaningless questions; regardless of how the Hundred Beasts Pirates acquired these abilities, it was already a fact, and now what they needed to do was fight.

Having cleared the surrounding minions, King didn’t continue to destroy the cannons on the deck but instead dashed toward the ship’s helm.

”Not good! His target is the engine room, Gaielam! Stop him! Sebastian, find a way to take care of that woman!”

Currently, the Wald Pirates’ ship was relying on better propulsion and ample firepower to pull away, with the Hundred Beasts’ cannons having greater power but were out of ammunition, so they were closing in, trying to board for a fight.

Bingjack didn’t want to waste their firepower advantage, so both sides were circling around this sea area. If King managed to destroy the engine, allowing the opponents to board, their initial advantage would vanish.

Gaielam, the shipwright of the Wald Pirates, was also a fighter on the ship. He and Sebastian were the two highest combatants among the officers, although their performances in 3D2Y weren’t impressive due to changes in mentality.

Haki’s strength is said to be the strength of the spirit. Young Moriah dared to clash head-on with young Kaidou, but after all his comrades died, his mentality changed drastically, becoming a ”shut-in” relying solely on zombies and fruits, weakening significantly from his younger days.

Young Crocodile dared to challenge Whitebeard and even clashed with Bullet, but after experiencing great defeat, his mentality also changed drastically, starting to pursue the legendary Netherworld King, ultimately being defeated by the Straw Hat.

Sent to Impel Down to reflect for a while, he regained his former spirit, able to go toe-to-toe with anyone.

The Wald Pirates of this time were much stronger than thirty years later, as not only was Wald’s power greatly reduced due to long-term Ice Seal, but even the officers’ combat power had dropped due to age.

Additionally, Wald harbored a grudge against subordinates who ”abandoned him,” which further weakened the Wald Pirates’ fighting power.

Yet the World Government directly summoned the Seven Warlords of the Sea, bypassing the Navy, and Navy Headquarters, led by Akainu, set out, showing the gravity of the situation.

At this time, the Wald Pirates were much stronger than back then, both the officers and Wald himself.

As Bingjack’s words finished, a man carrying a square hammer, with even his hair tied into two square pigtails, charged out from the crowd, slapping his hands directly onto the deck.

”Cube Space!”

Lines of light appeared on the deck, which split into cubes, directly blocking King’s path.

He had eaten the Paramecia-type: Cube-Cube Fruit and could turn any object into a cube and move or combine them.

However, King possessed the ability to fly, greatly reducing the effectiveness of Cube Space.

”Air Cube!” He threw several cubes of compressed air at King, which exploded as they neared him.

The surrounding pirates couldn’t offer any help. Under King’s indiscriminate attacks, the surrounding cannons fell silent, indirectly reducing Shaina’s burden of intercepting cannonballs.

In the battle, King’s flames had ignited the sails. Though his flames weren’t as hot as Shaina’s, they were enough to ignite some things. By the time they extinguished the flames, the sails were already significantly damaged.

Although this ship wasn’t purely wind-driven, without sails, the sailing speed visibly slowed, and the Hundred Beasts’ ships were getting closer.

In the sky, Shaina formed an impenetrable barrier alone, with no cannonballs able to breach her defense, but a sense of crisis suddenly arose in her mind. Instinctively, she tilted her body, and then several giant rocks grazed past her at an exaggerated speed.

Her wing got accidentally hit by the rocks, bringing her closer to the sea surface.

Taking this opportunity, Sebastian, who had just submerged, emerged from the water.

”Oyabusame!”

A shark formed by water appeared alongside his figure. Though he didn’t hit Shaina, the rushing currents enveloped her, and he charged forward with his weapon.

”Devil Fruit users might be strong, but seawater is your enemy. Your flames are nothing against the sea!”

The sea is the home turf of Fishmen, and even though he is only a half-fishman, the same truth holds. After releasing Oyabusame, he used Fishman Jujutsu to raise waves, attempting to drag Shaina into the sea.

However, as fast as he charged forward, he was sent flying back just as quickly, a massive impact sending him back to the seabed.

When he resurfaced, a charred scar remained on his shoulder. ”Is it not enough water...” he thought the volume of seawater he raised was insufficient to weaken his opponent, but he didn’t know this behavior had already angered her.

”I hate the feeling of being soaked...” Shaina was dripping wet, but the look in her eyes beneath her mask was somewhat unfriendly.

At the same time, her flying posture was also somewhat strange, as the boulder that suddenly flew towards her earlier had affected one of her wings, causing her flapping to appear odd now.
