Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: A Clever Misunderstanding

This operation is clearly closely related to Shaina and King, and even the underlings can see it.

They don’t know the identity of the Lunarians Race; the Hundred Beast Corps only rumor that they are like siblings, but that doesn’t really matter. Many strong individuals have quirks; Shaina and King just don’t like showing their faces.

For ordinary residents in the Hundred Beasts Territory, external wars of the Beasts are opportunities to invest, whereas for them, it’s about determining their status within the group.

Kaidou made it clear from the beginning: as long as they have the courage, they can challenge even the top positions. If they can defeat the opponent, they’ll become the new top brass.

However, except for a few overly confident individuals who tried in the beginning, no one else has had such thoughts, because failing the challenge can result in a severe beating.

Aside from that, their promotion mechanism is entirely strength-based, and the quickest way to increase strength is through the empowerment granted by Arceus. Whether it’s ability or something else, it can cause a qualitative change in their strength.

So far, the brother who drew Splash has become the best scout, and qualification for the draw is determined by achievements in each battle, with combat being the only way to earn merits.

If Shaina and King took out all the enemies, that would be a problem for them.

”I’ll leave it to you.”

With that, King also left. This organ trafficking assassination group often captures various targets here. Even ordinary humans can have massive physiques, let alone magical giant hybrids, so they made the passage below very wide.

Large enough to allow a Beast Form King to fly freely. This turned out to be something they deeply regretted.

The flames on King’s back almost extinguished, which is a sign that the speed of the Lunarians has reached its peak. Due to the battle outside, ordinary members have been dragged out to combat the Hundred Beasts Pirates. Those who remained below in this safe area are almost all high-ranking members of this organization.

So King launched an indiscriminate attack. Shaina’s speed is even faster than his. With her speed fully accumulated, he simply couldn’t catch up. Given the complex structure below, King decided to split up and act separately with Shaina.

...

Observation Haki can detect the presence of nearby living beings, but these people don’t differ much to Shaina. Not everyone’s Observation Haki is like Fujitora’s, able to discern differences among everyone around.

She could sense the presence of a few familiar people, but they were all strangers here. Even if she could sense the nearby presence, she didn’t know who these people really were.

However, as she moved at high speed, she detected the presence of a group of moving people. Most here were confined to certain spaces. The speed and range of these people’s movements seemed off.

Those people seemed right below her, but the stairs here had no regularity, making it hard for her to find a way down. Her Observation Haki range wasn’t particularly large, so she simply stomped down.

In this world, there wasn’t a road, but as more people walk, a road forms. When you can’t find one, you might as well make your own.

Below her was Kekeding transferring important goods. After a few sporadic gunshots, these people ceased any resistance.

Although they were confidants of the manager, stronger than the riffraff outside, they were just upgraded to elite soldiers, which still made no difference to Shaina.

”Why, what exactly did we do to offend you? Why do you have to exterminate us?”

Even until now, Kekeding didn’t know why the Hundred Beasts Pirates were attacking here, and they weren’t holding back, leaving no survivors.

He didn’t receive an answer, as Shaina had no intention of explaining. The second-in-command of this organization died here with questions in his head, after which Shaina turned to a few iron cages covered with black cloth behind her.

These must be valuable items; they insisted on taking them even while fleeing.

Under the first piece of cloth were boxes filled with unknown liquids, containing various organs. Shaina merely glanced at it before covering it back up, and in the cages behind were living people.

Strong, intact bodies, and regardless of gender, they were good-looking. In reality, their business had nothing to do with appearances, since usefulness was all that mattered.

But organs from such individuals could fetch higher prices; aristocrats would always be willing to pay more for things like these. In the final cage was the Fur Race’s Wolf Woman.

Specially made high-temperature resistant rubber shackles; unless absolutely necessary, they’d avoid using anesthesia or sedatives, as some believed it could damage internal organs.

The Fur Race are born warriors; even setting aside the elite warriors, the fighting capability of their elderly, women, and children surpasses that of ordinary adult men.

The high-temperature resistant rubber is to counter their ability to release electricity. The Fur Race can generate strong static electricity through the friction between their fur, and with training, it’s as powerful as lightning.

This young Fur Race member was already causing them significant trouble with her electrical discharge ability.

Though Shaina came for revenge, she wouldn’t kill indiscriminately. The iron bars that confined them couldn’t hold Shaina, and she easily broke them.

”Find a place to hide, don’t run around; come out after things quiet down outside.”

However, she didn’t waste time caring for these people. After unlocking their chains, she had no intention of handling the rest. Even if the Beasts came over, their prison garb clearly identified them.

After that, Shaina chased out again. But not everyone would follow her advice, like the Fur Race’s Wolf Woman who, after being unshackled, pursued Shaina by following her scent.

The Fur Race’s isolation is comparable to that of Wano Kuni, but theirs is passive. Due to Zou’s nature, outsiders rarely have a chance to find Zou, and even if they do, landing is highly unlikely.

Living on Zou’s back, the Fur Race is unfamiliar with the outside world, and the outside world knows little of them. Outsiders perceive the Fur Race as hostile to humans, but they are actually a very friendly race; they see humans as monkeys with a fur shedding disease.

This young Fur Race member left Zou simply because of curiosity for the outside world. Her understanding of the world’s knowledge is still insufficient, and Shaina’s Human-Beast Form seems to have given her a misconception...
