Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Trouble Comes from the Mouth

Candy Waves is a liquid syrup; Perospero wanted to use it to bind Queen and the others, and then take the bananas away.

Unfortunately, while he was secretly using his ability, Queen was also secretly using hers. The backlight in Perospero’s direction became his greatest downfall.

The power of the sunlight gathered into the body through leaves on the back, the ultimate move of a grass-type Pokemon, Solar Beam.

It requires charging before attacking and is affected by weather conditions, but if released successfully, its power is considerable.

Although it’s a grass-type skill, as an attack released by absorbing the power of the sun, it inherently carries high temperature.

The Devil Fruit is inherently a non-scientific creation, but it follows bizarre rules. The candy made by the Lick-Lick Fruit is as hard as steel, but is afraid of high temperature.

Perospero could withstand the high temperature generated instantly by the exploding Energy Ball, but the continuous high temperature of the Solar Beam was different. The Candy Waves he released were directly evaporated by the Solar Beam’s attack.

The pirates around Perospero watched the approaching Solar Beam, wanting to run away and dodge, but their bodies became especially heavy, only able to watch as the Solar Beam got closer.

Although Perospero raised a candy defense to defend, at the moment the candy wall came into contact with the Solar Beam, it was melted by the accompanying high temperature, and the original defense power disappeared without a trace. A group of them was directly blasted away by Queen’s Solar Beam.

Perospero was only 19 years old this year. Although he had eaten the Lick-Lick Fruit, his power was still growing. Even though he was the eldest son, his combat power was not the strongest.

At 25 years old, Queen was more comprehensively developed. With the restraint effect of the charged Solar Beam on the Fruit Ability, gaining the upper hand was not surprising.

It was just that he still lost some bananas.

He didn’t want to, but there was nothing he could do. He refused to compromise with Perospero—this was his, and if someone wanted to take it, he’d rather destroy it than let the other side succeed.

He could only minimize this loss as much as possible.

All of Perospero’s people were hit by Queen’s Solar Beam. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to dodge, but they couldn’t escape after their bodies slowed down.

At this time, there was a sweet scent in the air. It wasn’t the aroma of the soon-to-be-ripe bananas nor the scent of Perospero’s candy, but Queen’s released sweet fragrance, a skill that could lower the enemy’s dodge rate.

The real effect was that this fragrance contained a special toxin that made the body sluggish.

”Muhahaha, this is the consequence of stealing from the great me. Do you now know the power of your grandpa Queen! Shaina, that woman, what is she? If it weren’t for the great me letting her, could she even be my match?!”

As he spoke, the topic seemed to go off track. Queen found a sense of satisfaction in Perospero, suddenly feeling a mysterious confidence.

”Um, Brother Queen....”

”What do you want, you idiots still hanging around! Go quickly and tie them up, then harvest the bananas. This place can’t be stayed in; we need to change location.”

Although he successfully cultivated the first batch of bananas here, BIG MOM’s people also found this place. It’s a certain distance from the Hundred Beasts’ territory, and its strategic value is not high, so occupying it is not significant.

So he decided to move and build a bigger plantation elsewhere.

”But Brother Queen, talking about Big Sis behind her back doesn’t seem right...”

”Hmph, behind? I’d say it to her face too! Just a mere woman.”

As he said that, he took out a cigar intending to relax. During this process, he kept a watchful eye in Perospero’s direction. After all, he’s the eldest son of the Charlotte Family, even if restrained, it wasn’t possible to be taken down in one hit.

When he was looking for a lighter, a flaming finger was placed in front of him.

Queen didn’t think there was anything wrong and lit the cigar directly, but milliseconds later, he felt that the hand looked familiar.

”You’re quite confident, aren’t you? Good, full of spirit. What’s wrong with me, this woman? I want to hear your comment.”

”Gulp...” Queen swallowed, stiffly turning his head. Then his eyes nearly bulged out.

”Why are you here!!!?”

In Queen’s line of sight was Shaina flying low in the air. Wasn’t that Shaina’s hand that lit the cigar just now? An ominous feeling surfaced in his heart. Upon careful consideration of the dates, her unwell days had long ended.

But no matter how he thought, Shaina shouldn’t be appearing here.

”You wouldn’t have come this far... just to hit me, right?”

”No, the Sacred Beast Master is going treasure hunting. I’m just accompanying. I just happened to pass by here; our destination is nearby.”

They planned to supply here before setting off, and hearing the sounds of battle, Shaina came to see what was happening.

”Phew... I see...”

”But now I’ve changed my mind. We were just planning to rest here for a while. You seem confident; let’s start in a moment then.”

”Wait a minute! You heard wrong, I didn’t say anything. If you don’t believe me, ask them.”

Queen pointed to his subordinates behind him, and Shaina also looked over. The pressure immediately shifted to them.

After a brief hesitation, without any doubt, they sold Queen out. Shaina had been here for a while, but Queen hadn’t noticed. Denying it wouldn’t change the outcome, only drawing trouble to themselves.

”Sorry, Brother Queen!!!”

Line up, bow, apologize, distance yourselves.

His subordinates used the actual situation to explain everything. Things were settled. They didn’t want to offend the pirate crew’s disciplinary officer.

”You cowards.....” Although he had no right to say this, it didn’t stop him from dissing them in his mind.

”Um, I think solving the enemy is more important.” He very much hoped Perospero hadn’t lost his fighting power so that he could shift the conflict.

And Perospero didn’t disappoint him, standing up again. Several pirates beside him hadn’t fallen yet either.

Because Queen hadn’t appeared much recently, and in the last battle with Wald, he was reduced to a backdrop, he hadn’t been given a bounty. But Shaina was different.

She and King had been almost constantly battling during this time, and their fame had already been established.

”Lord Perospero, that woman is.... the Flame Claw Princess. It seems their reinforcements have arrived.”

”I’m not blind... prepare to retreat.”

”But what about Mom....”

”There’s no choice now. Just report what happened here truthfully, and hopefully, Mom can understand... maybe.” He didn’t quite believe these words himself but could only console himself this way.
