Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 84: Chapter 84: A Son Who Screws Over His Mom

After Queen left here with Arceus and the others, Perospero and his group couldn’t free themselves from the sea sand. For ordinary pirates, the soaked sea sand was too heavy to put any force into it.

For Perospero, the seawater above was what restricted them, and it wasn’t until other members of BIG MOM came that Perospero was dug out.

”Peros bro...”

”Ah, Compote, it’s you. Isn’t mom coming in person?”

Charlotte Compote, the eldest daughter of the Charlotte Family. Seeing that it was Compote, Perospero was slightly relieved. It meant at least that Charlotte Linlin’s anger was still under control since she didn’t come herself.

”Mom is still very angry, but you don’t need to worry too much, Peros bro, the punishment for you shouldn’t be too severe, I think...”

”What happened?”

”Mom originally wanted to come personally, but she called someone before, and this matter might no longer be handled by us.

And given that there are mom’s guests in Tottland now, that’s why she didn’t come personally. However, you couldn’t bring back the bananas mom wanted, so you can’t escape punishment.”

Perospero sat on the ground with a headache. Not too severe referred to not having his lifespan taken, but what the actual punishment would be was hard to say.

”Lord Perospero, actually they didn’t take away all the bananas.”

The people who returned from the banana grove brought back something that made Perospero slightly happy. These bananas had been affected in the previous battle, with some of their peels scorched black, some cut by candy shards, and others crushed.

After loading all the bananas and banana shoots onto the ship, the cargo hold was already full. Also, they had to take the prisoners and other pirates, so these spoiled fruits were left here.

Looking at these spoiled fruits, Perospero felt very conflicted inside.

Charlotte Linlin’s anger was half about eating, and calming her anger was simple: find the food she needed, but these were all spoiled fruits....

”Compote, you’re willing to help me, right?”

”Peros bro, what do you want to do...”

Compared to their mom, the siblings of the Charlotte Family were more united, especially during those times when Big Mom’s anorexia nervosa flared up.

Not everyone in the Charlotte Family was good at cooking, especially the sons, but the daughters of the Charlotte Family all had some specialty in desserts.

Compote was particularly good at making candied fruits, which involved cooking chopped fruits, adding sweet spices, and then mixing them with syrup. It was once a way to preserve fruit, also known as canned fruit.

By varying the cooking time and sugar additions, different kinds of dishes could be made.

Seeing Perospero’s gaze, Compote seemed to understand what he wanted to do.

”Peros bro, you can’t be thinking of...”

”Ah, cut off the bad parts, process it a bit, and then bring it back to mom.”

You never know under what conditions or with what ingredients your food was made. As long as it tastes good and nobody leaks it, it’s not a big deal.

Big Mom really didn’t care much about food hygiene and safety. The soul infused Homies ran around all sorts of places daily, and during her anorexia nervosa episodes, she would directly eat houses made of food, and never heard of her getting a bad stomach.

As for why there were still bananas despite the failure, he just needed to explain they were snatched during a previous battle. When it came to food, Big Mom’s intelligence would plummet.

Whether to deceive her own mom or expose Perospero, Compote chose the former. It really wasn’t a big deal as long as they didn’t say anything, no one would know.

The only ones who knew about this were the ones who came with Perospero. Those who came with Compote weren’t here, and Perospero wasn’t worried about them reporting.

”You all know mom’s personality. If I get punished, you might lose your lives. If you want to survive, just work honestly under Compote’s instructions. As for reporting to mom, I believe you wouldn’t do such a stupid thing.”

”Lord Perospero, rest assured, we understand perfectly...”

The BIG MOM Pirates had no such thing as merit offsetting demerit, at most reducing the plundering of fifty years of lifespan to forty years. Even if they did nothing, they would definitely face punishment upon returning. Given that, they decided to join Perospero’s ship of thieves.

After simple processing, they obtained quite a few bananas that looked perfectly fine. Although not fully ripe, they were just right for such circumstances.

Perospero’s fruit ability could provide a large amount of premium syrup, which might seem overly sweet to some, but for Big Mom, it wasn’t much of an issue.

After processing, they created a big pot of candied fruit, with bananas as the main ingredient, and other fruits as supplements.

These ingredients weren’t really a problem. They just had some minor misfortunes before, so Compote didn’t mind and even tasted some herself.

”This taste... no wonder mom is so interested. But Peros bro, if mom gets addicted to this taste and wants us to find these bananas again, what should we do?”

”... We’ll talk about it when the time comes. Let’s get through the current situation first.”

Robbing Peter to pay Paul, as for what to do about Peter, he didn’t have time to think about it now, so he focused on saving Paul first.

With an uneasy heart, Perospero and Compote boarded the ship back to Tottland.

Not long ago, on the Tottland Kingdom Main Island - Cake Island.

After the last anorexia nervosa episode, the BIG MOM Pirates had returned here.

Perospero failed to return with bananas within the specified time, and others couldn’t find a substitute for this type of banana.

They tried all kinds of bananas within Tottland, but none could match the sweetness of this particular banana, which also contained the unique sweetness of other fruits and cleverly blended it together.

This challenged Big Mom’s patience a bit. She was originally going to come to find Perospero herself, but then Kaidou’s call came in directly,

”You’re saying that island belongs to your people?”

”That’s right, Linlin, it’s not appropriate for your people to invade my territory.”

”Ma ma~ Ma ma~ It seems you’re doing quite well recently, Kaidou, but I’m very interested in that thing.”

”But that’s my subordinate’s stuff, and if he doesn’t agree, you won’t be able to take it.”

”Seems like we can’t resolve this over the phone.”

”Don’t worry, I’m already on my way.”

Saying that, Kaidou hung up the phone, and Big Mom also heard the commotion coming from outside the gate.

”Mom! This isn’t good, something is coming!”
