Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Burned to Ashes

The MADS members will gather to study the same things, such as the Bloodline Factor.

In this aspect, Queen, Judge, and Vegapunk each have their research directions, but all revolve around the Bloodline Factor.

Besides this, they each have their research focus, and Queen, besides human modification, excels at applying viruses to weaponry.

He calls his research result the Plague Bomb, with different models for different viruses, and this model he calls ”Vegetative State.”

By injecting toxins into a Berry to carry around and then releasing it using the Gift of Nature skill as the source, the energy attack of Gift of Nature is harder to evade compared to bullets or shells.

The ”Vegetative State” is the best combination he tried, and those affected by his Gift of Nature gradually lose control over their bodies while conscious. Without an antidote, they fall into a coma after some time.

After a period, they become truly vegetative. This was an experimental result obtained from defeated rebellious pirates.

This release method has another advantage: by using another Berry as a medium, he can quickly produce an antidote.

The Gift of Nature’s attack swiftly spreads throughout the ship, and people inside the cabin noticed something was wrong, each pulling out their gas masks.

In their usual dealings, they often use wide-area anesthetic gases, as organs from the dead sell for less than those from the living. For better quality, they generally opt for capturing.

If they kill the opponent, they must quickly remove what they need, first releasing anesthetic gas, and then engaging in combat, which is their usual action method.

But Gift of Nature is not gas; it’s a special energy. Even if the gas masks filtered the air, their bodies still came into contact with the Gift of Nature. In just a minute, their bodies stiffened, and they fell one after another in the cabin.

Queen was counting down on the deck, waiting three more minutes than the effective time before heading toward the cabin, but a shadow suddenly fell in front of him.

”Hey, what are you doing?”

”A slippery one. Your Armament seems solid, but your Observation Haki is somewhat lacking.” The shadow was a member of the organ-trafficking assassination group, tossed down by Shaina. He had hidden in the lookout tower when he sensed things were going south.

Queen’s Gift of Nature targeted the cabin below, so that corner was overlooked. Gift of Nature is not gas and won’t float up for no reason.

However, he avoided Queen but not Shaina.

”Easy for you to say...”

At this time, Queen’s Armament was stronger than his Observation Haki, related to his training methods. Whether it’s Armament or Observation, the best training method is to break through in combat.

Besides that, it’s about taking hits, but taking hits for Armament and Observation is different.

Armament training can’t avoid attacks and aims to enhance defense, while Observation requires predicting the opponent’s attack to dodge incoming attacks.

However, Queen’s sparring partners were somewhat overpowered, leading him to be unable to dodge their attacks. Over time, to avoid really turning into a ball, he focused on Armament, resulting in the current situation.

”But why are you here, too?”

”The Sacred Beast feared you’d screw up, so I came to check as well. Once it’s over, let’s head back.”

”Wait, don’t rush. There should be quite a few spoils on these guys’ ship; it’d be a shame not to take them.”

So Queen planned to loot the spoils, but he came back soon after he went down.

”Um...there’s something you should take a look at.”

”I’m not interested in such things; let’s hurry.”

”No, this thing...it’s hard to describe. You should see for yourself.”

After Queen’s persistent insistence, Shaina followed him down. The environment in this ship’s cabin was quite good; it was clear the hygiene was well maintained, and there was a disinfectant smell in the air.

Several cabins housed large culture tanks with organ-like objects immersed in an unknown liquid, which was the warehouse of the organ-trafficking assassination group, storing their merchandise.

The lower level was a bloodier slaughterhouse and prison, but Queen wasn’t planning to go further. Instead, he pointed to the wall ahead where a pair of black wing-like specimens hung.

”...”

”It’s this thing. If I’m not mistaken, this should be...” Queen took two steps back before finishing his sentence. He was among the top three most familiar with Shaina.

Regarding Shaina’s level of anger, he’s not boasting to say he might understand her better than Arceus. Her current demeanor clearly bordered on rage, yet she tried hard to endure.

”Find me someone alive, give him the antidote. I have a few things to clear up.”

Black wing specimens are uncommon. Shaina didn’t know whose wings those were, but she could tell they belonged to the same race. Queen recognized them because he knew the true race of Shaina and King.

He had helped them handle wounds and thus knew some characteristics of the Lunarians Race, which is why he recognized them.

The Lunarians’ wings are a body part, and their appearance here meant a blood debt.

Queen didn’t want to describe the events that followed. He found women were terrifying when they went crazy. He called King a torture-loving pervert, but compared to what Shaina just did, King’s torture seemed like child’s play.

There wasn’t any special gain. Those wings were things they acquired decades ago, kept as a decoration because they looked nice. In their New World base, there was another pair from the World Government’s auction.

Though they were an organ-trafficking assassination group, they had their dealings with the World Government.

These wings originated from some Lunarians Race remains, sold by certain World Government officials.

Lastly, those wings were incinerated by Shaina using Lunarians Race flames, as their funeral customs involve cremation, only their own flames can thoroughly consume.

To hunt the Thousand-Year Dragon, there were no others besides the organ-trafficking assassination group, storing goods for selling in case they met clients. This also facilitated Shaina’s subsequent actions.

With blazing flames gathering at her mouth, explosive flames spewed out - Burned to ashes, the entire ship was incinerated in the blaze, including the organ-trafficking assassination group members...
