Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 98: Chapter 98: The Impending Upheaval in the Underworld

”What’s wrong, Perospero?”

The person next to him saw Perospero hang up the phone with a look of disdain, which seemed to contain some anger.

”Nothing, just some insignificant bugs have offended the Hundred Beasts guys. But I’m afraid the Underworld is going to reshuffle.”

Although the organ trafficking assassination group has a certain status in the Underworld, they are merely illegal merchants operating outside the rules, existing only because there is a demand for their business.

In terms of force, both the World Government and pirates can crush them. Once someone decides to wipe them out completely, their own strength is insufficient.

The New World is the territory of pirates. Even if the managers of various industries in the Underworld are called ”Kings,” it’s only within their domains. Their survival depends on business dealings with the Great Pirates and the World Government.

Once they lose their value, naturally no one will care about their survival.

Although the organ trafficking assassination group hasn’t reached this point, their recent situation isn’t good.

Other underground businesses have close ties with pirates, so close that they can borrow their flags. The pirate who originally lent them the flag recently lost in a battle, causing them to lose protection.

Typically, the victor would take over everything from the defeated, including the businesses they originally controlled. However, this time the victor is Whitebeard, who isn’t interested in this type of business.

Whitebeard Pirates are also engaged in weapon smuggling, casinos, and war mercenaries. However, Whitebeard never touches businesses related to human trafficking; he values family and dislikes such businesses.

Therefore, the organ trafficking assassination group didn’t get protection under his flag and ended up attempting to connect with BIG MOM and trying to establish new relations with the World Government using the Thousand-Year Dragon.

According to his plan, if both tasks are accomplished, they will have more stable backing.

Unfortunately, there’s no news from the team searching for the Thousand-Year Dragon. BIG MOM’s price is too high, and he hesitates, so when Hundred Beasts strike, they can only depend on their own strength.

Not all assassins are called King Hassan; their melee combat strength isn’t strong, especially against the current Hundred Beasts Pirates.

Looking at the busy signal from the Radio Snail, the manager’s face grew darker. Could the BIG MOM Pirates actually fear the Hundred Beasts?

In fact, he guessed wrong. All Great Pirates possess their own dignity. If they have already lent the flag, Linlin might not ignore them, at least would intervene to mediate.

After all, both are pirates. Charlotte Linlin is an old veteran compared to Kaidou; it’s impossible to say she’s afraid.

Moreover, it’s a matter of reputation. If pirates casually abandon their forces, their subordinates wouldn’t trust them anymore.

If the flag is already lent, it’s likely both sides would engage in a battle. Face is a serious matter among pirates.

But they have no agreement now, so Perospero didn’t even think, just directly refused them. No need to consult Charlotte Linlin.

As the eldest son, he has that judgment. Now the Hundred Beasts Pirates have seized BIG MOM’s sweet tongue; to her, food is far more important than the sacrifices of an underground force.

As for the reshuffling of the Underworld, the resources occupied by the organ trafficking assassination group are not just organs and assassination business but also their supply channels, trade range, and a series of industries.

Once those people disappear, others in the Underworld would quickly supplement the missing link like sharks smelling blood.

That’s why the manager never considered seeking help from others in the Underworld; those people would only add insult to injury at best.

”Let’s go...”

Like a cunning rabbit with three burrows, although this is the headquarters, they have other bases. Years of accumulation are lamentable to lose, but it’s better than dying.

Earlier, he saw through the binoculars that even if his subordinates choose to surrender, the pirates opposite show no intention of stopping.

He didn’t know when his people offended Hundred Beasts, but not escaping now means he would be the next unlucky one.

When building this place, they considered all possibilities and prepared secret tunnels for escape. Below the dungeon, there’s a tunnel leading to the island’s secret port. Once aboard the ship, they could flee to other strongholds and seek a chance to rise again.

”Manager, now we...”

”You take the people and bring those rare goods. I’ll give you five minutes, meet in surgery room seven afterward.”

Kekeding understood that the manager surely had contingency plans and shouted at several people to pack the goods, while the manager wanted to return to his office to take away the priceless collections.

He now hoped the outside door could hold a bit longer.

But just as he turned to leave, the iron door outside made a huge shaking sound.

”Are those pirates already attacking so quickly...”

The person behind the door gulped, legs unconsciously retreating. Ever since the battle started, they have been in constant retreat, unable to gain any advantage on the open field, only improving slightly after retreating into the building.

Usually, pirates don’t carry siege weapons. Although the ship’s main cannon has enough power, it is fixed on the ship due to strong recoil, dismantling and transporting it is difficult.

They didn’t know the purpose of holding out, only that the opponent didn’t accept surrender, so they all retreated here.

Heavy doors gave them a sense of security.

But only a tiny sense, which directly collapsed the next moment.

The door that was providing them solace melted in their incredulous gazes, and King and Shaina entered consecutively, soon laying down rocks created by King over the path ahead.

The melted iron left ordinary pirates no place to stand; only with King’s help could they cross the steel-hot flow.

”Leave none alive, eliminate them all.”

Shaina scanned the surroundings; all were minor soldiers. There’s no point in wasting time. She aimed for the person in charge here, directly pursuing deeper inside.

The people nearby only saw a red shadow flash by as Shaina disappeared.

Her characteristic is acceleration; during combat, her speed continuously increases until reaching the limit.

”King bro, you can follow sis. Leave this to us!”
